  • This is my review of the APC Back-UPS Pro 1500 S. I've added it to run my desk, and because of it's sine wave output, I'm also using it in a daisy chain to send power to my APC Back-UPS 1000, and it works!

Couple years ago our power outage would last 1 - 2 h. Now since 2 winters ago, they are lasting from 2-3 days lol. Now I got 2 cyberpower battery backup and I am thinking of getting/DIY those 12V power box Emergency Backup Power Pack.

I think its a very interesting idea to daisy chain the ups. This way the internet connection is prioritized automatically. One thing I didn't understand : why is it important that the ups connected to the wall be a model that supports sine wave?

Sine wave “tricks” the second UPS into thinking it’s still connected to AC power from the wall outlet, meaning it can’t tell the difference. So when the power goes out, it doesn’t go into battery mode until the first UPS exhausts its battery capacity.

@@TechWinnerCC I didn't think that the 2nd ups required a perfect sine wave. I thought that as long as power was coming it would not switch to battery power.

@@pcphoenix123sine wave is what comes from the wall, so if your ups 1 does not mimic that signal sufficiently, ups will sense it’s no longer connected to stable wall power and switch to battery also

12 core cpu, 4080 & 1,200 watt psu. What ups would you recommend. My work was trowing some ups's cause the battery was dead, I got some batteries but the ups keeps beeping. Using a Apc be750g now , it doesn't beep when idle but when doing a stress test or playing games, it beeps like crazy.

Donnie enjoyed your video very much and have a question. Could I possibly plug my ring base station into this unit to use as a battery pack up and if so I’m assuming that once the power is restored everything goes back to normal ? Thanks for your videos and your help

George! It’s been a while since I’ve heard from you, hope you’re doing well! Yes, you could absolutely do that. And once the power goes back to normal, everything goes back to normal. UPSs of this size take anywhere from about 16-24 hours to return to full charge after being depleted during an outage.

Thanks for getting back to me Donnie I appreciate all your help. So it would be wise to plug both my base station and my router into this device. Also Donnie how long would this backup charger last with the two items plugged in. And I hope all is well with you

It’s hard to say how long, because it depends on how much capacity the UPS has and how much power the things plugged in to it are drawing.
