- Police officers with the city of Tempe have been engaging in lawless and unconstitutional behavior in an attempt to prohibit free speech. Recently, they gave a criminal citation to a man who was exercising his 1st amendment right and they stole his property.
Apologia Church and Jeff Durbin had contact with the police officers this morning. Jeff Durbin instructed the police that they had no right to stop his free speech and they were in violation of the Federal, State, and City law in attempting to shut down the protest.

@Carlos Perdue What happened is that the ABUSIVE FAKE PREACHER shut off his amplifying device as he was ordered to by the authorities who advised him that it was illegal, according to Tempe City Code. The only noise that has to be measured by a decibel meter is a continuous noise such as construction work or work that requires heavy machinery of which a city permit is required. The authorities were quite patient with this loud mouthed supposed preacher who was acting more like a drunken fool. TEMPE Noise Ordinance - Section 20-7, a(2) a . (3) a,b and c.

@@diefenbakersown At the time of it happening, ask for their badge numbers and name. They are legally required (I believe so) to announce who they are. Afterwards, while your at it, ask them for their supervisor’s phone number or badge. If they don’t give you the supervisor, at least you have the officers name. Contact the pd and ask to speak to the supervisor. If the supervisor is a douche, ask to go up the chain-of-command. Don’t be an ass about it. Be respectful. You’ll be more likely to be treated respectfully. If you go nowhere, you can always sue. If you sue, the PD has to prove they aren’t guilty, you don’t have to prove anything.

While the officers were wrong, they didn't even give him an official citation. A warning citation with no name on it is the equivalent of toilet paper. Yes, we are under Grace but if someone asks us the time, we should at least tell them what time it is before we start discussing sin. Let's not cause dissension or debate. Although, we are under Grace, currently, we are discussing the "Laws of the Land" which God has informed us to "obey". Thus, we need to pay attention to the Law to ensure that we are following God at all times. This does not mean to follow man's words and/or man's law at the expense of God's Word and God's Law. As, God's Law always trumps man's law. However, whenever possible we should follow the laws of the land and be familiar with what those laws are to ensure that we are following them correctly. I'm simply offering some further detail and information to broaden the scope of this discussion. Perhaps, there's something that I missed?

The officers should have showed up with a decible meter and measured his amplified speech to see if it violated city ordinances. If it did not, then they should have told the person who complained that Pastor Jeff was NOT in violation of city ordinances and was exercising his constitutional right of free speech. Period.
Pastor Jeff knows the law and was standing up for his rights, so citing Romans 13 does not support your argument? Pastor Jeff in this encounter wasn't shown to be violating the law. So, unless the officers can prove otherwise, he was conducting himself lawfully. This is constitutionally protected activity.
The scripture you cited does NOT support carte blanche authority to violate codified law in performance of government duties.
The scripture you quoted applies to the officers that showed up and did NOT submit themselves to the codified law and ordinaces that were there to instruct them on how they were to legally conduct themselves in this encounter.

This is what happens when you give any amount of power to a human being. As weak fallen beings we are incapable of holding power over anything or anyone without being corrupted completely by it. As weak beings anytime we are handed a chance to be strong we take advantage of that and use it impose our will over others that are weaker. We weren’t meant to rule over others. We were meant to coexist peacefully. Not to put each other into chains and cages and exert dominance over minor “issues” like being to loud. This is the corrupt society that the people corrupted by power have created to exert their dominance over all others. We were never meant to live this way.

I can’t believe how unprofessional and arrogant that supervisor was. I proudly worked for law enforcement many years ago, and she is an embarrassment to her position. It was all about her personal beliefs, ie. abortion, so she didn’t care about the law. Unbelievable. You guys keep doing what you’re doing. You’re truthful and peaceful, and completely educated on what you’re doing.

When I was younger I was caught drinking underage and was frisked by a male cop, then when he took me in the female cop was there when I told her I had already been frisked she looked confused and angry but did not say anything. Now as an adult I know what he did, he also acted exactly like this lady... she is horrible.

If a officer approaches you and claims that there is a complaint or report of possible illegal activities then you should ask for a incident number and if he can't provide you with one the chances are that your rights are being violated

The cops deal with a lot of crap on a daily basis, and they shouldn't waste their time on trivial complaints such as this. But it's been a big problem in this country for a long time, that cops think they can abuse their 'power' wherever they see fit. A good officer would turn and present the law to the complainer, and then it's all over. But bad cops have an axe to grind and it doesn't matter if they're wrong - they will abuse their power and grind that axe for as long as they get away with it. It is the minority, but politics protects them.
Jeff is amazing in his knowledge across many subjects. While I can’t read the police officers minds, I do know that many do try to protect and serve. Did these police officers know to the dot the law? Apparently not. Thank heavens Jeff did. But the officers did seem to know that they were beaten in the end and walked away. I’ll give em credit for that. Perhaps a good learning tool for the police….at least I hope so. Politics and police should never mingle. Only law and the enforcement of the law should. And here unfortunately that was absent.

Hi Pierre Farrugia, just want to start by saying, I used to be a Catholic. I accepted Jesus as my Saviour when I was 17 years old and tried to stay a Catholic. But, there were too many discrepancies with the Catholic traditions and the Word of God. I even approached 2 priests from 2 different churches for answers...they offered none and barely paid any attention to me.
One of my main ones was/is, the Word of God never ever said that you as a priest cannot marry. You can, you just have to make sure your house is in order (this is Biblical). It is not natural for man to be alone, without a woman. I feel so sorry for you, I am sure you wanted to give your life for our Lord and thought this was the only way. But I pray in the mighty name of Jesus that He show you the truth and the way. It seems like you have a good heart, I really want the best for you.
So if you are contemplating leaving priesthood and just serving our Lord the way He has for you....do it! You are not a failure! God loves you so very much and He wants the best for you and so do I.

It is a gift given that “not everyone can accept.” These were Jesus’ words when making the analogy with eunuchs. Then you have St Paul recommending a shepherd remain single so that he can whole and single heartedly give himself entirely to God and his people without having the additional responsibilities of being a Christian husband. The Church embraces celibacy as a discipline. Also, please just be aware that there are some priests within the Church who are married. Also please be aware of the fact that there are religious orders, and that if the discipline on celibacy for priests were to change, it would only change for diocesan priests and not religious priests. So, my precious friend, there’s quite a lot to delve into, but thank-you for your kind words and your gentleness of heart ❤️

As a former police officer I absolutely love this. I hate when people who wear the badge don't educate themselves on the law and think that anything they say is the law. Those are the type of people who are attracted to the job because they seek power over people.
