- We captured the sinking moments of a vessel we purposefully scuttled. We rigged sink cameras to capture the underwater descending moments and sea floor impact. Some of the noises heard during the vessels decent are implosions sounds.

It hit the sea floor with quite force. I wonder how bigger ships hitting the ocean floor would look like.
Ya the impact force is pretty impressive!
@justintime3515 yeah i thought the condition was due to deterioration but a lot of the structure probably ended up that way form the impact.
Is this being turned into a coral 🪸 reef habitat?
Titanic hit the sea floor at 55 mph if that tells you anything
@justintime3515same with the britannic almost all damage except for the immediate hole made by the navel mine was due to the impact with the ocean floor
That boat was still in great shape. No rust at all.
Ikr why the hell did they sink it? Maybe for artificial reefs?
No rust inside or out boast was still holding it's shape what a waste of good material. There so many other boat that didnt fit the criteria .i know that its going to provide a reef eventually but what a waste.
Just like an old car, you can totally an old car just by a small collision, even if it's still perfectly drivable and safe, the cost of the repair could be more than what the car is worth. Yes, if the hull was in good shape, cool, but if it blew a motor or had electrical issues, would it be worth it? Could also be a paperwork issue, you could have a perfect pristine car, but if you have a junk title, nothing you can do. Obviously, my experience is automotive, but I'd imagine it'd carry over with things like that.
@@sdusb1243but in the vid the boats stripped down to just a hull and a cab so if they put new equipment on the boat witch is what I would a done with it if it’s stripped inside and out than you have a perfectly working boat just need a polishing and she’ll look brand new
Maybe too expensive to keep
I love how the fish immediately swarm around the new “reef” addition. Artificial reefs do a great job when a natural one isn’t available
Check out the sister ship after two years being underwater. ua-cam.com/video/OvG3ul11_KQ/v-deo.html
4000 years later new civilization will rise and search under the sea and say, “we found pirate ship”
I doubt it would last 4000 years. Mabey 200 years or so before its not recognizable as a ship. If its lucky.
If it remains underwater then it could last thousands of years. But if it surface then yes, it could disintegrate
@@andrewander3893 look at the titanic. It hasn't surfaced, and yet it is disintegrating as we speak. And it is in far more stable conditions than this ship is.
@@jacobhargiss9909 I knew you’ll mention the titanic if you were to respond back haha. But the reason why the titanic is rapidly vanishing is because it was actually broken in half and had minor explosions. But if a ship were to sink on its own with no serious damage, it could survive pretty damn long. Also, the temperature, and other elements could come into play as well to speed up or slow down. If you look up the famous dokos shipwreck, it’ll make you wonder how could that shipwreck survive and the titanic couldn’t. Dokos is believed to be around 2000-2500 BC. Now that’s Fuking long considering the material they had back then. :)
@@andrewander3893 how does damage 100 years ago cause the continued erosion of metal today? Water speeds up the oxidation process if steel. As well, ocean currents erode metal.
Do you have any idea how many wrecks of steel ships have already vanished without a trace?
The fish just immediately arrive
: This my house, entry please!
the cameraman never drowns
Equally as lame as "the cameraman never dies" comments.
Retired Navy and I always been a firm believer a vessel that sails by the sea should die by the Sea and rest in the sea
What better place than to rest at home , thank you for your service.
Fishes go straight to it like “woe ! Is that a butt”😳
So instead of recycling the steel humanity has to destroy hund4eds of acreas to mine ore for new steel
its good for the sea animals
I'd rather see her scrapped than sunk
@@OCGangstaLegit... I understand war ships for respect for the soldiers, but this is but a fishing boat.
It's a cost vs labor equation that has them sinking most boats instead of recycling them. It's a pretty big operation. And you would be disgusted with how much recycling doesn't actually get recycled

The fish seem to like it!
Turns into a whole new world in a second
New fish condos!
😂
exactly!
That hit bottom WAAAAAAY HARDER than I expected. 👀
Ya it bent the rudder pretty good.
Why do they sink these boats? I would like one to fix up and make a nice boat if they are just sinking them.
alot of these boats are beyond any sort of refurbishment, would have been scrapped so better for marine life.
Marine conservation project. See a more detailed video here ua-cam.com/video/B1goJvWtz90/v-deo.html
You can buy scrap or salvaged boats, but be prepaired to spend 5 million fixing up a boat like this to make it sea worthy.
Love how all the little fish like there new home.
Us too!
When sunk in the right places, these boats offer the ecosystem and tourismso much.
Here is what the sister ship looks like on the seafloor two years after its sinking. ua-cam.com/video/OvG3ul11_KQ/v-deo.html
Imagine someone finds it and gets confused why no one talked about it.
It will be mapped and charted and marked with a buoy.
Epic!
It's crazy at how slow it sinks and once the water gets to the deck the boat sinks fast
It took about an hour or so after all the valves were opened.
I heard of this its called making an Artificial Reef for Marine life. Pretty cool!!
Cool kid is you going out and exploring the beauty of this planet not just hearing about it 😅😅 go for kid girl get out there I’m 64 years old. I’ve been at the bottom of the Atlantic and the top of the Appalachian trails from Florida to New York.
Yes. It is cool get the hell out there take your family out there.
@@hawk1481Okay, lemme just drop everything and fucking go to space, just to say that I have.
Yup! The Navy sank the Orinsky off Pensacola to make an artificial reef.
Fish don’t need an artificial reef they have the ocean that’s how god intended it that’s contamination
Alternativ title: were giving a fish a new home
I love how he just chill when the boat is singking
Fish all happy and stuff!!°!!!!
The cameraman needs a raise
thank you!
This fish are like kick ass something new to swim around
Metal toxins in the water..I love it
Toxins??? You mean the metal that becomes completely covered in thriving sea life in a short time???
Nice the start of a new off shore reef.
Yes indeed and thanks.
the two navy men watching and just saying cmon babygirl roll over 😭 it rly sounded like they were treating an animal they cared for. you could hear how somber, yet excited they were to give the liner a proper send off .
New home for the fish!. Will it turn into a reef like they do in oz?.
Yes this is a marine habitat creation project.
@@UWPICVID cool
Scrap metal: worth a fortune
USA: let's sink boats
Not really they do it to improve coral reefs helping them grow. Since all of the bad materials form the boat is removed and recycled. The rest of the boat that is metal can become a new home for marine life and coral reefs
@@DjursholmCarsbullshit
Fishes: hooray new home
Marine life claims it immediately. Stating to transform it into something beautiful
Preach it!
You should have gave it to my dad he’s a great engineer he fixed a huge sail boat in 2 years and it was at the bottom of our lake and he came up a plan to get it out the water it has been in the water for like 4 years and he rented a crane so we could get it started now he has a huge Sailboat yacht DONT judge a book by its cover-Steven a honoring army person(my dad)-
"Nice guys we got the footage. Hey Gary, get your gear on and prepare for a deep dive to get my GoPro back. Dive looks to be more than 150 feet maybe 200 feet even so you better be prepared for a long deco back. Thanks buddy!"
90 feet and I played the role of "Gary"
Bummer, would of made an awesome tiny home for people!
What a shame…no one could repair that vessel to see her on the high seas for another 30 years?!
It's already grabbed some attention.🇦🇺
After a year or more y'all should see what the ship looking like and how it evolved
it is teaming with marine life!
This is extraordinarily spooky to me for some reason
Hey Nemo our new home to hide from the Sharks 😂
Some crab was like WTF just landed on me?
🥺 ...ahhh, it looks like the S.S. Minnow.
Should have put marble statues on it for future generations of divers to enjoy
Why
to create marine habitat
Ships are great for fish and other marine life. They became great for reefs and such. Animals love them.
@@firingallcylinders2949 Nice excuse for wasting steel.
I'm being sarcastic.

Idk about everyone else, but that student debt forgiveness thing made my mom super happy.
The fish were delighted they got a new obstacle course.
Bro really just kept a Camera on the ship😅
Three of them!
"...a three hour tour."
this is sooo cool!
Thanks, we are currently editing another vessel sinking project and plan to film another in May. Stay tuned for those and check out our other vids in the meantime. Some videos show what these vessels look like underwater now. Its pretty wild!
so a nice Boat ...
Cool I like it
thanks
Justin Trudeau just sank a boat.
Whenever I see these kinds of videos I always think about how these ships/boats were once the newest and most advanced watercraft of their time and now they’re just scrap metal floating around waiting to sink or get scrapped
In this case the vessel starts a new beginning as marine life habitat and continues to live on.
Yay the camera survives!
It sure did!
Excellent work
Many thanks
Thanks for helping trash the oceans. Hope you salvaged it.
😢 dang that was beautiful.
Would of bought it
fishies will be soo happy!
Imagine putting the song sleeping sun on this
quite a tidy looking boat really , it will make a great divers play thing , and a new reef maybe.
Can I just visit to watch very cool
Planning to sink a larger vessel soon. Subscribe to catch that video.
Sinking sound is so horrible , never make sea a dumpster
Those fish dont seem to give a shit.
Not sure why it can’t be scrapped instead of polluting the water
Marine conservation project. See a more detailed video here ua-cam.com/video/B1goJvWtz90/v-deo.html
Theyre cleaned of any serious contaminants such a fuel before being sunk. The metal itself isnt a pollutant...
It looks like a good boat. And if some of these catastrophists are right, we might need that boat.
Who went down with it? You surely found the original captain or at least a first mate to be sunk properly?! You can’t just sink a boat without a offering?!
Bro called that ship britannic in 1915 💀
Speaking as someone with severe thalassophobia, this terrifies me...
Nijisanji and Anycolor right now:
That was the USS Mino condo arriving into the neighborhood.
I got the first porthole bedroom 😮😅
I would love that job
And now it is a small artificial reef
I have too do that b4 about too do it again in a few weeks for the coast guard
where at?
All engine along with the oil, fuel, and coolant components removed, a lot of preemptive work was done to remove toxins and contaminates before sinking this vessel 😮
Cool
This is totally insane to sink a boat instead of dismantling to recover the metal !!!!😮😮😮😮😮
Aww man why didnt you tell me I would have taken it.
REMINDS ME OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY ! 😂😂😂😂😂
Sell it for scrap
The vessel hull is providing more value as marine habitat.
What is the purpose of sinking a boat can't you just lift it outta the water an cut it up
To create marine habitat. Scrapping the metal is an option but there are significant efforts and resources involved to recycle a vessel like this that way. This way creates habitat for marine life and provides a fishing and scuba diving location.
I'm against sea pollution!!!!
Could have just given the boat to ME! Damnnnn
Bros recording insted of saving is life
I heard he made it off
Lol the fish are like cool house well take it
The marine life has settled in and is loving the new habitat. Check out recent underwater footage here ua-cam.com/video/OvG3ul11_KQ/v-deo.html
Is like a pretty good boat
.
Does anyone else hear the music from "Jaws" 😯?
I hope you recovered more then your cameras
The only thing that scares me is the horrifying metal cracking sounds it makes as the ship going down under a lot of pressure and current.. That's horrible
yes it is pretty eerie!
@UWPICVID I had a horrible experience once when I was 16 years old I nearly died that day. Drowned deeper trapped inside a sinking ship luckily I was able to escape and swim away from the current and pressure. I was rescued unconscious. Since then I'm suffering from Thalassopobia. Still the horrible sounds are ringing in my ears. But now I want to get over my fears.
Imagine doing this being inside with scuba gear
Buenísima idea. Par Coatzacoalcos. Para fomentar. En .turismo. Acúatico
some kid:IS THAT TITANIC!!!
Dude sea/ocean water is fcking terrifying..
shes a beauty
Instant habitat
Make for a fantastic house boat 😮
It is for sea life
@@UWPICVID Well duh!
Imagine if this is your job and you call the boat that is going to bring you and they tell you that there is a lot of wind and they can't go and the boat sinks.
why .. its a perfect boat
So now we know, boats sink, congratulations.
Lennar’s sea floor program 😂
New reef coming!
the site is already teaming with marine life
Is it gone now?
it is on the sea floor
