Until Dawn is still the best game in the anthology and one of my favourite choice games, simply because it doesn't take itself that seriously and the campy writing is on purpose rather than cringey because the writers couldn't do better.
Supermassive strikes me as a team of very talented developers who might have been pushed by publishers to make too many iterations from the proven formula, at least with the Dark Pictures series. The Quarry was a decent successor to Until Dawn, at least tonally speaking, and that was a different publisher again. Hopefully they'll be able to hit a consistent stride in the future.
Also, I think you might be the only person I’ve seen be dumb enough to actually hit the dog, even with the heavy handed “sometimes doing nothing is the best choice” and a totem showing him petting the damn thing

Honestly I've always considered Despair Girls as more of a spin off than a necessary game in the series. Also it's the weebiest of all danganronpa games, idk if Joe is ready for it
Laci Pados Probably he finds something about the scenario in the game silly or odd in a way the game did not intend. The writing in the game can be silly at times, there are lots of cliches, and the gameplay isn’y super tight, so it’s not surprising that there are situations he thinks are unintentionally funny. I laughed at this game too sometimes when it was supposed to be serious, but I still liked it.

This was hilarious, the game is bad. I don't mind Joseph going fully sarcastic here and I understand him laughing (while making me laugh too). Even for a game that's not meant to be taken seriously, this isn't something I'd like to spend money or time on. If the characters weren't portrayed as typical movie late teenagers (played by much older actors), and were actual high-school teens - it'd help seeing them realistically, but they are much older than they look, but still act like 15 year olds.
