Catherine sandoval it is sticky and actually I don’t think I tried to use the slip solution at first but even after with it it was still pretty sticky. Maybe I wasn’t using enough. I also tried to use the forms it came with.
You always have the best ideas for nail art colors, Colors I wouldnt think to use together and you always pull it off! ! Youre my favorite nail artist :)
I use polygel all the time and it’s so sticky! I tried this method but it’s way easier using the forms. I actually have a private class today to start my acrylic journey. I’m so excited!
Good luck! Just try to relax and do your best and don't pressure yourself too much and you should do fine! Once you have your liquid to powder ratio game going, you've got it in the bag!
@@almaelisa948 You're very welcome! And I know what you mean! When I 1st started doing acrylic I was so horrible at it that I would have so much product on my nails that literally it would take me 4 hours just to file it into something that resembled nails let alone look pretty. Lol. I used to go to work with my nails looking all crazy and then on my lunch break I'd sit outside at the picnic table eat my lunch real quick, watch nail vids on UA-cam and to sit there for half an hour filing my nails. Lol. And that's how you know you're in love with it. when you go through all that and doesn't even bother you.
I'm not a nail tech but when I do my own nails I prefer Poly Gel. Its easy to work w/ as long as you keep your brush wet. It takes less time doing my nails also by using the Poly Gel. I WISH I could get the hang of making flowers like you do. I loved this video. VERY relaxing !!!!
I actually started with polygel because I heard it was more beginner friendly than gel or acrylic and at first I was unsure what I was doing (as any beginner is) I’ve done some really pretty sets with polygel. And I’ve noticed that my brush gets weird when I use too much slip solution if that helps at all😊
I tried poly gel 2 years ago and I wasn’t great at filing back then so it was a mess, I do the 123 go on myself and nail art on top.. I’m always pushing myself to learn more and also have acrylic that I practice with too!! Your channel has been a huge help for me!!
Ooh girl, my first time with poly gel was the same! 😂 everything was sticky and I was so upset, but they looked nice in the end lol I think I still like acrylic more though I feel like I can be more creative with it and make more designs
I’ve never tried polygel but after watching this video, I really want to try it. I’m self-taught and will be starting school next month. I definitely want to try working with all the different types of nail enhancements (acrylic, gel, polygel, etc) .
I am starting doing my nails due to the Covid 19 situation. My husband got me some of the essentials(efile and LED/UV lamp). I am trying to see what works best for me. Thank you Vee this video was very helpful.
I prefer polygel to acrylic because it doesn’t have that strong smell, I find it easier to work with, and I like how I can get it just right without it setting up on me, I can really take my time. Great video, I’m excited to see you continue working with this product!
I have never used polygel but I just bought a kit and I am very excited to try it. I watched your video because I wanted to see how other people new to polygel felt about it. I cant believe I just found your channel, love your content :)
I’ve tried arcrylic I’m new to doing nails I’m really struggling but I’m thinking could be I need a better brush with poly gel I get in to a sticky mess to but I have realised that u need to show who’s boss lol if using the duel forms make sure u let them cool before trying to move them off nails same as if u add more products after the zap cure let the nail cool some poly gels seem to be more sticky then others some bit grainy think just try different makes see what suits love watching your videos thanks 😊 for sharing xxxx
I tried poly gel before trying acrylic and I much prefer acrylic. Acrylic is softer and way more controllable! You did absolutely awesome btw!! These nails are utterly stunning!! ♥️🧡💚
I Haven’t Used Polygel Yet. I Just Started My Nail Journey This Year So I’m Still Working On Mastering Acrylic But You Made It Look So Easy So Now I Cant Wait!🤪
I’ve used it once from my friends kit since I want to learn to do it on my self. You know save some coin lol but I thought it was cool. Definitely a longer process since I’m not use to it but I’ll learn. I think what I like about it was how I was able to work with it until using the lamp to cure. Also, how soft it is to file with since I have yet to invest in an Efile machine.
In regards to an e-file, on Amazon there are 2 that I have purchased in the last 3 years 1 of them was for $25 then the other one I just recently purchased for about 20 or $27 I honestly have to say that for the price I really enjoyed the 1st one quite a bit. I only changed out because after so long it would turn on or off when it felt like it so I had replace it. But for $25 it lasted me a good 3 years. Sometimes 1 would spend 6 hours A-day filing and practicing with it. Hope this helps!
Omg, tysm for your acrylic videos Today, 14 years old i tried acrylic for the first time and i got it, my beads were all perfect, my acrylic leveled perfectly and i had to do the smallest amount of filing. Tysm for your videos vee!!
For the base coat application, you were correct because the polygel sticks to the base coat and without it the polygel would either not cure fully or peel off the top right away.. and also, I love you so much!! 🥰
It’s just a personal preference.. in my opinion polygel is easier since it doesn’t cure unless put under uv/led nail lamp meanwhile acrylic dries almost instantly
Hey! Polygel is what I started nails with. I prefer it over acrylic because I still work pretty slowly and with polygel, I have all the time I need to shape it to my liking. This set came out great btw 💜
I’ve never used poly gel, I usually use regular gel, but have seen others use the base coat as the slip solution. Love the nude colors as well!😍 you definitely got technique down, and the shaping is darn near perfect! Honestly have never seen someone shape poly as well as you. Well done!
Girllll, these are bomb!! Theres girl who have been doing polygel nails for years and you nail it on your first try!! So impressive! I wish i watched this sooner so I could join the give away cause polygel is all I've been doing. But watching you do these so well was a win anyways. Such a fan! Great job girl ❤
I definitely prefer polygel over acrylic now! I just started using it just a few months ago and am in LOVE! They last a really long time too💅 it does take some getting used to but once you get the hang of it you got it! I love how yours turned out!! Much love 💖
I got into doing my own nails a little over a month ago with poly gel and I love it. I find it so easy to use after following a couple people on UA-cam I learned new techniques using poly gel
i’ve never used poly-gel, however i do desire to try & get used to using it. i feel like i need to master my acrylic application before doing so, but i may just be limiting myself which i don’t want to do. your application, though you weren’t accustomed to the product, came out FLAWLESS! nail enthusiast goals, for real! you’re always super informative & articulate, thank you for doing what you do. ✨🖤
I am so glad to see you doing polygel I absolutely love polygel and builder gel because I can use it at home and it doesn't smell up my house like acrylic. And for this being your first time you did amazing 👏 ❤. I actually love watching your videos and recreating your designs with polygel.
Never tired it but I’m willing to learn. I’ll just watch this video a few times and I’m sure something will appear on my nails. Great job btw and admire your patience. Have a blessed day everyone. Take care
Beautiful set !!!😍. I will definitely be trying polygel. I usually just do Gel manicure on my natural nails. Polygel definitely looks beginner friendly. I will be giving it a try for sure. I did enjoy watching you do this type of review video. My vote is yes on that type of content. For something that was new for you, you crushed it. 🤗
I’m a beginner & I’ve not used polygel but I continue to watch videos & see everybody’s tips & tricks so when I decide to take that step to start using polygel I’ll have an idea of what to expect.
It took me a several applications before I trained my brain to let go of all of my acrylic knowledge and start fresh. I learned the hard way that the product will become too wet and run into my cuticle area ( my cuticles are ridiculous and are never flush with the nail bed) causing a huge headache for me. Eventually I stopped caring about a flawless application (like my acrylic application) and focused on one bead at a time. Poly gel is so easy to file so I know it will look amazing. Best tip I have is make sure you use as little slip solution as possible near the cuticle and remember it’s all about your finishing filing game!
I’ve never tried polygel. I am self taught and have only been using acrylic. You really did a great job though. And the video was so raw because you wanted to show us you using it for the first time and I appreciate that. ❤️😍💅🏾
Before COVID, I wanted to learn how to do my nails, did some research and bought a set. I love polygel, except for when it gets sticky! The biggest thing is learning all the other nail tech techniques! Definitely want to master polygel before I get an acyllic or dip set first. Your videos are so helpful 😊👌
I like that you showed actually what it's like the 1st time. I almost gave up after my 2nd nail. I put everything away, 4 reals. I was just getting too frustrated. Girl u are a God send, real talk. I think you show it this way to have good, REAL, & true to life content. Also (even tho I think I answered this above but just in case...) I've only tried polygel 1 time & got as far as my 2nd nail on my nail tip holders. I actually did it just like you, on top of tips. I'm ALWAYS days behind on your videos cuz of work. I'm so glad I'm actually more on time this time. Maybe I'll actually be in the running. Thanks again I've watched all your videos. Sometimes not in order, like I swear I just saw your one about practice practice practice ep69 (it came up first on my feed) then I saw this one ep68. Anyways keep up the amazing work chica 👌 much love besos 😘
I started with polygel because it would allow me more time to manipulate the product. Polygel is super easy to work with once you get the hang of it. I love polygel on myself but prefer acrylic when doing other people's nails; seems like the process is quicker; polygel is easier to file though. I LOVE these colors Vee; Good Job!
I've never tried polygel, just because I'm a beginner and I really want to perfect my skills with acrylic. Although I know nothing will ever be 100% perfect. But I would love to try it out. You and other youtubers I watch make it look so easy.
They both have their pros versus cons but I LOVE polygel. The fact that I can work with it as long as I need too and it doesn't harden until I cure it in my lamp. Love your content & as always beautiful set! ❤💅
I have not tried it before, I just started practicing with acrylic.. is hard but I’m passionate about it and as you say I’m “PRACTICING PRACTICING PRACTICING” love all your videos 💜🙌🏻
You did an OUTSTANDING job for your first time!! Been working with polygel for a while now and I definitely love the one bead method. 3 beads just takes up too much time and too much blending work. Great video overall💗💗
Love it! You really are so talented as you make everything look so easy! It didn’t even seem like your first time using poly gel. I realized for me that if I use the incorrect amount of slip solution/alcohol it makes the poly gel super sticky. Too little or too much.
Yes I’ve tried polygel. I love polygel, especially this brand. I have the pink, green and their almost pink natural collections and it’s so great. The slip solution from gelish is awesome and rubbing alcohol the 90%. It takes time figuring out a method of application that works for you but when you figure it out it’s awesome. You can’t pat on it hard or it gets messy. It’s an awesome product though. ❤️ Your designs are amazing queen. Keep being awesome. Also this product is one where slip solution is the number one thing you need to move the product around amazingly. It lasts long when applied well. You can do the same things with polygel as you do acrylic and I usually use the clear polygel to encapsulate my designs as well. To clean the brush you can use the alcohol and acetone. That’s what I did. But each time I’ve bought their products I get the forms and new brush and new file as well. I prefer polygel over acrylic but I find you get more options with the acrylic. Polygel is more easier to use based on the fact that it doesn’t dry as fast as acrylic.
I stop doing my nails years ago and decided to start using polygel during qurantein and I LOVE it. Still trying to perfect my application. You did a great job!
I have never tried it before! I actually have been wanting to try it. I like how it won’t harden until you cure it. Almost the same concept as acrylic. And I also love the gel! 😊
Polygel is lot of fun to work with! I love using all kinds of implements however, polygel is so easy and less messy! It’s a great way to learn how to sculpt with paper or plastic nail forms!
I love this and yes! I do think it can be easier to use than doing regular acrylic nails, but again it take practice... would love to see more design done like you do the flowers
i used polygel before and i prefer acrylic because the adrenaline rush of moving fast before it dries. it excites me to use acrylic. but for people who have weak nail beds polygel is the way to go. love your videos Vee cant wait for the next one
As a beginner nail tech, I loveee your videos because they are so helpful. I have used poly gel before with dual forms and loveeedd how the nails came out! It just took me a little bit of practice to get them to look how I wanted :) Especially since it was so sticky!
I have used both polygel and acrylic and i would choose polygel over acrylic. The filing process for the polygel is way easier! You made it look easier than it really is though😃💕💕
I love love love polygel!!!! Makartt systems are amazing and my fav is the glow in the dark one. I use this on myself when I want something cute and quick.

Modelones, Gershion, ECBasket, Gelish, Enailcouture, SXC and Madam Glam polygels are all SO much easier to work with in my opinion. One very helpful tip I found is to use base coat gel as your slip and it helps SO MUCH. ESPECIALLY for Makartt!

How exciting for you 😀 wish you all the best with your nail journey💜
You are both so sweet thank you sooo much. I definitely need to practice practice practice. But I feel in love with the process! 🥰
Alma Elisa yes practice is key ✨
And I’ve noticed that my brush gets weird when I use too much slip solution if that helps at all😊
How do you remove the polygel? Are you able to soak it off or do you need to use the nail drill?
T Quail Same as acrylic. Soak off or drill.
I’m not sure just yet I’m still learning both, but I think acrylic is winning. * whisper *” plus it quicker”😂😂
Try Gershion or Model Ones polygel. Much easier to work with. Makarrt is always messy.
Yes Polygel is hard at the beginning but after practicing you start to get the hang of it, love how this turned out!
Omg, tysm for your acrylic videos
Today, 14 years old i tried acrylic for the first time and i got it, my beads were all perfect, my acrylic leveled perfectly and i had to do the smallest amount of filing. Tysm for your videos vee!!
I've never used polygel, and seeing a pro like you struggle makes me even more hesitant. 😭
For the base coat application, you were correct because the polygel sticks to the base coat and without it the polygel would either not cure fully or peel off the top right away.. and also, I love you so much!! 🥰
Early birds where you at? 🖐 I've always waited to try polygel for the thought of it being easier to use than acrylic.
It’s just a personal preference.. in my opinion polygel is easier since it doesn’t cure unless put under uv/led nail lamp meanwhile acrylic dries almost instantly
For me I honestly hate using poly gel, it’s very time consuming to do on yourself and taking them off is a hassle since you can’t soak them off.
Hey! Polygel is what I started nails with. I prefer it over acrylic because I still work pretty slowly and with polygel, I have all the time I need to shape it to my liking. This set came out great btw 💜
The background music reminds me of “reign” on Netflix lol I really just love here 😂
So funny, I was thinking the same thing but couldn’t remember where I heard it from until you mentioned the name of the show. It’s one of my favs!!
What’s the name of that adorable song
Omg Vee this set is so pretty, especially since it’s your first time working with polygel you did awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I’ve never used poly gel 😖but I want to since it looks a little simpler than acrylic which is what I use at the moment.
I’m a beginner & I find that polygel works pretty good once you get the hang of it. I’m teaching myself to use acrylic also, so it’s about 50/50. 😊
i’ve never used poly-gel, however i do desire to try & get used to using it. i feel like i need to master my acrylic application before doing so, but i may just be limiting myself which i don’t want to do. your application, though you weren’t accustomed to the product, came out FLAWLESS! nail enthusiast goals, for real! you’re always super informative & articulate, thank you for doing what you do.
I’m so glad you did a Poly video...can’t wait for more chica.
I am in LOVE with this design! The colors are amazing 🤩
Honestly this is the best review on this product that i have seen so far! Aced it.
I have only tried acrylic but ain’t gonna lie polygel does look fun to work with 🤨 keep killing it 💪🏽💪🏽😍💅🏽
I have never tried it before!
I stumbled across your channel & I've been binge watching all day. I'm excited by your work as my desire to learn increases.
I started using polygel about month ago and i'm obssessed. At first it was a bit tricky but now so easy. Love ittttt😊😊😊😊😊
I like both, I like that I can take my time with poly gel. what I like about working with acrylic is that your brush doesn't get sticky.
You definitely “NAILED IT’ VEE!👍😁
I love love love polygel!!!! Makartt systems are amazing and my fav is the glow in the dark one. I use this on myself when I want something cute and quick.
I’ve never seen anyone use poly gel like this before iam amazed on how you put it on top of tipped nail and did the process exactly like Acrylic wow I’ve been using poly gel on myself but I do lazy girl method and also do original method which is with nail forms and underneath method but this is great definitely gonna try next time ❤️
I’ve never tried Polygel even though I’ve watched so many videos. It’s nice to see a first timer using it so I’ve been inspired to try now. Thank you Vee ❤️
When doing nails on myself I preferred poly gel because you have so much time to work with it. It gets way easier the more you work with it Vee😂❤️.(Edit: for this to be your first time using it you did really good😍😍😍)
I’ve tried different polygels and I always be up coming back to acrylic. I didn’t use any nail forms with the polygel, but in my opinion acrylic is easier to work with! Absolutely love your channel!! 💜💜🦋
i just started using polygel and i love it! i think it’s easier to work with as far as building goes. can’t wait to keep practicing with it!
I love using poly gel on myself using the forms, it’s super easy because it shapes itself. I prefer to use acrylic on my clients! Love your videos! 😍
I love polygel!!!! It’s how I began my journey on being self taught. I’m learning how to use other methods but polygel will forever be my fave 💗☺️💅🏾
I’ve tried poly gel many times 🙌🏼 It’s my go to method because it’s just easier to work with when I’m doing my own nails 😊 and there is no odor to it which is a plus for me
I love polygel! I haven’t tried acrylic yet because I wasn’t confident in how quickly they can set, I use the lazy girl method which really helps with mess ☺️ it’s essentially using full tips instead of dual forms
I am obsessed by the polygel idea and the technique and watched probably every single tutorial about it. I ordered a polygel kit and a lamp ,, i got the kit but my LED lamp is Still on the way 😩 i cant wait till i have it and start using it 🥳 your tutorial was sooo useful thank you i think am ready to do polygel now ❤️😍❤️
I have used a variety of poly gels and have found that although I LOVE Makartt, theirs is the stickiest I have used.
I have not tried polygel , it looks a bit more difficult than acrylic which I love! I would most definitely like to try out working with polygel though someday soon! Hope I'm blessed with this🙏🏻❣ Thanks for all your advice Vee, always inspirational doll💋
I’ve never used poly gel and I want to try it so badly😂 you and everyone else makes it seems that it’s so easy to do at home and I wanna give a try. All I use is just acrylic like you girl!❤️
Great video. I am a gel tech and have tried a little acrylic as well as couple poly gels. It seems some poly gels are much stickier than others. No two are created the same. Thanks for the video!
