I just wish people realize how good its grounded tap shots actually are at painting, they seem to tunnel vision on the bad trail it leaves. You dont need to do weird things like pointing up at the sky 😂 shooting normal accomplishes literally the same thing but its laid down farther from you
@@QwertyS3 I quite like the kit it has currently, Not entierly sure what playstyle you're looking for in the class as I don't see bombs pairing too well with it since the built in explosions already provide zoning and chip damage, Wall or Sensor with Wave Breaker perhaps?
It's really funny, I'm an explosher main and when this game came out, I instantly connected with the stringer. I still prefer the explo on splat zones because it paints better, but the stringer is my new Tower Control main.
When I finally was able to play rank mode, what you are doing with the bow is essentially what the bow mains would do. It would deny entry to an area and if one continue to go it will alert the enemy team and make you easy pickings for that team slayer or mid range. I felt the brunt of the bow at the desert map in zones where it was a bow, Hydra, blaster, and bath tub weapon. It was horrible.
Thank you dude you happened me finally get out of the shooter, bucket and brush class, I wanted to try something more calm so I don’t get upset much this worked magnificently
Any weapon can be very good if you work on it and try to be consistent, as someone who has been testing this weapon I can say that it is good. Thanks DUDE for bringing us a new video, it helps a lot.
Yup this is exactly how I play this weapon. I do feel like some players expect the bow user to be getting picks. We're here to crowd control! We'll support your pushes and skirmishes, you just need take advantage of us harassing the other team with explosions! (We're like an explosher)
When Dude was saying disruptor and my Splatoon 1 mind was saying "this is the correct word for this sub" xD And I only remembered it was toxic mist when Dude mentions it. I really like Tri-Stringer, but I wished it painted just a little more. Its really fun for Tower Control.
i really like bow, but i think too much for myself and go for the status symbol kills instead of helping out with explo rounds. this really helped me have a change of strategy :)
I really love tri stringer on rainmaker and tower control. You just put your shots in the way and the enemy team is forced to back up or take a fight with paint behind them and chip damage. It's like a delayed burst bomb on a stick
IMO, The TriStringer seems to be a hybrid of the Chargers defensive sniping capabilities, Splatlings offensive firepower and long lasting area denial, and Exploshers supportive Chip Damage that can make teams so aggressive. Thats why to effectively play this weapon, you have to know how to play like all 3 of them, and when to effectively switch between the three styles of play when the situation suits you best. However, it will never be quite as good as just one of them... Longer Charge Time than Charger and drastically more difficult handling. Less AOE Than Explo, as well as having to reach a midlevel Charge first. Much less damage and paint than a Splatling and much less effective with the gear ability "Run Speed Up". If you cant switch between at least TWO of the weapons three skillsets, you may want to use a different weapon, as the TriStringer may give you some trouble. Thats MY interpretation anyways, and I do play Stringer a good amount, but the weapon is a bit difficult to understand, and I see an overly large amount of players completely skim over the Charger playstyle just because its less effective than the weapon literally built for it, and then go to chip damaging with Stringer when Explos literally built for that. IMO you need to be able to use all 3... thats one of the many reasons they call it The Tri Stringer!
The Bow can be used for sniping pretty good, too. It depends on the team composition. You have to be flexible. Only slayer weapons in our team? - I'm your anker, baby! Everything covered by my team? - I'm your support and will deny access to important areas! That weapon is very good for people like me, who like to mix things up. The variability keep things fresh 👍🏻😁
i just wanna say how excited i get when u post a video 💀 as someone attempting to get into competitive play, ur videos are SO helpful so thank u so much ur the best
I played stinger for a while and that's the best way of playing. Trying to snipe with it is difficult but the half charge shot is really good for control.
I actually think tri-stringer is fine for zones in a lot of maps. Except the ones with the really large zones tbh. It might not paint very fast, but it can paint a decently large area with the first ring charge, you can paint from a decent distance, and the paint is sticky, because the exploding arrows actually paint twice, once when they land and again when they explode. When I play zones I use LDE and 2 mains 1 sub of ink saver main, and very often I get #1 zones inker. That said, I understand that there are way better options for the mode.
I think something useful to mention would be thermal ink because most of the time your doing chip damage so thermal helps in case a shooter runs away, especially since flankers are dangerous for bows if the come unexpectedly.
I've been maining this weapon during is comp season, though I agree with using rounds for AOE control, you are still missing opportunity to kill opponent behind cover and remove them from the field entirely. On a good round, I have been know to have a K:D of 4:1 and 3:1 a match and till get splatt assist medal. Knowing when to pick out a kill, with a jumpshot, and when to support with AOE is important. Spamming rounds only gets you so far.
I’m not a tri stringer expert but I found out that only the first ring adds damage and because of the fall of properties the weapon if you jump shot all of the shots will land it the same place. These two factors allow you to get some really nasty partial charges.
On rainmaker the tristringer's explosive arrows do quite a bit of damage to the shield, so if shooting right as you half charge you can pop it extremely fast, although you'd have to shoot much closer
Definitely thinking of maining tri-stringer, especially for rainmaker. Object shredder let's the bow absolutely destroy the rainmaker shield and helps it contribute more to that initial map control.
tri string main here. the crabtank is the sitting duck against a tristinger. u can one or two shot hin from top. same with vacum (but you will need perfekt distance) also it is really Importent to know where the Enemy is "save".Beside controling exit tri string job is it to make sure the cover is not available for enemy.
Tri-Stringer is the best weapon for player who sux using sniper. It doesn't need sniper accuracy but have range close to any sniper except eliter. It is best for back liner and support. Can kill much better then jet squelcher. This weapon quickly become my primary weapon in splatoon 3.
The bow felt like anathema to me, charger-and-splatling-lass that I am...Until I played a bunch with it and now it's a trifecta weapon. Reeflux is fun, but...I like the Tri more! Can go all over the place and be annoying AF in ways Reeflux can only do with missles
I've notice that some really good stringer users play the area denial game real hard. Like, either if they are on my team or the enemy team, a well placed stringer can have the same effect of suppressing a enemy team similar to a charger taking the high ground and that little laser point scanning the area.
I use the Tri-Stringer in Rainmaker, because of Toxic Mist. Even it did not paint or make damage, but it's slow down the carrier alot. I using that strategy since S2.
After playing hundreds of hours of Horizon Zero Dawn & even more of Zelda BOTW, my mind cannot comprehend how the bow or tri stringer cannot be a slaying weapon 🤔
Thank you for making a video about this weapon. I really want to get good with this weapon. I love bows and archery in games. So help me I’ll be good with it one day…!!
Can someone please talk about the reef-lux? I see so many people talk about the longer range tri stringer, and it has such a diffrent play style than the reef-lux, and nobody plays it or talks about. The only tips I've found is gear recommendations, and when you should use horizontal, or vertical shots, and both have helped so much but there are still problems that I keep finding.
I only use tri-stringer if there any good map that I have listed down but some how the map is not that great for the tri-stringer to be played on but I use if I take go killer mode 😑
Tbh my winrate with Trislinger in RM is insane. Unlike TC where the path is 100% predetermined, in RM you really want to manipulate which path the enemy chooses/cut off and deny paths, which is fundamentally what this weapon is made for. If the flow of the game is against you, a weapon that can slow down/impeads the enemy can really help your team push back in or defend. Toxic Mist/Wail/Charged rounds as a coorinated combo is a great rm push maker. Besides that, the more predictable movements in RM make jump OHKOs more viable. It's probably one of the modes I'd say that it's better than explosh for, because exploshers can't get a OHKO. We're still in the early days and this is a new weapon class. Your solo q trislinger teamates will get less painful to play with later on.
I'm glad the dev team is taking it' time, everyone cried for a bow buff when the game first came out now the general consensus is that this weapon is fine. imagine what we'd be dealing with if it had gotten a buff

Bow is definitely a good long range weapon to keep pressure on the enemy team. I still prefer shooters and splatlings with rapid fire.
I treat it mostly like an explosher, less about getting 1 shots and more about area denial with a unique projectile arch
