    Remember Plaza Accord in 1985?? under which Japan, France, Germany, the United Kingdom and the US agreed to push the value of the US dollar down against the Japanese yen. Japan was at the time an exporting powerhouse. Japan ran a large trade surplus and was blamed for US job losses. There were fears in Washington that Japan would overtake the US as the world’s largest economy. After the accord, Japan went into the " Lost Decade" that is economic stagnation and high debt. So the US is not new in undermining other economies. You are an ally to the US until you are its slave.

    Me thinks it's better to have China dependent on USA than go it's own way. Take the example of the ISS, the US made it it's mission to deny China a position in the ISS. The hope was that the block would slow or stop China's space plans but that clearly backfired and now China has its space station. I think the same will happen with this entanglement.

      Great for China, bad for US Tech giants. China has been wanting to build up domestic chip companies but that will require a lot of subsidy and tariff on foreign import to work, which would have been seen as unfair trade practice by the international community. Now, the US essentially ban its own export of chip to China and force its own allies to do the same. This gives China the free reign to do all the subsidy it wants to support its own domestic chip industry and achieve its long goal of becoming a strong player in the chip industry.

      su suwinner - Easier said than done. The same can be said for China - tell me, why the heck would CNY make an American the bad guy in their #1 action film (Wolf Warrior 2), if they seek peaceful cooperation instead of “Wolf Warrior Diplomacy”? When, it was trade with America in the first place that has employed tens of millions (if not hundreds of millions) of people in their home country via factories & supplier networks, and helped to lift them out of poverty? CNY has not played by the rules of fair global trade and has now become even more desperate, it would seem - resorting to nothing short of biting the hand that has fed it for so long - and is now seen as the aggressor in most of the Western world. Even Japan is siding with USA now. Look up the Thucydides trap.

    • @4040tee
      @4040tee 3 роки тому

      @@christopherarmstrong2710 and how many american films have demonized people of other races? America didn't "lift" china out of poverty, america needed china on their side against the soviet union, and america alongside its aligned countries were facing economic crisis in the late 60s, 70s and china fulfilled that role. China provided a key role in the globalized economy. The thucydides trap as a theory manifests itself as america retaliating against china's rise, so if your trying to use it as some reason to hate china the aggressor within that theoretical paradigm would be america. It is hilarious that you think that the global economy is essentially the act of america feeding other countries prosperity lol. America enforced the naval trade routes and permitted trade over them, but that was no favor. America gained its sole superpower status in part THROUGH china's cooperation.
