Back in 2011 when I first bought Fifa I was playing as Random teams & found a 18 year Coutinho in the Inter Squad, he was so good I'm happy he got his Champions league but his career has been kind of disappointing
As a Bayern fan, I was happy with him overall. If he had been affordable and happy to not necessarily start every game, I would have been happy for Bayern to keep him.
Wish Phil all the best at Villa and wherever he lands afterwards..he's a top footballer and love him to death but for me imo it's a prime example of the grass not always being greener on the other side. As a liverpool fan to see him trade in the formidable attacking football he was a part of and to leave a team with a promising future to go play in Barca made no sense to me. I wish him and Gerrard the best. Two Anfield Legends
Aston Villa has one of the most interesting squads in the league at the moment. You could even say Europe. If their attacking players hit form they will become very fun to watch.
Josep bartomeu’s obsession with signing Coutinho at any price was moronic from the word go. He was never worth the money Liverpool demanded for him and even though he could play on the left he wasn’t the sort of pacey winger Barca needed to replace the injured Dembele who had replaced Neymar. Barca already had Denis Suarez who was actually a much better player at that time than his loan at arsenal would later suggest. Even if Barca had tried to play him in the role Iniesta had occupied it would have been trouble because in Barca’s system the more attacking of the midfield interiors still requires a degree of defensive discipline that Coutinho lacks. He plays best in a free attacking role behind the striker which is a role that doesn’t exist in the way Barca play. In fact Griezmann plays best in a similar role as does Messi however Messi is better than both of them. Barca really needed top quality wide forwards which Coutinho and Griezmann were not. But Bartomeu’s thinking seemed to boils down to “play them on the wing until they adapt and become world class there for us”. Against weaker teams they could blag it because Messi could bail the team out with a late goal but against top draw opposition on the champions league that approach failed and was brutally exposed
Or that real Madrid who have a injury crisis, is terribly run. Considering James Rodriguez, bale, jovic, isco etc. Suddenly outsiders despite how good they are. And Barcelona dogey financial condition, management. However their youth it still going good. Not how I remember these 2 giants. It was only 4 years ago real madrid was untouchable. Right now they are cementing their cracks but still.
I really wish Coutinho comes back stronger than every. When he first came to Barca I was excited we were going to get a very creative midfielder but wasn’t played in his preferred position but now at Aston villa I hope he really does come back and shows the world what we missed out on at Barca
Ernesto Valverde ruined Coutinho. Bartomeu may have ruined Barca and indirectly Coutinho but Ernesto Valverde's 4-4-2 tactic is what really killed Coutinho. Pressure from price tag and expectation came after that stupid 4-4-2 tactic.
Easily Coutinho's best spell at Barcelona was right after he was signed; playing in a 4-4-2 under Valverde. Valverde switched to a 4-3-3 the following season, when Coutinho's downfall really begun. So no, it was not the 4-4-2.
@@Xasew coutinho has to play on iniesta position that was the best position for him and he can do that. Valverde destroyed coutinho he dont know how to use him.

His CV reads Inter Milan, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern .. 4 of the most iconic clubs the world has ever seen. Not too shabby for Phil
Ac Milan are bigger than inter Milan

ja Aston Villa also have more CL trophies than Man City.
He was Brazil’s best player in the 2018 World Cup. Too bad mismanagement and injury damaged his Barça career. Hoping he gets his form back with Villa!
Good for him liverpool.

He's played for Inter, Liverpool, Barcelona and Bayern Munich. I'd say his career has been quite good.
He shall rise again at Villa
As a Bayern fan, I was happy with him overall. If he had been affordable and happy to not necessarily start every game, I would have been happy for Bayern to keep him.
I’m so happy for Phil I was jumping up and down when he scored 😂🥺 it was just amazing to see and I think he deserves a second chance

Think going to a place where he's loved is all he needs 💪

Hazard & Coutinho are examples that playing for Barca & Real Madrid is a diffrent level

It's hard to judge because United can't defend to save their life but Coutinho and Buendia looked terrifying together

Great timing 👏

Rise, fall and resurrection **
I mean he has a lot of talent but he has lacked goals since he left Pool. If he gets the chance he might become the player he once was but in Villa.

It is more the philosophy that counts and Coutinho didn't fit in
What nonsense is this. Did Barca destroy Henry, Ronaldinho or Suarez career?
