I think the game is a comment on how someone's zealous obsessions can overtake them to the point that they have confirmation bias in everything they see and they eventually lose themselves to their obsession. The "angel" in the game I believe is a manifestation of the characters last shred of self/logic/common sense warning them that if they progress any further, their obsession will consume them whole and there's no turning back.

It's maybe actually obvious, but i think the game is about the creator of life being not exactly that we humans imagine: some understandable and more or less comprehensible God, but rather something alien/eldritch, far beyond that we could understand, maybe something malice even, and the "fall from grace" is actually distancing from such monstrosity, not other way, and ascend to "God" means become part of this horror, and this is beginning of humanity, and end as well, there is no other way to go for us, we can only suffer in state of incomplete mortals as we are now, or return to our eldritch origin and be part of it. My theory is that the main character is given a choice by the yellow angel: either continue to try to understand God, and in doing so shed your ability to think and reason to return to the "womb", which is the state of humanity before Adam tasted the fruit of the tree of knowledge and was "born" into the mortal world, or retain your humanity and leave. It's the Lovecraftian idea that trying to know or understand something that humanity was never meant to understand transforms you into something no longer really human, except instead of Cthulu, it's the Christian God.
I wonder if the first guy, is implied to have become one of the creatures you see? So perhaps the skull is what is left from the person who died, and the diving gear is what is left behind because it was 'no longer needed' much like how our character 'no longer needs' the diving gear. The human mind is a curious thing. As the saying goes, sometimes ignorance is bliss. He went looking for something and may have found it, but he won't be able to remember he was looking for it. So perhaps he found it AND the trap is that once you find the thing, you no longer remember your humanity in the first place.
I would love for the Grumps to play The Haunting ft. Polterguy on the Sega Genesis. It’s a quick play where you haunt items to scare a mean family out of their home and it lends itself to a lot of great content for them to riff on. Hopefully some day.

Everyone’s here saying Arin sounds like his uncle, but I spent this whole episode trying to remember an NPC from KOTOR the voice reminded me of before shouting “ZELKA FORN” to my empty living room around minute 12, looking the voice actor up to make this comment. It’s Daran Norris.

I’m so hyped for the ghoulie grumpies for this year🎃🎃🎃
Arin was dangerously close to the Skeletor voice again and i think he knew it 😂😂
Everyone’s here saying Arin sounds like his uncle, but I spent this whole episode trying to remember an NPC from KOTOR the voice reminded me of before shouting “ZELKA FORN” to my empty living room around minute 12, looking the voice actor up to make this comment.
It’s Daran Norris.

8:58: HEY MAN, like... don't kill this guy's high, he's totally on the next plain right now and you're bringing him down with a YOU CAUGHT ONE FISH? His bliss is LEADING HIM TO HIS DESTINY, OKAY????
Nice of you guys to invite Skeletor back for another episode of Ghoul Grumps
"I'm looking pretty good" with the eye lol that was funny
Joking aside this is a pretty interesting concept. There's a few stories where humans try to find God or angels and when humans even catch a glimpse they are driven to madness because God and angels are always depicted as inconceivable to the human eye or brain.
Considering the way angels are sometimes described in the Bible, I wouldn't be too surprised if some of them looked like squids w/ human faces.
........ WELL, You know what IS art?? NSP having the first credit outro of Big Mouth S6! That's so fucking cool Dan!! Congrats!! ✨
Happy Ghoul grumps! 🎃
"Welcome to my parents house" is on Bigmouth?? Congratulations, Danny!

If only the show was good.
this is what goes through every dude's mind when they post a photo of themselves holding a fish on tinder
The way Arin says Sift sounds exactly how Jerma says "s c o r n"
S C O R N
Who?

Also, missed opportunity that Homebody isn't ready for Halloween.
After all this time of watching these two grown men playing video games since 2016, I did not realize that Game Grumps could also be GG.
This went 0 to a 100 very quick. You find a fish and then one of these deep sea Magnapinna and it talks to him lol
Yames's games are such beautiful and bizarre experiences, they often leave you thinking more than often
So Arin going as Skeletor for Halloween, will Dan be his He-Man
He's got the hair for it
This just in: Skeletor is actually the same person as Cecil HH Mills
I'm curious, is there a reason for not putting the game's name and link in the description? I know that you can see the title if you look at the tags, but in case UA-cam makes hashtags less visible to viewers in the future, I think it would be a good idea to put the name towards the top of the description. Plus, I think it's a nice courtesy to the creators to have the title & link more visible
