In the tradition, when a Guru and a disciple play together, it is not approached as a duet. But as a concert of the Guru where the disciple is accompanying. The success lies there. At one time in Kolkata Ustad Imdad Khansahab used to perform accompanied by his disciples and sons Ustad Enayat Khansahab and Ustad Wahid Khansahab. Later Ustad Vilayat Khansahab used to perform accompanied by Ustad Imrat Khan and Ustad Rais Khan and sometimes accompanied by Pandit Kashinath Mukherjee. The disciples' job was always to understand the mood of their Gurus and accompany accordingly. ✨️🎶
