Thanks John. you are correct, I do need good wifi to work on the videos and upload! We have been lucky that we have been able to get them out, but anticipate being in some areas of the Loop that we might not make a Wednesday drop! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Very nice videos. Not too much chatter, just enough. The cruising comments are great. You two have the right attitude -- avoid long days underway except when necessary, walk around the ports you stop in, and take a day or two off from cruising regularly. Thanks for sharing.
I was stationed at Camp Lejeune for 8 years & drowned lots of worms in the inlets ! Thanks for the memories of the ‘River ! After Lejeune , I worked The Dismal Swamp with USMC SF for a year before going to Norfolk for my final 3 years where ii worked with the Navy!! Sadly the 2 brigs at Lejeune have torn down & replaced with a newer smaller facility . You are an excellent motivator to make this old salt go on a vacation !
Haha Debbie, remember taping the soap operas back in the day and then watching them at night after work??? Those were the days!!! Thanks so much for watching, you are definitely our biggest fan! 🙂
Thank you John ,that's so kind of you! We have fun making the videos and just want to share our journey and make it interesting! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Your videos are the bright spot in my day!! Thank you for sharing your adventure. When you get to KY Lake I hope to be able to meet you and say hello. We have a house and much smaller boat there and love the area. In the meantime, hope you will have many safe and sunny days!!
Hey Jenna!! Thank you for your kind words! When you see us getting close to your place in KY Lake, let us know and we can hopefully meet you guys! We hear great things about your lake and look forward to seeing it! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Hello! That's so cool! Have you eaten their fried chicken at the Alligator River Marina?? We kept hearing how great it was, and it sure was good! Thanks for watching! 🙂
Thank you - yes, it really is - we are so fortunate to be able to do this, and we are having the time of our lives! It's not fun and games every single minute, there are some stressful times, but overall it's definitely an amazing adventure! Thanks so much for watching! 🙂
We are from Austin but have a place in Port A. We are looking at some boats in Kehma & Seabrook. We have a place in Port Aransas and may start from there. We would love to visit with y’all about the journey from Texas to Florida. We hope to be at The AGLCA rendevoux in the Fall if y’all are going to be there. If not, maybe a quick chat when y’all are laid up for bad weather? Anyway, love your videos and have safe passages!
Hey there! We are planning to be at the AGLCA Rendezvous in the fall! We would definitely chat with you regarding Texas to Florida! Find us when you get there! Thanks for your kind words of support and we appreciate you watching! 🙂
Hi Tim, thanks to you and your wife for watching! Unfortunately Cool Beans was not wired up for internet when we bought her and we thought we'd just see how it went with our cell phone hotspots (unlimited data) and also marina wifi. So far so good, although Chris would say that he would love to have Starlink! I would too but we'll keep it as a maybe for now, if we feel like we need it, we will stop and get it! 🙂
I have enjoyed following your adventure, thanks for sharing. I actually live just down the road from you all close to Galveston and hope to follow in your wake here in a couple of years. I'm retiring in 13 days and will start the process of looking for a boat in the next couple of years. I have a lot of experience navigating the bays around Galvetraz and going out into the gulf but I would like to work on getting my captain's license, can you recommend any training services in the Kemah/Galveston area's? Any other suggestions on additional training that I might want to look into before starting out on the loop? Safe travels!
Hey there, thanks for watching! Awesome that you are retiring very soon and planning to Loop! I think your best bet would be to speak with other captains in your area and find out how they got their licenses. We don't have a Captains license but there are many in the Kemah area, so it shouldn't be hard to find one! I would recommend that you join the AGLCA and read all the literature they offer, there are so many things to know on the loop about the different areas we travel and the AGLCA has it all organized on their website, podcasts, and videos! 🙂
Appreciate you taking the time to document this. I know editing takes forever and then have to have good wifi to upload.

I believe I heard Lisa speak of a radar mast, if so when anchored do you have a collision alarm?
We do not have a collision alarm, but thanks for giving me one more thing now to worry about!!! 🤪
