Watching Quill18 Videos is so freaking relaxing. There is something about watching some one who knows exactly what they are doing just allows you to sit back and turn your mind off.
Anytime I make a map on Civ6 its always so shitty but quill always gets these nice cool maps with mountain ranges that can actually be used as a defensive structure and shit
good luck. the strategy for early Persian dominance completely depends on the element of surprise. so you need to do this: 7 warriors (all the while storing your gold) rush swordsmen (you do not need iron but it is nice for the boost) and upgrade to 6 immortals. leave the last warrior so he can take cities; immortals are ranged units with zone of control. now declare surprise war and advance on the city. Immortals also get the Melee promotion tree. which means you get the promotion "reduce ranged attack dmg" so your immortals become bulky and can travel around a city taking multiple bombardments before it becomes dangerous for the unit. easy siege, easy life.
I've never played Civ 6 and I could only really beat King on Civ 5, but my initial impression is if you want Petra on Deity, you have to rush Mathematics early and mercilessly, or you'll never get it. (And, yes, I understand this was all over a month ago.)
One of the better start locations I've seen for a playthrough. I'd put a campus on the desert tile between 2 mountains instead of on the hill between 3 mountains (and city). City could do with a bit more prodn capacity
It's to compensate for the fact that the computer is incredibly stupid, bearing in mind he's playing on the highest difficulty. They can't make the AI more intelligent so they just let it cheat more egregiously.
The problem with AI is that it's not hard to make either a really stupid AI or a really insanely powerful AI. The difficulty is making an AI that behaves in a human way. One that has the right mix of making intelligent decisions without curbstomping the player. So what they usually do is take a lower-difficulty AI and give it significant boosts.
Enjoying all your videos that I have watched so far! I am new to Civ 6, just bought it a week ago. I play on the PS4, and have been a gamer since the 70's. I am learning alot from your videos. I watched your series for beginners. My question and confusion is that as I settle in new cities, why does it take so many turns to build at the new city? I am hoping to learn from watching this series of Persia and dominate the World, LOL!!!!
Apologies if this is redundant/obvious, but Immortals can't capture cities because they have a ranged attack. Be sure to have a chariot/horseman to take those cities :)
I》Before the Sumerians Over the plain hill and over the jank forest was founded of the settlers led by one man "Cyrus". We commissioned to stay in this hill of persia and call it "Pasagadae". His warrior men realized the tendency of the hot "desert" and call an adventure in the desert of "Nuna". After the days of the burden heat of Nuna, the warrior men saw fresh greenland of the river but they saw two groups of men that looks excatly alike them. They saw discovery that "we are not alone", they met the warrior men calling themselves the "Sumerians", a surprise to the "Persian" warriors. They said that the river there calling is "Uruk River" and they lived in a live village called "Uruk", Persian Men greeted. II》Before Code of Laws Persian Men moved across down in the Uruk River and met with the nomadic village which gave them golden gold. They encountered a barbaric men attacking with the Sumerian Men, they live saw a thing. Across home, young scout is hoping a great adventure which crossing the "Great Persian Plains" up to the greenland. With some days, the young scout encountered a group of men but they respect the young scout. They said that are the "Kandese" people of the village of Kandy, the young scout greeted. As the young scout left the Kandy warriors he saw water of patches and visited a nomadic village telling the secrets of "Masonry", young scout wonders. The two explorers found out there's a border vehind them, the "ocean". In the village, they found out animals can do the laundry work too and hoping to try it out as a benefit of the village. The Persian Men had awarded a "Book of Thoth" in a nomadic village, "This will be kept in the hands of Cyrus!" exclaimed Pasa. With the Book of Thoth, they found out to organize the village by Cyrus calling it "Chiefdom". Cyrus the Chief enacted discipline to the military and urban planning ot the village, hoping this will be the benefit of our village. III》Before Panthenon Of the village of Pasagadae with chiefdom, the menacing scout is trepassing the borders of Pasagadae. Warriors and Slingers attacked the poor scout. Speaking of scouts, the young scout call it "Zov" just met shy contact of one scoutie calling himself a "Scythian" and he live in Pokrovka with his queen "Tomyris". Zov greeted with friendly interaction. While in the village, the poor scout finally died in the hills of Persia naming it "Gkreg" and the slingers was tought with a great cheer with the people even Chief Cyrus is happy and thought making it longer. Zov with the Scythian Scout saw a menacing barbarian scout and Zov just attacked him.
Biggest thing I hate about civ 6 is all the war. I can't even go 50 turns before someone wants my stuff. One load put me in the middle of 4 civs that love war. All of which were right on top of me leaving very little room to grow. England being one of them lost 2 cities and gave me a bunch of money to stop. Working on making Japan disappear. I was going for culture victory but so far every game I've played forces domination.
Best neighbour ever! It's the ancient North Korea this Persia "we want another surprise war". The Immortal is an archer, trust me you cry when you kill all enemies and can't take empty cities with them (upgrades like swordsman and needs no iron still)...
Proper native pronunciation for Scythia is Skeefeeya. People living there - skiffs. The way you pronounce it, Sseesseeya, translates to "land of breasts"... I bet it gets a tourism bonus!
civ ai in a nutshell over prince difficulty byzantium: "hey wanna be freinds? i hate ethiopia so i'll happily kill them if you bribe me to do it with luxuries." me: "sure" *three turns later* byzantium: "OO DEECLAR WOOR ON YOO!"
Your UI looks noticeably different to mine. And things like, seeing how many turns it'll take to grow your borders isn't on my game. Do you have a mod installed that shows this info?
UltimateNobody Civ 5 is lit, this one is questionable. Give it time to get some updates, maybe drop it's price then think again. Until that time, try the No Quitters MOD for Civ 5, makes the game seem new, exciting and much quicker.
G. Eheime get it when it's on sale. Personally, it really grew on me. I didn't like it much at first but after learning it, it has several new layers of strategic depth
I do already know that, that's why I didn't ask if he was continuing with the China campaign. My question, if you'd read it, was if he was playing with the same settings, self-imposed rules as the China run.
He starts streaming at 12:00 Eastern Time on Saturdays, for anywhere from 2-6 hours. Saturday streams can be any game he likes, but there is often some Civ. He also streams Wednesdays starting at 2 pm Eastern Time, and that is always a Civ stream. He doesn't live stream on youtube, he streams on Twitch (link in the description.) The stream will eventually be edited into parts and uploaded to youtube.
cqui nightly does not work for me every time I meet another civ it does not show and just hangs on the map. if I exit to menu then I hear the dialog for a few secs before the menu kicks in. :(
Haven't seen play throughs of this game in a while and also haven't played it either. Is diplomacy between you and the AI still AIDS or do they not automatically hate you after three turns like Rome does on higher difficulties. Meet Rome, get asked why you aren't expanding, then get denounced for having no territory and possibly a war happens after. Does that kind of garbage still happen?

My heart always sinks at sight of 'To Be Continued'.
Not including my Sunday blackout. I am still on the couch watching videos while I try to recover. Thanks for the playlists.
Anytime I make a map on Civ6 its always so shitty but quill always gets these nice cool maps with mountain ranges that can actually be used as a defensive structure and shit
he doesn't show you how many times he restarted it though
"We have marble, that's marble-lous!" XD

What the fuck, the AI gets four free Civics?! Jesus they give the computer a lot of boosts...
It's to compensate for the fact that the computer is incredibly stupid, bearing in mind he's playing on the highest difficulty. They can't make the AI more intelligent so they just let it cheat more egregiously.
On deity level yeah, they gotta make it harder somehow
Everyone ignores the free eurekas that the AI gets; 4 science and 4 civic each era - on immortal so diety gets more.
I kinda wish they'd gone the second route, I'd be interested to see what an actually intelligent AI plays like.
I saw the tile giving faith and I instantly thought it was a wonder.
Wow, the music in this game. Love it!

Persia is another name for Iran btw.
Proper native pronunciation for Scythia is Skeefeeya. People living there - skiffs. The way you pronounce it, Sseesseeya, translates to "land of breasts"... I bet it gets a tourism bonus!
Cyrus' portrait looks like Peñas from Narcos.
persia is an amazing civ
civ ai in a nutshell over prince difficulty

byzantium: "OO DEECLAR WOOR ON YOO!"
yes! a new series!
what happened to the Sims playthrough?
what happened to mr Eighteen?
what happened to the China series?
Happens often in strategy games. Using a save from an older version can cause problems. Eu4 and Civ are good examples of this.
i heard the Spring Update ate it.
Can we receive map and game code and other neccesary info for start on same map ?
Cyrus is such a badass here
Would love to get seed and map info in the video description! I always see starts that I wanna try myself!
Hm... how would a Civic work with no unique units, but they can "adapt" the unique units of enemies they concor?
@quill18
I would love to see a hearts of iron IV series where you play The Netherlands!
that would be lovely
Prince of Persia feelings
Persia is just another name for Iran, and there is a lot more into this culture than a few white washing movies!
Candy...I remember you.
*sigh* I didn't know how to play before watching this and I'm still not sure how to play. Is there a good video to start with?
Damon Lee Gang he has a video on how to play somewhere
Or at least any link for save ? I can take codes from saved game by just starting multi game. Everything is written in options then
I was about to sleep... But, Quill.
Oh piece of kandy
I just started this series and um, i am not used to seeing you talk lol..I am goign to go make a sandwich then come watch more..
PETRAAAA!
How to choose it I can't find it in leaders please tell me
Your UI looks noticeably different to mine. And things like, seeing how many turns it'll take to grow your borders isn't on my game. Do you have a mod installed that shows this info?
How do you get the info under the leader icons at the top right? Thanks.
Nuke Alexander Kappa , avenge us!
Turns last forever
I have Civ V - is it worth upgrading to this game or not really?
UltimateNobody Civ 5 is lit, this one is questionable. Give it time to get some updates, maybe drop it's price then think again. Until that time, try the No Quitters MOD for Civ 5, makes the game seem new, exciting and much quicker.
I would like to get Civ6 - but so much hate about the game. Is the game so bad? should I stay with Civ 5?
G. Eheime get it when it's on sale. Personally, it really grew on me. I didn't like it much at first but after learning it, it has several new layers of strategic depth
imortals are the best unit in the game,i got them to level 4 easy.
we miss the loading of the game, does anyone know if he is continuing with the non-aggressive/culture victory he stated in the China Let's Play?
No, it was four episodes only. You would already know that if you'd read the video descriptions for the China game.
I do already know that, that's why I didn't ask if he was continuing with the China campaign. My question, if you'd read it, was if he was playing with the same settings, self-imposed rules as the China run.
What time does he go live tommrow and is it on UA-cam
He starts streaming at 12:00 Eastern Time on Saturdays, for anywhere from 2-6 hours. Saturday streams can be any game he likes, but there is often some Civ. What UI mods are you running?
What difficulty are you playing on in this series?

What mods are you using to make your interface look like that?
CQUI. You can find it in the workshop.
cqui nightly does not work for me every time I meet another civ it does not show and just hangs on the map. if I exit to menu then I hear the dialog for a few secs before the menu kicks in. :(
Jammer P happened the same to me, then I redownloaded it (since it updates "nightly") and haven't had that bug since
Update the mod, should fix it.

I once watched Quill frequently, but the damn subscriber popups and shoutouts is so extremely annoying. I was hoping this one didn't have that, but...
don't watch his streams then, easy fix, it literally warns of that in the beginning of the video
Already fixed, mr. fan-boy. Don't watch him anymore.
Book of thots ;)
shame the pacifist game fell through. would of made a change to the usual warmonger strategy :)
Hay sorry quillwork stop watching you
