Surprisingly, creativity is often the unsung hero in the corporate event space, yet unsurprisingly it is really an essential component - transforming potentially repetitious and mundane gatherings into engines of innovation - that are actually enjoyable to be a part of (novel, right?).
Beyond that, actually becoming involved in that creative process, even with something as childlike as a genuine old-skool arts+craft session, encourages unconventional thinking, leads to unique conversations and experiences, that can result in fresh+fab solutions… novel ideas that start seemingly small (and even a little silly), but then become essential as they propel a company (and sometimes even the world) forward.
Like, can you imagine a world that didn’t have the car, iPhone, satellites, Pop Tarts in them… but at some point, the people responsible for these life-changing inventions MosDef { • Chappelle's Show - Mos... } were in a room where multiple people went WTAF, you want to do what with what?
Poetry, music, art, creativity… all mixed together, for the purpose of bringing great people together, and then helping them connect. Fran, Woodzy, Chloe Carterr, Eames, Fuse… all added meaningfully to the blender, so that they can share the passion, and make people feel passionate. Even after the meeting itself is over, we worked with one of our favourite electronic artists, Tee Mango, so that we could secure some über fresh audio, never before heard anywhere, as the backing track for this little review snippet - but why? Because at the end of the day, how you do anything, is how you do everything. So you either really care about creative i/o, or you know… the other thing.
So there you have it… when team members feel encouraged to express their imaginative ideas without fear of judgment, - even when just utilising pipe cleaners, googly eyes, crayons and glitter to demonstrate their take on corporate brand mark) it leads to a more open and inclusive experience, and therefore culture. Sharing the art of creation, with others, is powerful - even when it’s not meant to be.
It brings laughter into the equation, especially when you get glitter on your tie, skirt, face, walls… it’s real, it’s human, it’s vital. It not only strengthens team bonds but also ensures those connections help support meaningfully the widest diversity of thought and execution.
Unique and wide-ranging perspectives manifested into being, in a safe, positive and life-affirming environment… yes, yessir… just always give me more of that please.

Thanks to Matt Edwards and all of the incredible team there, not only allowing us to play in their sandbox - but for consistently challenging us to deliver creative concepts and events that inform and inspire in equal measure, and be really playful whilst we’re about it… ‘cos if you’re not having a lot of fun doing the_thing… you are just 100% doing it wrong. Really… come on now.
