Can be beneficial due to the photographers and videographers being extremely familiar with the location and thus having the knowledge of best photo locations on site - they don't only photograph weddings, they are the same photographers hired for the Superbowl and F1 that also happened in Vegas

I feel like people who don’t live within an hour flight of Vegas see it as nicer than it is. Vegas weddings may be beautiful inside but once you leave the ceremony. Trashy. Bellagio is the nicest Vegas wedding I’ve been too but it’s still full on cigarette smoke infiltrating your clothes while seniors are mindlessly pushing buttons on slot machines on your way to reception. Just say no to a Vegas wedding. At best it’s 50% elegant and 50% trashy.

I've been to a ridiculous amount of weddings. Two of my favorites: one was held in an aquarium. Eating dinner while being watched by a beluga whale three feet away. The other was my BFFs wedding at a children's museum and we were allowed to climb all over kids equipment: the boat, fire truck, pirate ship and hippie bus. It was SO FUN. After the formal stuff was done and it was party time, there's a photo of the bridal party hanging out of all the bus windows and the jewish priest was the driver. There's also video of that photo being taken and during the chaos and laughing, the priest did the sign of the cross🤣

a wedding is so much work the stress is almost inevitable. i lowered mine many years ago by just copying my friends’ templates (with permission!) haha - photographer, flowers, dress designer, etc seriously the guests either don’t remember that it was a copy and paste wedding or they didn’t care. we had a good time, we kept within budget, and we got on with our new lives.

Gurl, $25,000 was more than my entire wedding budget! And they want to charge you that much just to MOVE the sun loungers??? Absolutely not! It's becoming more and more common nowadays to get courthouse married with parents and immediate family only and then a big ceremony and reception later. That's what my husband and I did since we got married during COVID. Wishing you the best on planning your wedding with your new ideas!

I planned our outdoor wedding on a napkin in one afternoon. Didn't plan for mother nature to throw a tantrum the entire day up to 40 minutes before the ceremony started though. Needless to say alcohol started being served as soon as the first guest showed up. I cut off the bottom of my custom dress because it was coated in mud and no dry cleaner would have been able to help... Live your best life at your wedding! Make the situation work for you!

One of the bridal cars broke down on the way to the synagogue - the proper vintage one I set my heart on - but ended up going in a vintage convertible white triumph who challenged my vintage Daimler to a race first away from the lights !!! Daimler stalled and wouldn’t budge - best thing that ever happened !!! 31 years later more in love than ever x x x

The venue in Vegas added an extra $25, 000 for moving chairs! Insane! I got married ten years ago and had the ceremony, cocktail hour, pictures, dinner all in a hotel. I planned the wedding all by myself and wanted to make easy and cost effective. It was perfect! I didnt have to worry about people getting lost or late going from one place to another. The hotel included fresh flower centerpieces, they used an excellent bakery for our wedding cake. I used my own DJ, my own photographer. I had no complaints and the food was great. As an American I am not offended by your comment about comparing churches in England and in Las Vegas. The churches in England are h7ndreds of years old if not thousands with so much character. Churches in America are a lot newer in comparison and some are more simple. Do whatever works for you and your fiancee in regards to your wedding. ❤ 😊

I had a big destination wedding planned but everything became SO stressful so you know what? We got married in Gretna Green (Anvil Hall) and hired the whole hotel for the reception. A fraction of the cost, a fraction of the stress and we ended up doing a massive west coast USA honeymoon. Which also included a stay at Bellagio (also wasn’t a fan. Do recommend L’ermitage Beverly Hills though!

My wedding was as low key as possible: civil ceremony, in our home and immediate family only. We’ve been married 30 years and I’m so glad my ceremony was low key: no stress and no fuss. Our daughter has just got engaged and is keen on a low key wedding as well. I think her fiancé would like to make it a bigger event, so they’ll have to find a gappy compromise. I’m sure they will.

GIRL - I got engaged last year. I've been putting my wedding plans on hold after my dream venue fell thru. Our guest list is going to be like 200+ people and the average cost per head is like $250 😂. I've had people I neither talk to nor like come up to me demanding an invitation! I'm seriously considering eloping if it weren't for my parents. My anxious, type A ass cannot deal at the moment. But hang in there! I'm sure your wedding will be absolutely marvelous!

Please do not stress about your wedding, it’s the marriage that matters. I’m from Leeds but we were living in New England when we got married and I arranged the wedding long distance in a pub in North Yorkshire. We only had 75 guests but if I were to do it over I would invite my sisters and a handful of very best friends only and it would be at a registry office. It’s our silver wedding anniversary this year, marriage rocks!

ABSOLUTELY WILD we ended up with the same wedding plan idea AND toured venues in October!! 😂 I agree that the communication is lacking as far as wedding team consulting with us at all prior to the event, but keep in mind that it IS Las Vegas we're talking about here and they are used to last-minute events. In our contract it specifically states that we arent required to finalize any plans until just 2 weeks prior to the ceremony date!
(We decided on Caesars Palace with a private Villa Reception if anyone was curious)

We love to dream, and that doesn’t happen, it crashes all our world….😳😂 look , the most important thing and I applaud you for that, that you guys still are getting married, this year! That’s what is the most important. Big venue its not so important. Your other half, your dress and closest family, that’s all it’s matter. Spending all that money, just take a trip around the world😜. I got married in Vegas, in October, almost 18 years ago, and yes weather was amazing. And we did very small thing, We could have done huge, but we decided not to…. We might renew wows, upgrade ring , and make it big m this year or so. Have a blessed day🙏❤️

Got married at the Vegas courthouse on a whim during a weekend trip in t-shirts, jeans, & tennis shoes 23 yrs ago this month. 6 yrs later to the date & day we had a small intimate traditional Catholic wedding & small reception, even the small gathering brought about unnecessary drama! We almost cancelled it 😂 Hang in there ❤️

We had a teeny tiny wedding in Vegas. Best decision ever. Everyone had a blast. We used their photographer and they were great. We even had a pianist 🤣. We don't ever look back on that day. It was great but we always look forward.
A wedding is a day, a marriage is forever. Keep things simple, and have fun. I don't ever think of my wedding day because we have had so many other amazing moments like our first child that makes that day seem mid.
Best of luck - but just do it. Your guest are just there to party and get free food. The only people that really care are immediate family and really close friends.

My husband and I had two 'weddings:' the first in the local Health Centre (for some reason, this is where the Civil Records folks are based, here in the Irish Midlands) with two friends as our witnesses, and then dinner and drinks around town. It was a lovely warm day and very 'us!'
Our second wedding was a few months later (when my family members could come over from the States) with a ceremony in the castle where we met, stopping off in a pub, and then dinner at another castle. The next day, we had a rock band in our backyard and a casual party. Totally worth it, felt personal, and far cheaper than a standard hotel/country club gig (which can be nice, but it wasn't right for us).

I actually think you will love the intimacy with just your fiancé and your parents at the courthouse , and you may opt out of doing anything at all.
I eloped in 2021 in Maui, and it was the best decision ever. I did hire a photographer and a videographer to capture the moment and I sent out an announcement (with pics) to all of the people who I would have invited to the wedding if I had one. No headaches and stayed within my budget. Best decision ever.

I dreamed of a elegant quaint wedding. that didn't happen for me either. you're right between planning and the sheer amount of money involved it just wasn't in the cards for me 😥 coming out of a pandemic lockdown where we were surviving literally on barely anything. there was no way we could financially make it happen how I envisioned. so... me and my husband opted for an ordained minister to do our exchanging of vowels and signing our marriage certificate along with my mother and my husband's father as our witnesses. we got married in the comfort our own home😁💙 2-22-2022

Good for you !! Planning a wedding is not easy. Do what feels right to you two!! My husband and I did the courthouse and for us it was the best decision we made. I still had the black dress I wanted to wear and still had the flowers as my mom surprised me with a black and white rose bouquet and she did get us a cake for afterwards. We went and had brunch with our families and it was great. Everything will turn out just the way you want it 😊. Great video.

Oh sweetie I totally understand. I just had my 7 year anniversary and thinking back it was so much stress and money . If we could have to do over I’d go private close small and a big ceremony . My daughter had the most beautiful wedding out doors with lights in trees and flowers and plenty room for everyone and reception and a band . And they were in control of who they wanted for photography. I’m sure once you do your own way it will be most beautiful and memorable ❤❤❤❤

We did a Phuket Destination Wedding, with hen and stag in Bangkok. The hotels there provide a free wedding planner and you’re just picking flowers and decor and they do the rest. We got a $100,000 US wedding for less than a tenth of the cost in Phuket

Get married before your wedding. Made my wedding amazing.
I was married on Microsoft Teams during Covid and had a very opulent Vegas wedding at the Encore. It was freaking amazing. Only had to deal with one team for everything. Also FYI winds in Vegas are INSANE in October. We planned outside reception with an inside bit for dinner but everything had to be inside because of the wind.
Just quietly get married and plan your wedding party. :)

Vegas local here. While Vegas is famous for its weddings, it’s not famous for its classy weddings. Unless you know someone and rent their mansion it’s hard to get a classy wedding in Vegas. My high school prom was held in one of these mansions. I think it was the heartland mansion. But there is also Liberace’s mansion. And you know that will hold the number of people you need cause senior class sizes are in the hundreds here. However; you could still do your bachelorette and bachelor party here. I use to work for a party planning company for these types of events so if you choose to do that, let me know, I’ll connect you with the owner. This way you get a little bit of your Vegas dream without the hassle of the wedding part. Just good memories with your favorite people!

I’m a 2024 bride too and although everything has been organised and is ready to go, I’m a bit over the planning process also, but that’s mainly because I was content have a very modest wedding but I’m the only child and my husbands the eldest son, so felt a little more pressure to have a traditional wedding. I’m sure your special day will be amazing and worth the wait ❤️

I just want you to have a beautiful day. When I got married, I let my mom plan it. It wasn't my first choice but she had great taste, I knew it would be fabulous and fancy, and she really wanted to do it. On the day, I was overwhelmed. Everything from flowers to the food to music was incredible. She made me a wedding for a princess. Whatever your dream is, I am excited for you to get it.

My wife and I officially got married by the Justice of the Peace (turned out they were located at the city prison so that was an adventure) then we got "married" in the Caribbean at a beautiful all-inclusive resort (just the two of us). We came back home and a few weeks later had a big party for all our family and friends. We did that up in grand style..my family heritage is Scottish and hers is Irish so I wore a Prince Charlie kilt outfit and she wore her wedding dress. We arrived at the venue by horse-drawn carriage as a bagpiper led the way through the city streets to the location. My wife said she felt like a princess because let's be honest, if you're in the city center and a horse-drawn carriage goes rolling by with a bagpiper...you gonna look. It was great because we feel like we got the best of everything and no one felt left out of the celebration.
