Very good. We must remember that the size is historically correct, perhaps even a little larger actually. In a world of bulky watches, having vintage sizes in a vintage style watch is refreshing.

Thanks for yet another great review! Man, Imma sucker for thin retro homage watches, and you flat sold me on this one! Gorgeous, super thin and right-sized on wrist with seemingly impeccable fit and finish, surprisingly good lume, and to top it off, 200m WR (not that I'll be swimming with it, but nice to know I could). I also love the blued hands, which really help with legibility. I'm having mine in the 'bronze-gold' with the MOP dial. Gonna order it as soon as I wipe the slobber off my keyboard 🤣
I am thinking of ordering the same version (bronze-gold w/ MOP dial). However, there is only some stock images and not many reviews so I do not know how it will look in real life. Please let me know about your opinion once you get it.
@@EscapeWheel I had just about decided I wasn't going to buy any more Chinese homage watches and then this came out :D I'm curious to see how thick that dial is, I may decide to swap out that fat seconds hand if it doesn't need an extra long stem. Like you I decided on the steel version, though I would have liked a gold version without the fake aging.

I know the movement on yours was good, but how would you overall rate it in terms of longevity. 3. When would the hand wind in the polish case with this style beyond sale?
Hi...a quick one...when testing any stone or watch crystals you have to make contact with your left hand with the metal surrounding the stone or crystal and also making sure to touch with your thumb the metal plate on the side of the electronic tester in order to "close the circuit"...otherwise you will never hear the "bip" that indicates it is indeed sapphire. I usually use it in the 6 level.
maybe this one is a little different. I have a wheel that I can adjust the sensetivity. I let the tester warm up, and when it's ready, I adjust the sensitivity so that 1 or 2 lights show. then I hit the crystal. Sapphire will go up to 6-7-8 ish, mineral won't go up more than 1 light. I can adjust the sensitivity so that sapphire will "bip" audibly. Heck, I'm pretty sure I could adjust it high enough to get mineral to do the same (never tried it)
Why doesn't the brown strap on the MOP dial have the awesome texture that the black dial version has on the black strap? That and the books is slightly too orange for me.... But the texture is so cool the black one.
I was thinking of getting a Lobinni dress watch, but after seeing this - I think this is a better dress watch option. I love Baltany crystals - they are so clear. Everything about them is great actually.

Good to hear that, just to be sure, in general im used to have pretty solid movements like seiko 4r36 or vostok 2416Б and 2414A but never had experience on chinese production ones. Maybe they chosen this one for the subdial hand and thickness of that movement (?). Anyway I’ll try that one, searched for so long the 20s rolex design and finally there is it. Love that design
@@Niko-jl4ex yeah, they used this for that reason, not many hand wound movements around that would hit those dimensions. FYI they sell this with a Miyota 9000 series as well as a small seconds quartz watch if either of those make you feel better about the purchase.

I quite like this one. Seems heavily inspired by the Vario 1918 Trench watch to me. I prefer quartz but I like the version you've got best. Really like it but.... Really don't need another watch... Maybe I'd grab it if I didn't already have the Vario
@@mothas23 Yeah, they are definitely one of my favorite brands as most designs are very unique. Significantly more expensive than most AliExpress stuff, but at least you are paying for a unique design. Though technically the trench watch is an homage, I'll stand by my statement 🤷♂️
@@mothas23Vario s Lume is in no way better than Beltany. I have both watches. And when I compare side to side, beltany beats Vario flat in terms of pricing. You can buy 2 Beltany watches! Beltany's Lume is way better than Vario.!

FABNTASTIC WATCH GREAT REVIEW. My take: Its supposed to be small. I like it - thats how the things were in 20s. One thing I would like to be changed - original oyster has a more interesting dial - "ultra prima" lettering and such. This dial looks a little bit to bland. Also - love lume, but black font and no lume, fits the style better. BUT ITS STILL 9,5/10 overall IMHO.
I've never really understood people who get the same watch in a bunch of different colors (she says, while glancing over to her two Pagani Speedmasters...) but in this case, the choice is so difficult, I want one of each! One with a black dial with the gold hands and gold trim, the one you're holding but with the aged case, and the quartz one with the Roman numerals and the silver brushed dial, if you please. I already went way overboard on the 11.11 and BF sale and I'm currently waiting for my Baltany 1921 to arrive, so this'll have to wait till the next sale, but it's definitely on top of my list. What a beaut.

the black strap is actually much nicer, too. I'm sure they'd swap out the strap for you if you asked.

It's the ST17 which I have always had good experience with, whether it's the automatic or manual version. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one

Size will definitely put off some. I think the style would look a little silly in 39mm though. The original was probably like 34mm
