Real, and I think it’s a very resourceful, creative and smart choice the MTA made on their own behalf too, despite the way management has been operating right now
12:41& 14:42 now the E line has been selected for the R179s for CBTC testing. Hope the MTA Enthusiasts enjoy chasing it. Like they did when the R179s made it onto the F & M lines for the same reason. I look forward to when they send it back to Pitkin Yard.
Damn, fastest I've ever seen you do the process of railfanning and uploading. Usually you would railfan on a day but edit/post the video later. Today you were quick with this one Great catches anyway though. R179 (E) hasn't happened in a while
I’m surprise that the R179 is now on F M and now E line I’m actually surprised of how it started on the J /z line then the A and c now it’s being used on the F M and E trains I’m actually proud of how far the r179 came
That wasn't an actual R179 (E) train it was a rerouted C train since the C was ending at World trade Center when that happened its been since late 2008 since the E has ran something other than a R160
Is the E line from Kew Gardens to Jamaica Center getting CBTC? I only ask because MTA mentions the other portion of the Queens Boulevard line between Kew Gardens & Jamaica 179th Street on the E & F lines is getting CBTC but they left out the Queens Boulevard line between Kew Gardens & Jamaica Center so I’m wondering if they’re installing CBTC between Kew Gardens & Jamaica Center on the E line.
Do you mean the Archer Avenue line? Jamaica Center, Sutphin Blvd-JFK and Jamaica Van Wyck are not part of the Queens Blvd line. The Queens Blvd line runs between Jamaica-179 St and 50 St (lower level). But I still think the Archer Avenue line will get CBTC eventually
I apologize I just went by the title of the video thanks for the correction I only asked cause I kept seeing CBTC advertisement signs displaying CBTC will be coming to the eastern portion of the Queens Boulevard Line on the E & F lines between Kew Gardens & Jamaica 179th street but they left out the portion of the E line between Kew Gardens & Jamaica Center hence why I asked. But thanks again for the corrections I never thought of the E line to be the Archer Avenue line but thanks for correcting me.
I think the R179s look good on the E line! And it was a premiere too!
Literally
Totally!

The Last Time that the E Train was using the R179 was back in December 2019
That wasn't an actual R179 (E) train it was a rerouted C train since the C was ending at World trade Center when that happened its been since late 2008 since the E has ran something other than a R160
The R train should get the R 179 subway cars
