Yours, including this one, are easily the most informative comparison videos on UA-cam! Thank you! As a suggestion for a future video? Where you point out where and why some of these tents leak, it would be very helpful, especially to us novices, to see how you would remedy that issue, e.g., How to tape or apply a spray or applicator to waterproof those weak points. In fact, how to waterproof all of the seams on an entire tent-and then do another leak test. I am in the research phase, as I really want to purchase a good tent to use by late Spring ‘25. So far, you’ve got me-a 66-yr-old single male-looking at a Wawona 6P (18 lb) or Gazelle T4 Plus (56 lb). I love the idea of having a sizeable area outside the main sleeping section where I can remove my shoes or sit in a chair out of the hot sun-hence, the Wawona or Gazelle. Thanks again!

Sorry about that Haja! I'll try to see if I can make my future videos a bit more simple. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions and I'll do my best to help!
Aww thank you so much for thinking of me Anthony! 🥰 I would love to test out the Core performance tent but sadly it's not available in my country on Amazon :(
Lots of great info in here! Thank you for taking the time to make such a well put-together video. I'll definitely be referencing your videos the next time I'm tent shopping!
Hi Liz. The new format is fine. One thing I find helpful are the rating charts. I think they really provide a nice objective picture of all the work you put in measuring the tents. You are pretty clever using a lot of the same video shots in many of your videos - saves time creating new videos, but runs the risk of being boring. The graphics give off a nice youthful flair without being too annoying, but again, careful of graphic overload. The cadence and pace of your narration is pretty good! I have to believe you spend a lot of time with your script. I hope the time and work you put into these is paying off for you. I know for me I have no use at all for a cabin tent, but I still watch! 😄
Hey Tom! Thank you so much for taking the time to write out all the feedback you have for me, I appreciate you! 🥰 I'm glad you liked the charts, and I'll do my best to tone down and not overload on the graphics! HAHA and you're right about the video shots though, my editor currently has all of them, and it makes it easier to use the same shots 😅 I'm out testing and filming new gear now though, so I've got new gear and new shots coming up soon! As for the script, yup I'm trying my best to slowly improve on it, it means a lot to me that you can tell 🥰
As always a great showdown, Liz. Really appreciate the thought you've put in to review, compare and score these tents. The fact that you measured each of these tents for the mesh to solid fabric ratio shows your commitment to provide the best reviews out there. I prefer this format, as keeps the engagement level pretty high. Also, clickbait title suggestion (not that you'll ever need it) "Why Ozark Trail hates this reviewer" 😂
Hi Wer Kar! Thank you so much for another comment and for taking the time out of your busy day to always watch my videos, you're the best! 🥰 HAHAH I thought the mesh to solid fabric ratio might have been a bit overkill, but I'm glad you picked up on that! 😅 Thanks for the feedback on the format too! It seems that the longer format is a bit more popular though, but I personally like this format too cos it's more engaging. I'm racking my brains trying to see if there's a compromise between both 😅 Hahahaha that's an awesome clickbait title 😆
Thank you again for another outstanding review of a few tents I've been considering purchasing this year. Have you reviewed or plan to review any Air or Inflatable tents?
Oooh I'm really glad Jeffrey! Thank you so much for letting me know 🥰 What are the tents that you're considering this year? And currently I haven't reviewed any inflatable tents, and probably not for the near future, but probably for the more distant future a few years from now! 😅
Thank you so much Liz for doing these reviews. I am praying that these companies will see your comprehensive reviews of their tents and offer to sponsor you! My Amazon cart is filled with so many tents now, lol. From the basic pole type to the instant ones. I live in the Antelope Valley in the High Desert of CA and it gets windy, cold, and hot out here with occasional rain. Thanks to your awesome reviews, I am putting the different tents that are available on Amazon and taking notes on my mobile for the ones that I need to buy elsewhere. So that I know what to pack with us on our church fellowship outings according to the weather forecast. Thank you again Liz and may you be blessed and your channel prosper.
Hey Brylan! Thank you so much for the kind words, they truly mean a lot to me! 🥰 Hahaha well so far I've only had a few smaller brands reach out to me for free stuff, I haven't accepted any at the moment, but I think it's cos this is still a small channel! Perhaps in the future. HAHA I'm glad that you managed to find so many interesting tents from my channel though 😆😆😆 Let me know which ones you end up going with! I'd love to hear about them.
Great job on your videos - I really appreciate the effort you put into the scoring and actually measure things out - plus the rain testing if fantastic to know. I haven't looked through you back videos yet since I just found this channel, but I'd love to see some hot and rainy testing. Plenty of snow stuff out there, but I rarely see people testing like this in more tropical environments. Anyways, again, great job on these - I look forward to seeing what else you come up with.
Hey Rod! Thank you so much, I'm really glad that you liked the testing and the scoring 🥰 Ah that's interesting! What would you like to see on hot testing in the tropics? I haven't been able to come up with many topics for tent testing in very hot weather haha
@@CampingGuidance thanks for responding. I've watched more of your videos and I think you actually covered most of it. Mainly I was wondering about coping with heat and humidity and lots of rain. I'm in Florida and it looks like your weather is somewhat similar to what you get - and most camping videos are always about dealing with cold, like how well the tents hold heat. For me, I'm mostly interested in the opposite, how well do they expel heat, while still providing protection from heavy rain and not getting overran with insects. Anyways, I think you do a really great job with the videos and I appreciate the effort you put into measuring everything out and giving numbers, in addition to opinion (which is equally important).
@@rodmunch69 Ah I see! Actually coping with heat is about having more mesh and less fabric, so that the heat dissipates into the surroundings more, instead of staying inside the tent and building up. I covered that in ventilation, if that's what you were looking for? 🥰 Let me know if it isn't! Also, you could set up a tarp over the fan which provides some sort of shade for the tent, so it isn't like put through the beating hot sun. And I've been loving the use of camping fans too, they certainly help with the heat! Thank you so much for all the feedback and the kind words, they mean a lot to me! 🥰
So thorough and detailed. Thank you for making this video. I've been debating between the Wonderland and Wawona. I need space for a queen and twin mattress, so I think I'll go with the Wonderland, even though I really like the vestibule of the Wawona.
OH NICE. Thank you so much for letting me know! At least now i have some extra info I can tell my viewers, cos I have been getting questions about the full rainfly core haha 🥰
you should do a comparison of different down camping blankets (and maybe add the synthetic versions too). There are SO many on amazon that all look exactly the same. But all have little differences.
Thank you so much for the suggestion! I really appreciate it, one day I will do that too when I have more money to travel to places for winter camping. I live in the tropics and it's scorching everyday, I don't ever use camping blankets cos I'll probably die of heatstroke 🤣
Great videos very informative 👍🏼 I got some tent review suggestions, but they are expensive. Hopefully, one day, you can afford and review them. The first one is: Shiftpod 3, Shiftpod mini 3, Overland(ish) The basecamp and solo version. They can go from $699-$1,699
WHOAHHH that's expensive, I don't think I've had any tent so far that I've paid more than 1K for hahaha 😅 But thank you for taking the time to give me suggestions! I'll definitely keep them in mind for the future if I can ever afford them.
Excellent job as always, Liz. I like having all this data to weigh my choices. Sometimes what is important to me is not the same as other campers. I buy 2 to 3 tents per year (new or used) and love trying out different ones, selling or donating the ones I don't like. REI Kingdom tents (no longer made) are still my favorite but I have the new Wonderland X (bought when they had 75% off last year and with REI rewards it cost me $200!) but I'll put the Wonderland 6 on my wishlist. Thanks for all your hard work on this.
Thank you so much as always Deborah! It really means a lot to me that you're always commenting and supporting my videos 🥰 OOOOH how are you finding the Wonderland X? OMG I saw the same 75% sale so I took a few days to quickly cobble together the money to buy it, but when I managed to borrow enough, it was out of stock!! I think it went fast :(
@@CampingGuidance You do such excellent work and I enjoy watching all your videos, even when I don't want the tent you're reviewing, lol. I love the Wonderland X but it is heavy and takes a long time to put up. I will use it in the forest at my house so I can set it up for the 3 months of warm weather and leave it up. I live in a tiny house so it becomes my outdoor office and sleeping quarters when it is hot inside the house. I would never have paid full price and it's a 4 person tent so that even half price is a lot. I've seen a couple of them for sale on eBay for $500 to $700 so I think people bought them expecting to make a profit but they aren't selling well.
@@deborahnaybor2233 Thanks so much Deborah! It really means a lot to me that you watch all my videos 🥰 Yeah it does definitely look like a huge pain to put up, but it's sooo cool looking! I'm hoping to be able to snag a good discount this REI anniversary sale, I hope they have a good one! And yeah setting it up for 3 months is definitely a smart move! I didn't realize that people would flip tents for profits on eBay 😅
I've always used Eureka backpacking tests because I thought they gave me the best value for the money. Sadly, Johnson Outdoors is eliminating the Eureka Brand and end their sale of Eureka products in 2024. I lived in a Eureka Cabin Tent (I forgot the model name) for 6 months while I built a retirement house. The tent served us well with no leaks but after 6 months the sun understandably damaged the tent fabric. Thanks for all your work on these videos!
Hey Denzil! Thanks so much for sharing! And wow living in a tent for 6 months is so cool 🥰 Do you have any idea why Johnson Outdoors is discontinuing the Eureka brand? I heard of it, but I have no idea why, I love my Eureka tent too :(
@@CampingGuidance Johnson Outdoors said they are simply not making enough money in order to continue the Eureka Brand. This new generation of kids aren't camping and are not buying much camping equipment. When they do buy tents, they shop for the cheaply made Chinese brand products. I've owned 4 Eureka tents and they served me well. I will miss the Eureka Brand. Thanks for working so hard to make great videos! I enjoy your videos!
@@denzilbritt2314 Thanks for the update Denzil! I guess I'm not too surprised that kids these days aren't camping as much. I guess for how often they camp, Chinese brand products would work fine once and then get thrown away after haha. I hope you manage to find another brand to get your tents and gear from, instead of Eureka! I appreciate you 🥰
And yet, here we are, 2024, and Eureka is closing their doors... Breaks my heart, and my wallet, cuz I had to buy some quality tents before it's to late! Boy Scout and Eagle Scout tested and approved!
Thank you so much! 🥰 Ah if you can get the Wonderland X on a deal, that would be worth it! I think the waterproofing should be much better on the X cos of the full fly. And the fact that you can roll it up too is great!
Love the comparison. Really informative summary of your tests. You must have spent a lot of time on the graphics. One thing I found confusing is that in the table that shows up at time 10:19 the Gazelle has a max capacity of 8. The Gazelle T4 that's featured in this video is rated a 4 person tent. Is that max capacity meant for Gazelle tents in general, because the T8 and T4 Plus are rated for 8. I would like to suggest that you provide links to your detailed testing of each tent, maybe organise all related videos (overall, setup, rain test, etc.) to one tent in playlists. Well, I know you are aware of it, but let me rant a little (just a little) on you not mentioning the T4 has in effect a 360° power port in the form of the detachable floor. Hopefully you'll mention this in your future videos on the T4, or any Gazelle tent. For all their short comings, I still love the ease of set up and take down of the Gazelle tents, especially that there is no need to disassemble and pieces to sort out and store separately. I plan to share this video with my FB group. Keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to your next video.
Thank you sooo much! 🥰 I'm really glad that you liked the comparison, and yeah the graphics took my editor some time! He started working for me about 2-3 months ago, and we're looking to ramp up content production soon, if possible! And yes! I took the max capacity for each cabin tent in this review, so the Gazelle was an 8, while some others were a 12. I'm sorry you found that confusing! In that case, I'll make sure to make things clearer next time, or not use that test at all. I think the latter might be better to clear things up. I currently have playlist arranged by category of tents, does that help? And yes I'll definitely meant the power port in future videos, and I'm looking to get the T8 in the future too, so that will definitely be mentioned 🥰 Thank you so much as always, your comments really mean a lot to me! 🥰
@@CampingGuidance I still think that if you can group you review videos by tent then people can drill down on the various aspects of a tent that interest them. Not that it is a must, but for your viewers' convenience. BTW, I shared your video on my FB camping group. It turns out you have a number of fans amongst the members. Keep up the good work!

Omg your I just discovered your video looking for my first tent. Appreciate you taking the time and spending the effort to do those videos. Amazing informative video.❤
Hello, Liz. We need a new tent and have been enjoying your thorough video reviews. I was searching your site, didn't find but wondering have you done a review on the Big Agnes bunkhouse 6 or 8? Thanks
Hey Rosemary! Thank you so much for taking the time to watch my videos, I appreciate it 🥰 Ah sadly I have not had the budget to buy the Bunkhouse. But I have heard many good things about it, and to be honest I suspect I'd like that better than the Wonderland. A couple of my viewers also went for that instead, and so far I've not heard anything too bad about it.
Love this video - super comprehensive and gave me lots of specification considerations! One question for you - have you slept in the wonderland with all your stuff overnight in heavy rain? I had issues with water coming in through the floors. Admittedly, this was a *torrential* downpour and, because we were at a campsite, couldn’t pick our location, which did happen to dip the slightest bit where we had to set up the tent, but I guess I had expected that the floor would be entirely waterproof. (Note: this didn’t happen around the taping/edges but, rather, where heavy objects (eg air mattress, cooler, chairs) were placed). Is the best option then just to put waterproofing fluid on the floors? Thanks!!
Ooooh sorry one more question!! Have you tried any tents by DOD camping from Japan? Just popped up on my Instagram targeted ads, and I am curious about the quality but don’t see a whole lot of info out there on them!! Look very stylish but mention using a different type of tent material and not sure how it does in rain, which is my main concern when camping (spaciousness is becoming a bigger issue as I age - now that I’ve done air mattresses not sure my back will be willing to go back to a mattress pad!!).
Hi liz, thanks for these very comprehensive reviews we really appreciate it! I hope you might want to include brands like naturehike as well as we are also assessing the brand and we would like to know what you think of it. Lastly, i do hope we can get to see you in full view too, when you do the reviews. I also would like to suggest what you think about inflatable tents and how they compare with each other, by weather conditions n seasons. Just a thought, thanks for these reviews they are invaluable to our camping investments n experience. More power!
Hey Brian! Thank you so much for the wonderful suggestions, I really appreciate it! I haven't had the chance to test out Naturehike yet though, but I'll try to include them in future reviews cos they've been requested a few times! Currently I think inflatable tents are too expensive, but maybe next time for sure 🥰
Liz your dedication and determination is well shown in your videos! Like always amazing in my opinion i truly like your longer videos and how you go in further detail. Keep up the amazing work youre amazing!
Hi Javi! Thank you so much for your kind words and for the feedback on the longer videos too! I appreciate you! 🥰 And yup, I got loads more videos planned for this year, I'll try to speed up a little bit 😅
Hey again Shep! I think I answered this question in another of your comments, sorry it's taken so long to get back cos I was on a break for the past month or so. I suspect that it would help a bit, but I still don't think the tent will be completely dry though. We'll see in the future!
Just picked up a 10p core instant cabin tent with led light from Costco for $250. I plan on seam sealing and Scotch guarding it. I was really looking at the T4 but my fam of 4 wont fit in that and even when its just me the few times ill tent camp (i have a 30ft rv) I wanted room. Im assuming the the 10p is just a slightly larger 9p but same everywhere else? Great reviews as always, subbed.
I would assume it's the same too! I have another Core 10P tent, and it had the same workmanship as the 9P. Several other features can differ too, like size of windows, size of doors, etc. Thank you so much for subbing! 🥰
AWW that's so sweet Javi, I really appreciate it! 🥰 I was just really worried about looking so different from all the current camping reviewers that are out there now 😅 But you're right, I'll take baby steps to be more confident!
I too think you are right. And, ironically, by wearing a covering (which i underatand your point/reasoning Liz), you actually draw more attention to that part of the visual presentation. I think your videos are great. Good production, good amount of angles, simple concise facts and info. All of the graphics and charts. It's all very very impressive. Well done! 👏 and thank you!
@@sheldonf9267 Hey Sheldon! Oh man yeah you're definitely right about that :( Too bad I had to learn that the hard way haha 😅 I'm really glad that you liked the video and thank you so much for the kind words too 🥰
dysfunctional minuscule dumb ass door on the Gazelle eliminates itself which is a shame because I loved loved loved the interior but literally closed the door when I saw the main door but the wonderland looks super cool and spacious.. your work is top shelf and your accent is addictive and pleasant thanks to that aussie twang.. cheers Liz.
Oh yeah the doors are painfully small for sure. I tripped over them a few times hahahah. Thank you so much for the kind words Ricky! 🥰 Glad you didn't mind the accent too HAHA
Hmm I've heard good things about the Big Agnes Bunk House! I'm currently saving up to buy that. I think you can try that out for all weather and rain. I hope this helps! 🥰
Hey Ben! Thanks for the kind words and for letting me know! 🥰 Ah most of the plants in my backyard are all potted, my grandma has green thumbs and loves to rearrange the garden depending on the occasion, so potted plants help with that. Also she likes her carpet grass clean and sprawling, so we don't plant any plants into the grass.
Hi Liz, I like shorter videos and would prefer a shorter format. I go to your specific tent videos when I want more details. Can you test the MEC Cabin 2.0? Not sure if you can get it in Singapore.
Thank you so much for letting me know! It seems that quite a few folks like the longer format though, but I'll see what I can do to find a middle ground with the longer and shorter formats! 🥰 I don't think many people go to the specific tent videos like you do though, that's why 😅 Thank you for watching even the specific videos, that means a lot to me! Thanks for the suggestion on the MEC! I haven't bought anything from there, but maybe I should try sometime soon 😅
Hi Yusman! So glad to hear from you again. And yes I still have all of my more recent tents with me, am thinking of selling them off to raise more cash to buy more stuff HAHA
I imagine it'll perform almost the exact same way as my current Core tents, but just with better waterproofing! Sorry it's not available in my country though, so I can't buy it to test it at the moment :(
No offence your comparing apples to oranges in your reviews. You can’t compare ozark to Northface. I have the ozark tents and Coleman’s and my ozark tents are great for cheap tents. Coleman’s new door design is not my favorite. Ozark is a cheap version of more expensive tents. Just putting in my views. Comparing a cheap tent to higher end tents isn’t even fair. You get what you pay for
I do agree that you definitely get what you pay for. I typically do recommend Coleman tents as great budget tents, cos those were the tents I grew up using. But I don't see why I can't put all types of tents together through the same tests, and show the results to folks? Then at least they can decide whether to go with the premium pick, or the budget pick.
@@CampingGuidance Still watching, is not my kind of tents but some friends like them so when they ask me for my opinion I send your video and your link ☺️

Hey Faylina! Aww thank you so much for thinking of me Anthony! 🥰 I would love to test out the Core performance tent but sadly it's not available in my country on Amazon :(
Lots of great info in here! Thank you for taking the time to make such a well put-together video. I'll definitely be referencing your videos the next time I'm tent shopping!
thank you so much for wanting to keep me in mind Cortney! That means a lot 🥰
That title is a winner all the time with any tent manufacturer that scores low, lol.
Super helpful, thank you! This went over anything I ever would have wanted to know about buying a cabin tent for our family.
Thank you so much for the kind words David! That truly means a lot to me 🥰
So thorough and detailed. Thank you for making this video. I've been debating between the Wonderland and Wawona. I need space for a queen and twin mattress, so I think I'll go with the Wonderland, even though I really like the vestibule of the Wawona.
Just bought a core10 with a full rain fly just camped all weekend with downpours! This tent is awesome zero water in tent
OH NICE. Thank you so much for letting me know! At least now i have some extra info I can tell my viewers, cos I have been getting questions about the full rainfly core haha 🥰
@@CampingGuidance your welcome! ☺️
You should do a review of bell tents! I am intrigued by their simple setup and spacious and tall interior.
I am scouring the internet for the best XL tent, you helped me immensely! Thank you!
Thank you so much!! 🥰 which have you decided to go with?
you should do a comparison of different down camping blankets (and maybe add the synthetic versions too).
@@CampingGuidance Oh interesting I live in a scorching desert in Arizona but I camp in the mountains where it gets really cold at night
@@dummkompf Oh cool! Sadly it never ever gets cold here in the tropics. The coldest is probably like 70 to 80F hahahaha
Ive never seen a tent conniseur.. very informative video. Thank u
I love your videos, thank you for all the work you do! Have you ever used a Big Agnes bunkhouse tent?
Great videos very informative 👍🏼 I got some tent review suggestions, but they are expensive. Hopefully, one day, you can afford and review them. The first one is: Shiftpod 3, Shiftpod mini 3, Overland(ish) The basecamp and solo version. They can go from $699-$1,699
WHOAHHH that's expensive, I don't think I've had any tent so far that I've paid more than 1K for hahaha 😅 But thank you for taking the time to give me suggestions! I'll definitely keep them in mind for the future if I can ever afford them.
Thank you. I like the faster pace 👍🏼
Thank you for the feedback! I appreciate it 🥰
This is the best quality review! super impressive. Thanks a lot for this honest and super informative review!
Thank you so much! I'm really really glad that you liked the video and all the info 🥰
Like your new format ! Thanks for all your efforts creating this video😉
Thank you so much Ricardo! 🥰 It really means a lot to me that you like this video and the format too! 🥰
I appreciate you 🥰
Coleman Tenyana is a great cabin tent …no slanted wall and no drooping.
Thanks so much for the suggestion! 🥰
And yet, here we are, 2024, and Eureka is closing their doors... Breaks my heart, and my wallet, cuz I had to buy some quality tents before it's to late! Boy Scout and Eagle Scout tested and approved!
Great process and information. Love the results summarized in the grid view.
Wondering if you have opinions on the REI Wonderland X ?
@@chomp54321 Thanks for the feedback, that does make a lot of sense! And thank you so much for sharing my video too 🥰 Oh wow I never would have expected that others in there have watched my video too, that's so nice to know! 😲

Omg your I just discovered your video looking for my first tent. Appreciate you taking the time and spending the effort to do those videos. Amazing informative video.❤
Thank you so much! I'm really glad that you enjoyed the video and all the details that went into it 🥰 I appreciate you!
as long budget and reliability concern, Core takes the cake!!!
It's definitely a great budget tent and I love it for that too!
Hi Liz, I love your videos. Very thorough and informative. You should review Snow Peak tents/gear. Not much information on them on UA-cam.
Hey Sam! Thanks so much for the suggestion! 🥰 Do you personally like the Snow Peak brand? What gear do you recommend from them?
Liz can you review some canvas tents?
Currently I think inflatable tents are too expensive, but maybe next time for sure 🥰
i like the skyward best mainly for that vestibule
It's cool right?! I love it too for the vestibule! Thanks for letting me know! 🥰

Hi Javi! Thank you so much for your kind words and for the feedback on the longer videos too! I appreciate you! 🥰 And yup, I got loads more videos planned for this year, I'll try to speed up a little bit 😅
Hi Liz, great job on all the reviews. Will you be reviewing the sundome full fly version to see if that solves the water leaking?
Hey again Shep! I think I answered this question in another of your comments, sorry it's taken so long to get back cos I was on a break for the past month or so. I suspect that it would help a bit, but I still don't think the tent will be completely dry though. We'll see in the future!
Best tent reviews I've seen, and I've watched a lot! Thank you so much for your insight and quality vids. Subbed!
Thank you so much for the comment and sub Matthew! I'll do my best not to let you down! 🥰
Just curious if you might try the Core tents with the full rainfly?
Thanks so much for the amazing details!
No plans yet cos they're not available in my country, but so far I've heard one of my viewers say zero leaks!
@@CampingGuidance I bought the 6 person and took it on a trip where we had one heavy rain and had no leaks. So far I like the tent a lot!
@@farstrider79 Awesome!! Thanks so much for letting me know too, it sounds wonderful 🥰
Btw liz, youre gorgeous no need to cover your face. We are here for your reviews not to judge your looks. Just a suggestion.

Those slanted walls are the downfall of many tents. You have very practical evaluations of tents.
Nice video. Just curious, why do you keep your plants in pots along the side?
