BMW know thats its impossible for their construction. Their construction also dont need 450 hp, because rwd, if they could, they for 100% would use more power. Audi V8 was very heavy naturally, a lot more than competition and step by step, series adding them more and more. Its just quattro thing. Handling almost unlimited power, better handling with heavy and big engine on front. (with naturall understeer, which making car fast) Btw Its better to have 300 hp 1000 kg car, than 700 hp, 1400 kg car on technicall race tracks. Maybe I'm getting old but you just can't beat the look of cars from before about 2005. I can't tell the difference anymore between many of these cars. They all seem to have the same styling cues. I'll take an e36 over any current BMW.

Why are there never any DTM Calibras at these events? I know that 4 of them should still be intakt today. Zakspeed has 2, the Cliff Calibra was restored in 2016 and last year the Rossberg Calibra for was for sale with tons of spare parts. Shouldn't be that complicated to get at least 1 of them track ready...
Not sure why either. I've only seen the black Calibra V6 a couple of years ago on the Nürburgring during the Opel demo laps. The same can be said about many othet DTM and BTCC cars (Mondeo, Primera, Volvo, ...)
I guess it's highly expensive considering the very high revving engine, the Williams F1 derived gearbox, all-wheel drive, contemporary electronics and active aero. Of course it also depends in which state the run such cars today, I wonder if the just remove the gimmicks to make it easier, but I personally don't like such alterations.
Although it was not the most successful car in the DTM, if Alfa Romeo were to return to racing it would once again bring the essence of competition to the DTM. It's a show business matter.
What's fun in this is the diversity of chassis and engine specs. But to balance the drivers there must be alot of ballast. At least to try and make it fair. Imagine big engines, turbo engines, light chassis, 5 speed gearbox, 6 speed gearbox, manual and sequential. Diferent tire specs. Many performance diferences
Rupp with his Alfa absolutely destroyed the rest of the field. Stadler had a car to challenge him but he's not that fearless to get to the limits I guess.
