NGL, Usopp is the very relatable character for me or for all of us. Full of pride and insecurities. But you know, you need to accept your own mistakes and apologize in order to be the greatest warrior or to be a strong human.
Zoro's term is to not accept Usopp unless the first thing that comes out of him is an apology. Despite of this, he wants Usopp to come back. My take is that Luffy and Zoro can hear Usopp's calls but says that they can't hear him (referring to Chopper calling them liars) because if they do hear him say his nonsense, they (by the terms that Zoro insisted) will no longer accept Usopp because the first words that came out of him isn't an apology. So they pretended not to hear him until he apologized. That's the captain and first mate's compromise. It's just my take. Everyone has their own interpretation of what happened.
Yes, but I think there's still more that you missed. My interpretation is that a crewmate can't go and disrespect their captain, leave whenever they want and then expect to be welcomed back. It's not some club. It's serious stuff to be part of a pirate crew, where life and death can happen anytime-- trust is put on the line. They weren't going to just let him back without a sincere apology, especially to Luffy. Luffy is often seen as the joke of the crew, but he still holds the most important role of leading the straw hats. Essentially, Usopp challenged Luffy's authority when they had that fight. They needed to set/ maintain the tone that what Usopp did was out of line (as a friend and crewmate), and it can't just be swept under a rug of lies and BS.
Years later… even if it’s just seeing a clip of these scenes… I am still moved by it. one piece is really one of the most emotionally satisfying anime I’ve ever seen. Especially the old episodes. It’s a masterpiece.. beautifully written..

Well, we know how difficult it is to apologize from the bottom of our heart... It's very easy to say "sorry" but often the words you say only come from your mouth but not from your heart and Oda-sensei tries to show one of the "situations" where an apology comes from the heart of a character like Ussop who is used to lying.
Please don't skip the naming and very first Coup De Burst! The second one especially was to me a declaration to the world that we (the Strawhats) aren't limited to the seas but the sky too is our domain!
Usopp is a man of dignity. I believe that was the first answer of the list that he had wrote down in his notebook. But if had to choose between something from his hometown vs Luffy, he'll pick something from his hometown no matter what...

But more than respect they were hurt with the fact that he left on his own accord. How could he just leave when they swore they’re nakamas and part of straw hat no matter what and that’s what zoro emphasised on. So he has to apologise and admit to his mistake.
Nah we all know nami hitting luffy is not her disrespecting him, even zoro does the same a few times. Usopp's disrespect luffy by straight up going against his decision and even ask luffy for a serious duel to the point of leaving the crew. That's what zoros talking about
