I’m sure you put your daughter’s life in danger on every video 😂 I saw this place a few years back and thought what an unusual and eerie place! I’d love to explore those woods around there and those trees you speak of 👻
Hi Sam, well done for making this video so quickly, maybe whatever it was you detected in the chimney somehow got transported into your editting software? I spotted what looked to be somebody on the main track at 1:28, on the brow just left of the church as you panned round!! I'm glad you didnt go on your own, but maybe your daughter can run faster than you!! I must have driven by this area many times over the years, sometimes from or to Gatwick, without knowing it was there, maybe you get bluebells there in spring, always a wonderful sight. Great video, all the best!!
Hello David! Thank you! Definitely a strange one, with the camera and the software. A bug in the software has caused the video issue, and I had problems with this version too but managed to dowload it OK eventually.. hopefully it will be resolved for the new one. There were a couple of people who drove there (the red car wasn't mine, you can hear someone's mobile phone going off and a child shouting lol), and a runner asking for directions as we were leaving. It is not easy to find, unless you know where it is. Have a great week!
That is an eerie and odd place in the woods! I remember coming across of such an abandend church in Sweden. But there the people just had decided to built a new and bigger church. But it is weird to see a abandond church rotting in an also abanddond place, becoming again a part of the forest! But in Sweden there was no creepy story about monks who turned into trees.... But in that place I can imagin the trees come to some life and walk around at night - or even in the dim light of the day.... And the fire place in the church/ school.... Thank you for taking us with you to this spooky but also magical, enchanted place!👍
Thank you, and thank you for sharing. I'd have loves to see that church. I absolutely love it when nature reclaims buildings like that. This church is pretty creepy, plenty of jump scares at the minimum sound 😳
A very strange looking ruin, rather creepy all alone among the trees, in the middle of nowhere - even the photo of the bulding in its heyday looks decidedly odd. There is a very weird atmosphere there 💕💕💕
Thank you for a great video of this haunting ruin among the trees. What unusual architecture. Do we know anything more about its history? When and why it was built in this location?
Thank you Malcolm 😊 it was built in 1880 for the small hamlet of Bedham, as a school and church. I guess that it was too costly to keep it running after the war. Turned into chapel for 20 years or so, it was abandoned in 1959. That's pretty much it I think 🤔
Hi Geoff, thank you. I didn't fix it, I managed to work around it 😂 Hopefully they can sort out the bug in the software soon. Glad you liked the eerie and quirky church in the woods 😁
Thanks for that delightful film of the old church/school. Looks as if it had a piece of scaffold pole at the end by the tower to stop it falling. It was an attractive place, though. Your daughter hasn't got the courage you have. Maybe she thinks she is too young to get hurt by falling masonary. Doesn't matter about her lovely mum. Is this the video you lost during the software update?
@lionelmarytravels6003 Hi Lionel 👋🏻 thank you! Yes, they put the iron beams on both sides to support the front of the church. They're doing their job so far. Yea this is the video lost. I've found what caused it, a bug in the program. I thought this would have shared the same end, but eventually I managed to have a full download. 🤦🏻♀️
I was reading that a Sussex newspaper reporter was sent to do a story relating to Elgar but gave up looking after 3 hours 😂😂😂 Lovely film Sam, thanks for sharing xxx
Hello Sam! 👋This church is in a town named after two of my favourite things. 🛌🐹Bed and Ham! 🤣 Fancy you writing OKAY on that sign and then marching right on in 😂not like you at all. It certainly looked like a very strange place, almost like a ghost ship from up on high! At least it seemed your daughter managed to get a signal on her phone! 🤣Thanks for another cool video! xxx
Hello Al 👋🏻😂 I didn't write that but I found it funny. And of course I had to march right it. There's another one inside "DANGER!" and I was like "uh huh" 🤣 Thanks so much xxx
What a spot Sam 👍 I kept studying that fireplace before your camera started acting up. There's a black area at the top i. the centre that stayed completely black wherever the image was taken from...the blackest thi g in the whole video 🤷. I'd love to look around there 😊😁. Some lovely images Sam. Well done 👌

Thank you for the great footage. What a wonderful place with a pinch of spooky thrown in. Thanks for showing what it looked like in the past.
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you Jay!
What a lovely building.
I think so too 😊

@SamWalksALot Yes, it was vey silent around the church/ school..... And that I think is not really normal in the woods!
@thefoggymountainwitch I could hear the birds chirping, which was a good sign for me
I can only imagine when it was complete I bet it was beautiful thanks For sharing
I wish there were pics of how it looked inside back then.
Thank you
Loved the video always interesting and well told
Much appreciated, thank you Paul 😊
😊 awesome exploration Sam thanks for the video and be careful out there
Always! Thank you Reuben, glad you enjoyed it
@SamWalksALot 😊 your welcome sam

Great video thank you ❤️🌹
Thank you Tim, glad you enjoyed it
Interesting. I didn't even know it was there. One point; the expression is, 'Thumbs up'. Plural, always. Thanks for upload.
Thank you! And the "thumb up" singular is an inside joke 😅
@@SamWalksALot Ok then. I'll say no more 🙂

Yeah it's pretty odd. There are a couple of houses scattered here and there. I do wonder why there?
hello again Sam , that is such a cool beautiful looking church , would be cool to investigate there, well done and thank you 😊
Hello Davie! It would be, I might be back one day and do that 😊 thank you so much!
@@SamWalksALot oh cool
Awesome! Thanks for this!! Love the spooky bit at the end. Wish I could go check the place out myself
Thank you 👻
I’d love to be there in the middle of the night with my Patterdale terrier and nature. Excellent content.
Thank you 😊
Never forget to bring brown trousers!!!
Lol...
I am still trembling after watching this
It's really something, isn't it
Very atmospheric. Thank you.
Thank you too!
We English love naughty nuns and monks stories. As you said, wouldn't be there after dark Creepy as hell !!
Hahaha yes, that and headless horsemen, I'm surprised that there wasn't one hanging around there 😂
Looks incredible! Thanks for showing us around 😃

@@SamWalksALot Yes, the church/chapel does have a 19C look about it. Thank's.
Reminds me of this church I so I’n Devon once was creepy as hell and empty and the guy who inspired sir Hugo from sherlock Holmes was buried there
Ooooh sounds interesting. I'll look it up 😁
Yea was creepy as hell has an empty graveyard and everything just totally abandoned
@timelordvictorious Oh now I'd definitely love to visit that 😅
Fantastic mysterious ruin and investigation-Totally enjoyed this Sam and have posted on my FB History group ❤❤⭐⭐👍👍
Thank you so much James! I appreciate it my friend 👍🏻😊👍🏻

A superb spooky video again💯👻Thanx a lot for a fantastic vlog👍🏻💯Very good research💯😇
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you so much Lennart 😊👻😊
In the 1970s, that still had furniture and desks in it. The Mitford name has lots of historic links.
All gone now, what a pity

Interesting place and design Sam.
Never seen a church with a fireplace in before...😮
Right? The fireplace was there for the school, I'm sure. 😁

Could the church have been the private chapel of a wealthy person?
No, it was public, on public land...the population wasn't much, Bedham is a very small hamlet
Shame that scumbags still feel the need to graffiti it
It is. They can't be removed easily either, it would damage it even more.....
Lovely Brilliant 😂 After My Last injury 😂I Can’ Very much! Relate! To The Monks? 😂 Time 🕰️ Is Always! Interesting! 🤔💭🤕💯Sam ! 😂😘❤️
Thank you Dan! I go to these places so you don't have to 😂👍🏻👋🏻☀️
WHY IS THE CHURCH ABANDONED
There was no need for it anymore, lack of priests and fundings too, I'm guessing
Hate the graffiti no respect it is still a holy site .
So true 😔
please please take a short course in camera work. there must be a free one online. coursera or something.
