FAQs/Why would they do that?! Answers
We are so glad you are here! Welcome to our channel!
    1. We are in Oklahoma near the Arkansas border.
    2. We do this on a volunteer basis.
    3. Kim aka Mom is retired. Jennifer owns her own business as a massage therapist.
    4. We film multiple locations in one day since we can’t go out all the time given Jen’s full time job. You may not see all the locations we filmed that day in one video.
    5. You may see other people in our videos at times including Granny aka Sue (mom’s mom), Jeff (Kim’s husband and Jennifer’s dad), or Jessica (Jennifer’s little sister) and Lucy (our beautiful, amazing, wonderful dog).
    6. Many wonder why we put stuff down culverts. A few reasons: it provides help for wildlife, we like to and it would have gone downstream anyway. If it blocks another culvert then we will take care of that too but most of the locations we visit are in incredibly rural areas where there won’t be another culvert for miles.
    7. We care about wildlife and never want to cause harm to them. The only reason we will clear a beaver damn is if it is threatening land or roads that can not be accessed any other way. It may not be the road directly within sight but a farm road close by.
    8. We appreciate advice in the comments. We understand that we will receive constructive criticism in the comments. What we won’t allow is the calling of names, derogatory terms, or just plain calling us stupid or idiots. We are all adults here and the internet is already a largely negative place as it is, let’s not add to it. We are people doing our best to help our neighborhood and planet by picking up trash and clearing culverts. Why do we deserve hate for that?
    9. You may not agree with or like the way we did something but that doesn’t mean we did it wrong. There is a right/wrong way to dismantle a bomb. Clearing culverts is up for interpretation to the one doing the work.
    10. We hope that you enjoy our videos and will keep coming back for more! Any other questions you have feel free to ask in the comments.
we find and clear the majority of this beaver dam that was flooding the road. we left some of the water because we didn't want to completely make the beavers lose their home. just enough water to keep the road from flooding. the tracks are probably beaver we realized later.

Hello All! Mom here. I wanted to address some of the comments I have seen on this video and a few others. They have made remarks about my daughter, Jennifer, saying that she doesn’t ever help me or makes me do the bulk of the work. Firstly, I absolutely, respectfully disagree with any comment that says anything like that. Second, I want you all to know that I am strong and very capable of doing this work. If I don’t want to do it or don’t think I can then I don’t and if she tried to hinder me she would not win. 😂 Third, my daughter is a deep tissue massage therapist who knows how injuries can happen and always keeps my well-being in mind when we go out and informs me of ways to keep from getting injured. Lastly, my daughter owns her own business as a massage therapist (which is a very physical job) and usually works a 45-50 hour week. Most of the time working an 8-10 hour day. Some of the videos you watch she has already worked a long day and still comes out with me. There are times where she is exhausted but still wants to help. She has already given of her time, effort and generosity of her heart to help others with their aches and pains all day but she still wants to give more back to others. She does all of the filming and setup of the cameras. She does all of the editing and uploading to UA-cam. And now she is working hard to make sure the subtitles are working properly for those that are deaf or use another language. We use her truck and she has to clean the inside and out every time we get home. She is incredibly talented and hardworking and helps both myself, her dad and granny with numerous projects and keeps our bodies going with massage. Please, please give her the respect she has earned and deserves by not criticizing her work ethic. It hurts my heart and her feelings to think that y’all believe she is lazy or taking advantage of me. I love her and hope that you all can see her amazing qualities too. Thank you respectfully,
    Mom ❤

You shouldn’t judge someone over just watching it on a video unless you know the person another situation never judge. I’m using 2023 as a year of kindness. If you cannot spread kindness do not spread hate. It’s the little things that mean a lot to people when you say please and thank you or you complement them on their job instead of bringing everyone down. Try a little kindness next time you think about getting mad because people aren’t cateringTo you or things are not going fast enough for you.

When you get all the sticks etc off the top and your just pulling mud, try stamping and twising on the mud with your boots and you'll find it breaks down the mud so you don't have to keep pulling so much. I watch Post 10 and Terrell Spivey do it, it really helps. Maybe give it a try. Terrell calls it the dam dance lol.

Hi Mom and Jen, I love your videos and love how you gave us your stories. You said you were open to advice. I feel like I can give just a little tiny piece because we're my fiancé has his business. we have several beaver 🦫 dams, and I have a potato rake and use it to dismantle dams that are big like this. It takes a long time to get to the bottom of the dams, but you have to do it, or they will continue right where you left off and reinforce it better. If you were to make a big enough and deep enough area, it would take them longer to rebuild unless like I advised to completely dismantle it. And it's great you have each other and not doing it alone..and if you don't know the area you don't want to let all the debris to go down stream because it can cause a blockage and make things worse. That happened to me lol and another business way down the road was talking with us one day and mentioned that all of a sudden that when we would get a lot of rain, he would get flooded. My fiancé and I looked at each other then went for a ealk and saw it was from me. So, just some little advice. But you are doing an amazing job. Keep up the great work and teamwork. Can't wait to see what you ladies have in store for us!!! 👏 ❤️😊😊

    • @culvertsandmore
      @culvertsandmore  Рік тому +2

Thank you for the advice! Thankfully, we know that this is the last culvert before the River. This one road we do has tons of beaver dams and thankfully it’s the road closest to the river. We were both cautious about not draining the entire thing because we didn’t want to completely destroy their habitat just drain enough for the road to not flood with the next rain. Good job on the beaver dam removal to you! 🦫

MaMa you are a workhorse!! Jennifer, I have to hand it to you going in so deep with your waders!! Great work to the both of you! Here in Southern Califorina, I think the only water we get is from a hose! lol I would love to be someplace to do what you do! Right up my alley!!!

Having done this type of stuff in the 1970s in northern Ontario, it was fun. Watching these types of clips, I am concerned for their safety.
