These products were obviously built to last a lifetime. Now they just want you to get a bunch of plastic crap that breaks down fast so you can just buy more of it.
@@igray5311 How would the manufacturer of these objects make money in the decades in between if these perfectly functional and robust home appliances had not needed constant replacement.
@@choryferguson2196 well with them built in you would need a new one for each home or have to repair a hole to be able to sell a house and take it with you
That "pullout" burner shelf thing is the stove I grew up with!. I have NEVER seen a photo or video of that stove before, and if I tried to describe it to someone, I'd get this blank look like they thought I was nuts. Although there was an oven above, and the pullout had to be all the way out before you could turn any of the burners on. (This was mid-sixties) we used that stove until we moved out in late 70s. Loved that stove. Lol
@@pdproductions5129It’s the stove Samantha has on Bewitched-her kitchen is amazing! It’s featured in a lot of early episodes if you search UA-cam. Season 1 Episode 3 is when her kitchen got a redesign, and she has that exact stove.
@@dovie2blue, it must have been very early in the 1970s. Like when the show Bewitched first began. I didn’t grow up poor and I never saw a toaster like that either.😂
So awesome! I love it! I have an old 1964 sewing machine and it’s my prized possession. Things back then were built so much better. And everything you collect is saving it from the landfill. Thank your enabler for helping us all to see what these things used to look like!
Love the vintage toaster but I’m in love with what you wearing. That is just adorable and I wouldn’t mind wearing that also. Keep looking beautiful Queen
This has probably already been said but the fact that a Black woman is owning the 50s era so eloquently and making it her own is so powerful!!!! Like you’re going back and single handedly restoring justice to all the ancestors back then who didn’t get the same Privilege. Can you tell us when the love for the 50a started? Did your environment/neighborhood growing up encourage or discourage this passion? Do you ever see the important role you play in doing what you love fearlessly?
I swear...we were going in the right direction & it's like the future stalled & went haywire in the 70s. Thank you for sharing all you do. It's inspiring & beautiful ❤
Genuinely toasters take up so much space and they don’t do very much, so having it as a built in is genius. Even though it doesn’t do many things, I always wish I had one when I don’t. lol
o my gosh i just love this kitchen.....I am such a fan of vintage, so so pretty. The colors are spot on 70s. I have dreamed of a yellow kitchen with orange and the vintage kitchen appliances. Your style of clothing and hair style is so pretty. So cool
Such a fascinating kitchen set up you have! It's interesting to think so many years ago they used to build stuff like this but stopped. Honestly it's really cool seeing that they still make stuff like this.
You have got the coolest items in your kitchen! It's such a thrill to see any new appliances that you get to add in or even how you use your existing ones. I hope you have an amazing Sunday and an even more fabulous week!
That toaster is a Modern Maid model, but it was manufactured after at least 1972, when Modern Maid merged with McGraw-Edison and released Modern Maid appliances as Edison’s, and before 1980, when MG-E sold off their food service equipment brands. The product was sold under the Modern Maid label until at least 1990, the latest catalogue date I can find listing the product.
I really love seeing these videos because some of your appliances are the ones my My great aunt still has in her kitchen and they still work perfectly well, though she doesn’t use them as much as she did when she was younger so I really never got the chance to see her using them so It’s nice to see how the appliances would’ve been used and how they work❤️❤️❤️
Enjoy looking back to yesterday. It appears there was alot of thought put into everything. Today everything looks the same but I believe that is changing. You're so beautifully "cool" as they said in those days. Thank you.❤
Everything I watch your videos, girl I'm so jello of your kitchen I'm green. Lol love it love that you found this super cute vintage toaster. Have a blessed day❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ .
I love vintage kitchen designs! I got into them from watching UA-cam videos, sadly i hardly see any appliances from consignment shops, thrift stores, or even the flea markets, but it is cool when i do. 😊
Why did they stop doing this?? I love all this space saving design. Thumbs up to your enabler 😂
Exactly
Me, too. These are such practical designs. Her oven is beautiful and I love the way the doors open.
You mean friend! 😂
Because a disposable toaster on the counter is much cheaper.
I like the way you have dressed to match your kitchen!😁

I love that your husband supports your love of vintage
I loved the "enabler.. I mean, friend" bit 😂
And that's an AWESOME toaster. I wish I could have one.
I love your vintage appliance collection. Wonderful addition!!!
We need to go back to old appliances, old kitchens, old style, and old EVERYTHING. I love your kitchen❤
No there's plenty of old things that should stay in the past
Not old politics thank you very much.
I lived through the 70’s (and the 60’s!), and I’ve never seen a toaster like this! My guess is from the 60’s. How unique, and how you.

I love that she matches the kitchen!!!
Looooove the pull out stove top. I always wanted a vintage fridge and stove. Like the 1950’s icebox. ❤

Omg. The Bewitched range. I never it saw it anywhere but on that show and there it is, in your kitchen. That is awesome!!!

It was the,80s that was the downturn.
A trickling down economy meant those at the top had to find away to keep consumerism revving.
Dang. I love that entire set.
What a fun toaster. Also, fabulous little dress
Those slide away kitchen accessories are too cool!!
