It’s a miracle that Jim has the second best sales record, bested only by Dwight because Jim has spent many hours planning pranks on Dwight.The spontaneous ones are great, though.
Don't forget how much Jim slacks off in general. If he put forth the same amount of effort as Dwight in making sales, he would most likely exceed Dwight's sales figure quite easily.
@@MikeDCWeld Wasn't it mentioned at least a couple of times that Jim was Dwight's immediate superior? Dwight even concurred with that. I think Jim has a better work ethic than we're led to believe, it's just that the camera crew highlights the pranks and slacking off for comedic effect. I think it's similar to how Jake Peralta is a man-child who doesn't take things very seriously while simultaneously having the best record in the precinct.
@@connorgonzalez4023 pretty sure Jim's whole thing is he's a highly motivated, smart go getter, but only when he's doing something he loves. Like the office Olympics, or when he starts working for that sports company at the end. But this job is soulless, so he does enough to get by, but never pushes himself.

I somewhat agree with Dwight regarding germs. I once went on a 1-month camping trip deep in the woods and the camp organizers sent up our tents in flood zones and we got hit with 2ish weeks of rain. Before this, the group I was with asked me how to stay healthy when daily showers and other standard hygiene methods weren't available. I told them to stop taking showers weeks before the trip and to not wash their hands after pooping. Well, 2 weeks into the trip everyone in my tent had developed a severe cold and even pneumonia. They asked why I wasn't sick and I replied "didn't yall not wash your hands?" Painful and wheezing laughing ensued.

I recall reading somewhere that the reactions of everyone for that were genuine because in the script it was supposed to slowly deflate but it just straight up popped instead.

He is considered a great president and he used a wheelchair for much of his presidency due to a paralytic illness. So all of his heroic acts were done sitting down.

Apparently nobody on the set thought the reaction will be so sudden.
In other takes, the ball slowly deflated and Dwight would slowly lower behind his desk while looking at the camera with distaste... In this take, the ball popped instantly and that is why Jim's reaction was what it is.

Yeah, that was a 'blooper'. The ball was supposed to leak out, not pop, then Dwight would slowly sink out of sight. I think they ran out of balls so left this one in?

The more I watch of The Office, the more I appreciate it... particularly as evidence for the superiority of working remotely.
I gotta say, remote work is my dream. My dog has severe separation anxiety (he’ll throw up if I leave him alone for more than two hours due to his previous owner, my dad, abusing him) so working from home is ideal. Plus I’ve had people stalking me driving my way home when I get off work. So, for my own protection as well as my baby, I work from home. Living my job is just a bonus.
The exercise ball one seems like a genuine laugh out of Krasinksi. I don’t think that was scripted.

Yeah, Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey told the story on their podcast. They did this many times, the ball always deflated slowly, but this one time it just poped and John Krasinsky had to hide from the camera because he started laughing.
I've heard this said over and over, but never hear him laughing when I watch that scene.

Fun Fact: When Jim stabbed Dwight's exercise ball with the scissors, he didn't expect it to deflate that quickly, since in other takes it was slower. So when he stabs it, you can see Jim physically recoiling and covering his mouth to cover his laughter.

The goal is just to get the pressure off your feet/back and I’d assume he’s grab a Bicycle seat and attach it to the top of the crutch that would be too hard
it probably was a modified crutch, it essentially is what the street performers use when they "float" but more rudiementary
