    “If the dots not in the middle of the window, it doesn’t matter, take the shot.” That’s all I needed to hear thank you. Got my Sub!

    Excellent! Finally an explanation that makes sense to me as a traditional scope and iron sights shooter. I kept worrying that because the dot appears in different areas of the “window” that the bullet impact would move. Not the case! Shot goes where dot goes. Much appreciated, sir.

    I've watched 7 or 8 videos and none made sense. I watched this and the light went on. Thank you for a very clear explanation and video showing it.

    I'm new to red dots and I played with it with the bore sight laser in the barrel and noticed all the different spots the dot would be on the glass but still was on with the laser. It's a little weird and takes getting ues to for sure

    Thank you for making my shooting easier. Lots of people say you have to cowihtness your iron sights to red dots what a bull.
    Thanks again

    Thanks a lot I was searching for days but nobody explained that if dot is on target that's it... Obviously zero it is required. Before your video I thought that I have to adjust dot + target+ front sight in line like we do on mechanical sight .

    Thanks for taking the time to explain, I have a cheap but nicely made red dot sight and will try this experiment as it's exactly the information I found difficult to find.

    What about first alignment. We are off on a 507C. Shots seem to be off by 4" all the time. We had a smith do the alignment but now he says it may be off? Not sure if needs returned.

    Thank you for this explanation and demonstration. It helped me a lot as I’m researching red dots for my first purchase. Any recommendations?

    My trijicon had major parallax shift. It doesn’t stay in place at all.I’m hoping I can return it since I paid 600 for it

    I attempted sighting in one on my Q5 match and thought it was screwed up because i couldnt put it on my front sight.... now i know what i'm doing when i get home. haha

    Very cool demo! I bought a Sig P320 w/ Red Dot, and have been slower, cause I try to put the dot in the center. Guess I should have done a little more research before going to the range. This will make it much more fun to use! THANKS

    How far was the target? I find that the parallax on my holosun is noticeable out to around 3 yards, but gets way better after that. Past 10 yards, it's pretty much nonexistent. Is that normal?

    There are only two pistols of i know of that you can do this with, the trijicon rmr and the sig romeo original. Most micro red dots have terrible paralax issues and your dot will wander off target depending on where its at in the window. Burris, vortex, swampfox all have terrible paralax issues.

  • @patriotwarrior_556

    That is not a good description of Paralax....Paralax is when you change your cheek hold or how you are angling or holding the gun and even though your red dots on target your zero is now off.....to test...go back 50 yards hold your sight still and move your eyes and head back and forth...if the red dot moves even slightly off target..THATS PARALAX and can be quite frustrating to someone trying to zero...they go from standing to prone now all of the sudden there zero is 2moa off....WE NEED AN EXPLANATION OF HOW TO COMPENSATE FOR THAT ON A RED DOT...

      Ryan Rish !!TRUMP2020!! Parallax is the impact of eye position to scope alignment. His statement is that this is much less critical with the dot then traditional irons or glass. and as long as you see the dot it will be relatively close to point of aim. Some dots do have significantly more margin of error on the edges of the working range then in the middle but generally less then 2 moa. If I need better than that I can get dot into the middle of the housing body.

    So do all red dots function this way? Do more expensive ones do a better job at it? Does the manufacture have to specify that the sight is parallax free?

    What was the distance from dot to target ?

  • @mario_uzumaki

    so basicly red dot is actually a laser beam visible from an aiming glass?

    • @richardmiklos
      @richardmiklos 3 роки тому +1

      Yeah I thought the same. But this is only true if the red dot is parallax free.

    It's "Parallax Error" people. Do a little research before just repeating what you have heard.
    Iron sights can be the worst, if you don't line up front & rear.

    Why are there Reddot sights advertised with parallax free? Wouldnt that be very dumb?? I dont understand why you would want a parallax free sight?

  • @helsfury
    @helsfury 4 роки тому +2

    This is the most misleading video on youtube. It has already been debunked that red dot reflex sights have no parallax error. THEY DO and they ARE a pain in the ass. Even the manufacturers mislead the public , claiming that they are parallax free. Try doing what you did at the beginning of this video, only this time move the target to 25 yards. You will be all over the place with your shots. Not only do red dot sights HAVE PARALLAX ERROR but that parallax error is bad. There is a lot of it. You won't see it at 5 yards. But you will see it at 25 or 30 yards. The shot does NOT go where the dot is. Yes I know this is the opposite of what people are used to hearing about parallax as they contend that it is less , the further out you go. So think about this. Youa re shooting a sight with 1x magnification...........which is essentially 0 power..........and basically the same as what your eyes see. At 5 feet the parallax can be anywhere and you can still hit the target. But the very instant you go out to extended ranges, the 1/16 inch of parallax error multiplies itself in orders of magnitude. In other words the red dot doesn't have to be very far off the target, for the bullet to strike way out on the target. The slight error at close range shows up dramatically at 25-30 yards. The target at that range looks so small and just 1/8 inch off equates to a group size of over and inch instead of 1/2 inch. The vertical error on a reflex red dot is even worse. So NO they are NOT parallax free. Not even close.

      IF you know that , then why did you bother to come to the video? Why waste your time. I'm not saying you are wrong, just wondering what the thought process is. Do you spend your days looking for videos to debunk? Since you know so much maybe you should make your own video or at least link to another source that backs up your claim.
