Thank God a respectful production company got their hands on this story and not Hollywood. You can just imagine "The Following is Based on a True Story, Staring Chuck Norris & Arnold Schwarzenegger"
*PS. The rough sea footage was filmed by me :)*

Man! What an intense ride. Such an amazing documentary. What makes it really great is all of the actual footage. Saturation divers are always recording audio and video because communication is imperative, this leads to a lot of point of view perspectives, which is what creates the intensity. Yes, there are some reenactments, but the actual footage is breathtaking. Can't recommend this enough.

The most amazing thing about it is that most of the filmed material is from the POV of people involved. That is because in their line of work, communication and relevance of where about, is very prevalent, and important to keep the divers safe. So everything is monitored, thus, recorded

If this guy made it or not, my guess as to how anyone could potentially survive in this situation without any long term brain damage with no oxygen for 30 minutes would be the extreme cold. I've heard of people surviving after falling through ice for long periods of time after drowning. Its like going into hibernation where there is one breath & one heart beat per minute.

What an amaxing story of survival i never knew how much team work was involved in under the sea jobs. Chris is a very likeable guy with so many hopes and dreams a beautiful fiance. Such sadness he must have felt in the moment before losing consciousness ~if i spelled that right when it comes to life and death situations chris had some very good hearted men that saved his life the guy who gave him cpr what a hero and the guy who went as fast as he could to carry chris to safety. When you face a crisis like this you seperate the men from the boys and i must say that dave yuasa i didnt like his cold hearted attitude he said a few things like when the incident happend is all i could think about was not this chris guy but getting my own self to safety and when he found out chris was alive he said i must say i was mad that he survived because he got himself into the mess. No dude the weather got his lifeline wedged and it broke leaving chris without oxygen. Anyway very good documentary love survival shows.

That foreign guy who was working the computers for the ship should have been sent to jail.
What they never told you in this movie was, he pressed a button that put the system into a shutdown mode. That guy had very little experience on a vessel, and should not have been in charge of the workings of the computer. I hope he never works in this line of work again.
Also, the guy that went down with Chris is a coward. He was close to Chris when the chord snapped, and could have easily pulled him back to the divers Bell. Instead he left him there like the gutless wimp that he is.
I hope he quit driving after this, and is guilty for being a coward!!!

My uncle was a deep sea diver, did work on various rigs and the humber bridge just outside of Hull. a horrendously hard job he said, because the river itself changed direction of the swell, diving period is one of the toughest, jobs on the planet.
Dave Yuasa's comments kinda show what type of person you have to be at times, utterly without emotion, just get on, do the job, stop thinking this is a person/dead human being, just a bit of kit to drag back in the best/quickest way possible.

Sorry but I wouldn't dive with someone like Dave Yuasa....I get the "not being too emotional" part, but this guy is borderline sociopath and he has no problem admitting it proudly. Who on earth would want to dive in such dangerous conditions whilst having a reptile with zero empathy or humanity watching your back? You need to panic a bit, you need to care for your fellow human being as this will help you push a bit further to help them. Imagine soldiers thinking this way when one of their own is shot in the middle of the battlefield - "oh yes, comes with the job, he is just a slab of meat to me bleeding to death, I'll just leave him there and go finish my dinner". The man decided to die on his own down there and the person who was with him is proudly saying in front of a camera that he basically couldn't care any less. No fucking way I would stay in a SAT chamber with that freak for 28 days.

I agree with you. It’s one thing to be calculated, it’s another thing to place zero care on the life next to you. However, I believe he was trying to push that narrative, as you can see the joy and emotion in his face in the raw pod footage when he realises he’s alive.
