- r/c model of the hms royal william....maybe six years to build...aprox 8' long and 6' high....80lbs lead to bring it to the waterline...stern galleries light up ...yards an rudder are controlled.....no propeller:)
An absolutely stunning scratch-build model of a fabulous ship of the line!
I am viewing this model in the water for the first time. I'm so glad to see it finished and looking so great as well as under way. A fantastic job Mr. Yankovitch but I still think the model belongs in a museum. Pete.
ha....i offered it free to the museum in vancouver, and they didn't want it.....so i sold it at auction..

Yes thats great as so many of these types of models have an engine, go too fast, and have an huge bow wave on them! you need to keep the speed realistic to make it look good on the water..this one is superb

Where can i learn to make something like this???
You start with a simple kit like maybe the albatross by constructo or something similar and work your way up. To get to the point of carving detailed decorations on your own scratchbuild RC museum pieces will take a while. Maybe 10 models in as many years. But with 1-3 years experience you can make a nice kit RC like the Soleil Royal or Sovereign of the seas.
