- R+R=NOW (Robert Glasper, Terrace Martin, Taylor McFerrin, Derrick Hodge, Christian Scott, Justin Tyson) - Java Jazz 2019
ream team band R+R=NOW-featuring Robert Glasper on keyboards, Terrace Martin on synthesizer and vocoder, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah on trumpet, Derrick Hodge on bass, Taylor McFerrin on synth and beatbox, and Justin Tyson on drums-will release their debut album Collagically Speaking (Blue Note) on June 15. The album is available for pre-order today on vinyl, CD or download, along with the new single “Colors In The Dark” which can be streamed or downloaded now. The band’s DNA is evident in the song’s woozy soul with Martin's robo-coo floating like a hallucination over a lush scene rooted by Hodge’s warm bass and featuring a breezy Glasper piano solo that crests in a sudden burst from Tyson.
When they kick into "Butterfly" everything goes awesome....
If you don’t believe that God still loves his people, look no further than this group. What a gift to be able to enjoy!!
When Derrick Hodge goes from 'Change of tone' to 'Respond' - Perfect.
This 🎧🎼🎹🥁🎷🎺🎸🎻can heel the WORLD❤️
Amazing entrance at 7:03
Christian Scott,...Liquid Dope...Very nice.
No One:
Terrance Martin on Synth: "Can you turn the druuuums up, please"
LMAO nice way to let the sound engineer know that the sound aint right.
I am proud to be there, listening great gig from 2nd row. Derric was just amazing his backing bass was more than awsome.
Same
This makes me feel so proud.
Beautiful thanks
Just absolutely love this
Magic to my ears.
THANK YOU FOR POSTING
A LOVE LIGHT AND SOUND TO ALL
you are welcome
thx for sharing...
Congratulations for mixed this. The mixing is orgasmatic.
absolutely great band, the Java audience is crazy !
Love it
I'm followin' Derek Hodge around at the mo'....So solid with that marauding compressed electric bass-tone and west-coast gospel meets Jeff Berlin phrasing I can't get enuf of, generating canny slash chord harmonies in just the rite places and owning the sluggin' feel without doing anything silly..... I love it. Quite a sick version of this Herbie line.. peace and love
Well put!
Will Schneider, a jazz Horn player in Ohio told me about this group, wow!
Live & direct from Jakarta, all hands on deck. Starting out with an updated / new boot, Herbie Hancock's Butterfly. Yeah, they sound like Miles, & so9 much more. Kudos from Panorama City, California. San Fernando Valley, NW of Downtown Los Angeles.
thank you
unbelievable
Where is this and why don't I ever know about these Great things until years after 😂😂😂
Wooo

Terrence doing weird stuff with his synth at the start with the cracking sounds made me think the video's sound would be crap 😅 But not at all. Thanks for uploading !
xZodax EQ mix is not that great but bearable
@@bboytony209 Unfortunately it's pretty much that or nothing
7:00 trumpet solo
6:10
Wha whattttt
What kind of trumpet is that!? Sounds amazing.
Christian called it the Christian Scott signature trumpet hahaha but ion know what type it actually is😛

Miles is smiling

14:22 sorry it was my shout
Justin Tyson is a beast but can you imagine Marcus Gilmore on drums?
Wouldnt work as well. This music needs that steady, clear groove. Marcus plays around with time which is dope but not for this music. Justin grooves like a mofo and serves the music perfectly.
The drummer is perfect with this group.
imagine Chris Daddy Dave though...
they're both ridiculous players. one's not better than the other. it'd be such a different group with marcus playing.
What song do they start playing at 7:00?
Butterfly -Herbie Hancock
@@yuyosdeinvierno thank you mate!!
Pure Miles. Frases, effects and terrible clothes.
He usually looks cool. Give the man and his mumu a pass!
Phrases...
Everybody knows they all great, but, honestly nothing new musically.
Hope they return to concentrate their own project soon...
P5 M you're cooked mate, this band heals
I mean they do sound very much like RGX at times. The addition of the incomparable Christian Scott does add some new flair however.
totally agree. Great of course, but he just goes on his path with Ancestral Recall. Crazy good album ! let's say he makes some hipster "music tour" ;)
@@babar69110 definitely don't do a "hipster" tour. This is Black Music that is appreciated by the masses, and there's nothing wrong with stating that or appreciating it for what it is. This shit is dope!
@Prep's Casket come on guys, I m following Scott for a while, saw him live and is still my preferred trumpet player. Seeing his evolution, and listening to his fantastic last album, I m just allowed to say what I feel about this perf....
