  • In this episode Travis Justice and Dr. Rob Zatechka sit down with former Nebraska I-back Damon Benning. This is a jam packed podcast, some of the things they covered include Matt Rhule recruiting, college wrestling, and of course... craft beer.
The Husker Doc Talk Podcast is presented by BetFred Sports.

What an unbelievably great podcast. This is your lane. Loved the fact that you guys could argue and still be friends. Damon gave some wonderful behind the scenes revelations. The episode drips with honestly. Get coach Rhule ASAP! Prepay for Rhule’s Uber or have someone pick him up and take him home so coach can have a beer or two.

This episode was by far the most frenetic of any that you've done.
Do it again, do it again!
    Great job, guys.

One of the most honest, straightforward and endearing podcasts I’ve ever see. Damon is absolutely brilliant. What an awesome interview.

I’m only 32 minutes into the podcast and I’m already thinking this might be the best episode yet.

Unbelievable listening experience for me as I stumbled on this cast. I’ve always enjoyed Damon and how he expresses his opinions and knowledge. Travis’s energy and his face to face in your eye opinion of what’s going on. But “Doc Rob”, this is fun full circle as you are on my resume from coaching you, and also Jon during your pre-high school football with Lincoln Midget Football when you played for Security Mutual. Congratulations on all your ongoing accomplishments through the years. As an old coach, who also went on to coach his children (2 girls), it was so connecting to listen to you all. It’s kind of funny, but my oldest (28), started her Nurse Anesthetist career this past July at the new hospital in Grand Island. Thanks for this moment, and many blessings to all you good dads. And in fairness to Damon, I would need the Bacardi Rum if I’m to be a guest on the show in the near future. 😂😎

Big Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History fan here. I’m with you Rob. I love the deep understanding of history and the world and how it came to be what it is today. Not for everyone, but it’s always very interesting to me.

Great call on five star transfers - what I noticed early last season was that teams like fsu and lsu had playmaking transfers from places like Central and Eastern Michigan not Alabama and Georgia.

One of the funniest podcasts. Really liked the straight talk from Damon about his son's recruiting experience. I glanced at the pod list from Hardcore History and I think I might give it a shot on my next road trip.

Great Podcast. I loved how DB opened up about alot of personal things. Tell him Jeep from HT says hey! Rob is hilarious getting of track. He was a huge dude back in the day that struck fear in many of us Pound Junior High classmates. 😂 He was also the class president in my wife's medical school class and obviously a smart mofo. 👍

Great podcast! I just have one gripe with DB, how is history NOT interesting! It’s literally the story of us. Not only is it fascinating but one can learn many life lessons from the mistakes of the past. I’d argue that other than Engish/grammer, History is the most importan subject in highschool.
Also Rob would still dominate at 325

Bourbon barrels for the most part are reused in making scotch whiskey. Scotch is always aged in used barrels.
