- My objective for this channel is to share with others what I have learned over the last 30+ years about living and eating healthier. I share my knowledge with my small circle of friends all the time. I am not a doctor, nor do I hold any type of medical degree, but I believe that my tried experiences may help someone else.
For over 30 years I have used every diet imaginable to lose weight, but I confess that I am now at home using the vegan lifestyle. I want to share what I have learned about eating and enjoying food. And, since I am still learning how to be more consistent with this lifestyle, I have decided to eat more healthily, realizing the weight will come off eventually. Though I have not reached my goal weight, I know that sharing with other people in front of a camera with help me to stay on course.
I have, with the help of my husband of 37 years, raised 3 grown children. I will also share some cooking shortcuts as well as some natural formulas I have used and still use for everyday problems.

This little tool would be perfect for me especially for peeling squash, like summer squash, and a plant. I haven't tried it for potatoes yet, but that is something I'm looking forward to trying. Thank you for this video.
You're so welcome, Dana. One of my greatest joys is to know that I have helped someone solve a problem. You just gave me a bit of joy today. Thank you.
This tool is so good to have in your kitchen. It will work wonderfully on potatoes. I use it for them a lot. Let me know how it works for you when you get the chance. Thanks for sharing 😊
Is to bad for small potatoes and you can cut your finger. And blade very fast rust. This is not producet for Victorinox itself but for Rex. Victorinox is only publisher.
@@smoklares9791 I do NOT use this for small potatoes. I use a paring knife. Try that instead and see if you get better results without cutting yourself.
My Swiss Knife does have a small amount of rust on it but after every use I wash it with a stainless steel scrub pad. Perhaps we both can look for a Swiss knife that doesn't rust. Not sure where to find such a tool. 🤔
I first saw this thing on a facebook add. I thought yeah right its that easy and even laughed about all the people buying them. Well my younger Sister was one of those people. She 3 of them gave 1 to Her Daughter and 1 to Her big goofy Brother. I have never peeled things as fast as this and as easy as You did Berta jay. Ladies and Gents this is a kitchen tool You all need. Love the post Berta jay. I am going to subscribe right now.
Now, Ian, yours is the kind of confirmation about what I have shared that I really love to see. Thank you so much and thank your younger sister for me for making a true believer out of you. Just remember this about my channel. I don't share anything that I haven't used and like. I tell the truth because I have Someone higher than us both to answer to. Thanks so much for sharing. 😊
@@bertajay My pleasure and You are most welcome.

It’s called a Swiss peeler , a Swiss knife is very different , it has many gadgets attached to it such as screwdriver , nail clippers , scissors , and will cost you more than 100 $ . This price of the peeler cost around 6 $ .
Thank you so much, Jeff. You are correct that this is a peeler. I am familiar with the Swiss knife. Nice to know that people with your knowledge find the time to view my channel.
Berta Jaye you’re kind & wise lady. Thank you so very much for all your precious time to share your love & knowledge about food. God bless you🙌🏽
We have been using it for the past 40 years . It is great
You are so right! Thanks so much for your kind support. 🥰
we use it a lot in the nederlands, specially for peeling patatoes, as we are a patatoe eating country
Being a potato eating country is a GOOD thing and this little gadget surely does help! Thank you so much for your affirming words. You are a gem. ❤😁 Have a peace-filled day.
wow...never wanted to tackle this problem in my cooking, but now !!!
Hallelujah! Marcela this little essential is so helpful! It's amazing. Thanks for your comment.
A butternut squash is murder to peel. Guess I need to get one of those Swiss peelers. That demo was amazing.
I have seen a sturdier version at Bed, Bath and Beyond which comes in a set of 2 the other is for julienne cutting. I get nothing for telling you that, just wanting to share what I know. Thanks for your comment.
I must be the only person who eats the skin of the butternut squash. it is quite tasty, almost nutty. you should try it!
Honestly, I never have. Thanks for the suggestion, Buji. I'll look into doing that. 😄
I bought one and it just doesn't do the job. I thought maybe I did something wrong, I had to squeeze it then run the peeler down and it did a terrible job. I have the same one, too. Very uncomfortable. Good demo however.
I am so sorry about that, Ce 😟. I really don't know what to say to you. Mine has a bit of rust but still works great. Again, I am so sorry about your experience with this peeler.
Just ordered a swiss knife vegetable peeler. Are you still liking yours? Great video.
she said gadget i immediately thought of the crazyrussianhacker
Real name, REX ZENA 11002: mine is still very efficient after 30 years.
Well, Hallelujah! I am so happy to hear that, Rex! I am sure others will read this and go out and buy one. 30 years, eh? I'm impressed ;-) Thanks so much for your comment.
.Yes, Swiss made and sold in this country about 2 bucks. You seem to have wonderful recipes: I will look around.
@@rodibremo I try to have simple and tasty recipes, Rex. Please look around my channel. I am sure you'll find something you will thoroughly enjoy. I appreciate your optimism. 👍🏾
thats the exact peeler i got
Great minds think alike ;-). Thanks so much for your comment.
did you get one that rusted? on amazon, lots of users reported rust after washing. If not, where did you purchase?
Adds pls
They look real tough peelers, I’ve had peelers snap on squash skin.
I am so sorry to hear that your peelers snapped. I have had this one for over 3 years and use it regularly with no snapping at all.
Got one.
Sorry for the delay, Heather, in getting back to you. But, I am so glad you got one. I have since found these at Bed, Bath and Beyond. Thanks for your comment.😀
Where did you get it, and has it rusted after washing? Seeing a lot of comments on Amazon reviews about rust.
@@stamps4fungin Actually, I got mine from a big fair that is held each year in Massachusetts called the Big E. They have lots of vendors! It's been cancelled because of the virus the last couple of years. 😕 I apologize for the delay in replying to your question.
@@bertajay Rust?
@@beckpender Yes, there's rust. If you find one that doesn't trust, please let me know about it. Thank you. 😌
How do you peel potatoes with that peeler?
Loverleezack, just put the potato in the opposite hand that you put the peeler. Put the peeler in the hand you write with and just pull the blade of the peeler over the potato peel and that should do it for you. I hope that answers your question. Just give it a try...that should work.
@@bertajay I lost a fingernail and a good amount of skin off the tip of my finger trying to peel potatoes with this peeler. I threw it in the trash and went back to my regular old fashioned straight peeler.
Remember this, @@Loverleezack, not all things work for all people. You did what was good for you. Congratulations! You got those potatoes peeled, right? But you also learned a valuable lesson minus a bit of skin ;-). Thanks for your comment.
@@bertajay thank you for trying to help me 😊
up
hey Hortencia...I am not sure what "up" means but thank you for your comment but could you tell me it means. Thanks so much.
... There were no tips n tricks here... thumbs down !
Thanks, Tony. Everyone has their own opinion and I respect yours. However, the tip was to find this Swiss peeler, buy it and use it if you want to peel veggies faster especially butternut squash. Sorry you didn't see that 😕. Have a peaceful day.
...Berta, I have several and they are great... Happy Thanksgiving...enjoy❗️
@@6122ula You have an "over the top" Thanksgiving, Tony! One like you've never had before. Thanks for your comment.🙂
