      Rabbi Tovia,
there is a contradiction between your way of thinking and the attitude in which the snake fails Adam and Eve and is a creation that is similar in essence to humans...
And the way of thinking and approach of Rabbi Friedman who says that the snake is a tool that encouraged Adam and Eve to step down (sin) in order to raise the physical world to the spiritual.
And my question is: what is the right way to look at the nature of the snake and especially its actions???
I mainly mean the approach in which Rabbi Friedman presents the snake as good. Or rather something necessary that needs to happen compared to your attitude and that of all of us Jews that you attribute to him - evil. And therefore he was punished.
      Tanks in advance.

Good and evil is human perception.
Choosing a mitzvah in Judaism is choosing God's choice.
And choosing God's choice is CHOOSING GOD. That's it.

Cain: has the meaning to buy.
      Eve said bought from God.
It is a philosophy of how one relates to God.
When you need then you go to God.
In short you are the focus and God is like a shopkeeper. This is how you relate to God.
His arrogant sacrifice was not accepted.
Abel is a philosophy where you are an accident and nothing while everything is about God.
      Both philosophies have a problem
But there is no reason not to accept Abel's sacrifice.
The next philosophy is Seth....God is involved. This is higher than cain and abel philosophy.
      Nachash is a dangerous philosophy
It is a non-God-understanding animalistic nature. Rejected by Adam as a partner approaches eve with sophistication using the term for god even when does not understand. Our basic senses do the same with us. Eat it looks good, looks healthy....kosher or not.
      Hope this is helpful.

Christians are guided by the Holy Spirit from within they don’t need a Torah instruction manual. Christians are saved by believing in Christ.
“And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells within you and will be in you.” (John 14:16-17)
“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you.” (John 14:26)
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.”
      (Galatians 2:20.)

I have been learning from rabbi tovia singer, he is a blessing to all people, while those who have him recorded are also serving the kingdom of God , i pray truth will fill all the earth, and not just the mind but may each of your hearts be filled with truth , peace, strength, and may God bless each of you!, somewhere on this earth I hope someone will pray from there heart to the heart of God, so God can heal me, provide for me, and love me! ...i have known God exists for my whole life, and when God loves a person , a family, a church he will bless them to know and obey his laws and bless them to please him! ( the holy prophet Jeremiah 1:5 before i formed you in the womb i knew you!) The words from God was to the holy prophet, we can read the words but the power and authority of the words from God must come from God. ...all i ever desired my whole life was to worship and obey God in truth of God, his will not my will! I was born catholic and never agreed with church leaders, so i was born to no church leader and into a family that did not accept the truth of my heart! My heart belongs to God, yet its up to God to accept and heal my heart! My mind is given to God, yet born in the usa they trust and believe in freedom of religion ,that has place the usa people in a nation that allows satan to have a religion and church on usa soil, while many religions arrive in the usa and as the celebration of holidays, the Jewish celebration of holy days! Major differences! So be thankful God loved you enough to be born to the nation God loves! The holy prophets and holy kings and holy priesthood is given testimonials in the holy bible. Why dont church and state acknowledge you are descendants of those given a promise from God? GOD sits upon his throne in heaven and each of you Jewish have a great responsibility to yourselves and family and nation and generation, you are the chosen from God! Let all the world hear the words of truth from God! In a perfect world the Jewish nation would tell all law makers the holy commandments and the law makers would help their citizens become citizens of the kingdom of God! Each of you could send copies of the torah and tanakh, to all law makers and the white house and vatican! All bible publishers and distributors should have to go through the Jewish leaders to stop the confusion and doubts! From the prophecy of the birth of Jesus, to the words written in the halls of nato about the Jewish Messiah! All should speak truth and only truth! ...God sits upon his throne in heaven.and watches over each of you! You dont hear voices and dont have the hardships of believing millstones and chains await you at time of death! While many have had dreams, visions, out of body experiences, many claim they are blessed to have God speak to them daily or weekly, while the holy prophet Moses and the hebrew nation had their true experience with God, so many others just continue to grow like victory outreach who has a lead pastor who begin the church in 1967, they have many of my friend who became church leaders, ...i never trusted a church that takes sin with pride and speaks how their sins brought them closer to God! Strange but they are now world wide church! ...while i ask for any true Jewish rabbi or member of the Jewish community to please pray for me and others like me! It would be a miracle or dream come true if i would be loved by God and learned to obey God as the Jewish community! The holocaust was a time the world thought the prophecy of the nation of Israel and promise to Davidic bloodline ended, but out of those ashes came the modern Israel!...so please dont give up on speaking truth. And pray to God for people like me! ( i was in a coma at las vegas veterans hospital, in state of Nevada) and during that time I spent many days suffering and hearing many things, in my coma i rationalized i was dead, or due to being in a coma i was hearing and seeing things, yet i saw satan chained to a mountain or cliff, i saw indians, and saw many sins , yet bulls and or heifers were significant and right before i woke up i saw a hebrew toy like spin top, ...i tell the truth and cannot lie, many would claim how much God loves them. And how God said he will bless him, I know many christians who would turn it into a book or testimonial, but i fear God and love God! And due to my desire to please God I suffer for many years alone! I am tired and dont want pray to make it to heaven, i just want mercy and compassion ! I want peace and health! I would love the miracle to just sleep forever!,..for his namesake! I hope and pray sooner then later the truth from God will fill this earth! I hope with all my heart and soul, that God and his holy prophecy will fill this earth, God knows i hope all will be saved and not one will stumble or fall! My truest heart from my youth is that from the least to the greatest from God , all will see how God is greater then all truly know, from the ant to butterfly to lion and bears the animals were created from God !and since God is so perfect and holy i hope and pray this earth will return to God! Imagine living in these days? Even if its the next generation or the generation after that, the greatness of God will be revealed, i just want to go where i came from, before God chose to creat there was nothing! And there feels like a place where truth and love for God can exist without God feeling grieved! Before God place you in the womb he knew you! ..the place where God did not speak, thats where i wanted to stay! Its not what i wanted when i first heard of God and his truth, but now its the only place for peace! The only place where God will never lose one to bloodshed as able! The only place where animals created by God are not food, the only place where all know God is life and God is perfect and justice ? Its where God reveals his voice saids " let their be light and God saw the light was good!"...God knows i love and fear him! God knows what my true heart always wanted, God knows now what i desire ! So please pray for me and pray the name of the Lord will fill this earth and that us humans will show God we can truly worship and praise him !

I will pray for you. I know the church is hard sometimes. Well honestly I don’t go. But now I do feel the love of God. I do love Jesus. I know it’s not common here. But I do remember Jesus is Jewish. And it was hard for me to accept he already loved and forgave me. But when a Christian speaks of their sins, it is because we feel literally feel the forgiveness. I struggled with letting go, but when I did, everything you long for, every feeling of closeness with God you hope for happened. And yes you can physically feel compassion and mercy. Sorry it’s real. I know you don’t like or understand testimony but once a true believer feels it they want every person they ever meet to feel it. I feel Gods love so strong I could stand there and get beheaded for his namesake and not deny him. I’d rejoice I’m seeing him soon. Someone is gonna yell if they read this post but I don’t care. God love is more important. Eternal life is more important. And I don’t care if Tovia blocks me for this as long as you read it first.
Knowing God is not about government, and politics, and churches, and everything else. It’s about you and him. Do you believe he would love you so much he’d send his son, a perfect lamb to die for you. Know you are that important, you are that loved. Don’t worry about the Jewish people who don’t urgently beleive, the Bible says later they will. They are his chosen people. About Jesus is a way for all people. He made all of us.and he loves all of us. Jesus is real and he did die for sin. It is impossible to feel the fullness of his love until someone takes the leap of faith and truly hands over everything to him. So yes a Christian looks at their sin and knows Jesus died for them, the fact that he covers them is important. Just know your already extremely loved, and comfort can be found in Christ.

Sorry Christian, I know you mean well, but you cannot have it both ways.
Like the rabbi has said many times, you cannot be married to God, yet also have a mistress on the side, a boyfriend (Jesus).
Nowhere in TaNaKh does it say to rely on human blood sacrifices, or that we should rely on a messiah, or that we should give glory and praise to a messiah.
Instead, what you do not understand is, your Christian beliefs came much later, a progressive revelation designed to capture your heart and deceive you, taking you further away from the God of Israel.
Jesus himself and his disciples didn’t believe in a trinity belief, nor were they Christians, because it did not exist.
      And for good reason.
Are you aware that Pharaoh and the Egyptians had their own trinity belief (Osiris, Horus, Isis) and worshipped a lamb as their god?
In fact, the very conversation came up between Pharaoh and Moses.
      Exodus 8:25:27
Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to YOUR GOD in the land.”
And Moses said, “It is not right to do so, for we would be sacrificing the abomination of the Egyptians to YHVH OUR GOD. If we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, then will they not stone us? We will go three days journey into the wilderness and sacrifice the YHVH OUR GOD as He will command us.”
Unbeknownst to you Christian, the God of Israel would never mimic the beliefs of Pharaoh and the Egyptians.
      Never!
From our lips we worship and give glory and praise to God alone, no other.
As a Christian, you are making a huge mistake.
Return to HA’SHEM all you ends of the earth!

Now I believe Jesus was here since the foundation of the world. Meaning he was already here and preordained what he would do. Now whatever you call Satan, wether it be Lucifer, satan, devil, whatever, he fell at some point. Due to him wanting to be placed above God. But since he fell, and already knew Jesus, well then he had the playbook. He knew what would happen, and knew what to do with his fallen angels and himself. He knew to play multi gods, and single Gods with sons, and virgin births, and everything else Jesus was meant to do or not do. It all misdirection and chaos. Satan is not dumb, and he knew and still knows doing things like this in the world would cause much doubt when Jesus finally came. He also knew to repeated screw with Gods. Your opinions do not matter Christian.
What matters is. What is God’s opinion.
      Isaiah 44:24
Thus says YHVH, your redeemer, and He who formed you from the womb:
“I am YHVH, who makes all things, who stretches out the heavens ALL ALONE, who spreads abroad the earth BY MYSELF….”
      Deuteronomy 30:15-19
“Behold, I set before you today life and good, death and evil……”
God Himself created good and evil, and assigned one of His angels Satan, who is merely an employee of God’s, whose job is to entice an individual whenever they make decisions in life. Satan, an angel, an agent of God’s, has no freewill, no angel does.
Satan is commanded by God to entice an individual in order to be a witness to an individual’s actions in life so that he can charge you in the heavenly court.
      This is God’s creation.
      Isaiah 45:7
“I form the light and create darkness, I make peace and create chaos; I, YHVH l, do all these things.”
Satan does exactly what God commands him to do, nothing more.
God gave mankind freewill, the freedom to choose life and good, death and evil.
God allows man to become enraptured with false religions for the same reason He permits a married woman to become attracted to women other than his wife.
      Freewill is within your grasp.
Virtue is only possible when sin is alluring.
Therefore we learn to choose life.
Or, there are consequences for our actions.
God allowed people to believe in things that are not found anywhere in TaNaKh, this includes the Jesus agenda.
There is no such thing as a dying God or a dying Messiah that dies in order to take away the sins of the world, nor is there such a thing as an only begotten dying son of God.
The Jesus agenda was a test from God all along, and Christendom failed the test miserably.
      Deuteronomy 13:1-5
“If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, and the sign or wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods,’ which you have not known, ‘and let us serve them,’ you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for YHVH your God is testing you to know whether you love YHVH your God with all of your heart and with all of your soul.”
As soon as you are sharing your heart and soul with another with worship and glory and praise, which belongs to God alone, you are failing the test. As soon as you are supposed to be married to God, yet you have a mistress on the side, a boyfriend (Jesus), you are no longer loving God with all of your heart and with all of your soul.
Again, Christendom has failed the test miserably.
Nowhere in TaNaKh are we instructed to worship and give glory and praise to a messiah. Nor are we instructed to rely on human blood sacrifices, or rely on such events in order to expiate our sins.
Instead, those ideas came much later in Christendom, a progressive revelation designed to capture your heart with a passion narrative story, deceiving you, and taking you further away from the God of Israel.
The question is, why aren’t you aware of this?
      And who taught you differently?
Because whoever is your teacher you need to fire them immediately!
      And the evidence is staggering.
And the time to realize this, is now.

    (12 September 2024)
My research suggests behind Eden's Serpent is the Sumerian serpent-dragon god called Nin-gish-zida (ca. 3000 BC) appearing in the Epic called _Adapa and the Southwind._
This account explains why man does not have immortality.
In 2010 I self-published a book on the Mesopotamian origins of Eden's Serpent.
I understand Genesis' serpent is in response to and in refutation of the Adapa and the Southwind Myth, and the Sumerian explanation of why man does not have immortality.
Nin-gish-zida, in art is portrayed as a human-being, bearded, wearing a turban, clothed in a robe.
From his two shoulders arise two serpent-dragon heads.
Other art forms show Nin-gish-zida able to transform himself into a four-legged serpent-dragon, with two horns, two wings, scaley body, long tail, walking on four legs. He dwells in myths in three locations:
    (1) The Underworld called Edin (2) On the Earth called Edin (3) In Heaven as a gate guard for the supreme god An or Anu.
Adapa of Eridu is warned by his god Sumerian En-Ki (Babylonian E-A) not to consume the "bread of death or water of death" to be offered him by An/Anu.
So, when Nin-gish-zida offers these items on behalf of An/Anu, Adapa OBEYS E-A AND REFUSES TO CONSUME THEM, LOSING OUT ON A CHANCE AT IMMORTALITY, FOR THESE ITEMS WILL CONFER IMMORTALITY NOT DEATH!
So, because Adapa OBEYED his god's warning, he will die, if he consumes, mankind is not immortal!
That is to say Man's god, E-A, CONNED HIM WITH A LIE:
    DON'T EAT YOU WILL DIE!
Eden's Serpent advises Eve, YOU WILL NOT DIE!
NIN-GISH-ZIDA URGED Adapa to eat what he thought was the food of death according to E-A of Eridu.
So, Genesis is refuting the Mesopotamian account of how man lost at a chance to obtain immortality.
In Genesis God gives His warning: "Don't Eat!" in the Garden of Eden,
whereas this warning is given by E-A at the city of Eridu, todays' Tell Abu Sharein, just south of Ur of the Chaldees, in modern Iraq.
That is to say, behind God's warning in the Garden of Eden is E-A's warning at Eridu!
E-A's warning in Eridu, to Adapa has been recast as God's warning to Adam and Eve in Scripture.

I have a serious question, if Angel's do not have free will. What do you make of Genesis 6
"When mankind began to multiply on the earth and daughters were born to them, the sons of God saw that the daughters of mankind were beautiful, and they took any they chose as wives for themselves. And the Lord said, “My Spirit will not remain with mankind forever, because they are corrupt. Their days will be 120 years.” The Nephilim were on the earth both in those days and afterward, when the sons of God came to the daughters of mankind, who bore children to them. They were the powerful men of old, the famous men. When the Lord saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time, the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved.
    Genesis 6:1‭-‬6
I'm honestly asking, because I was taught sons of God are Angel's, and they rebelled and went down and took women of their choosing, Did God allow this? Because the text does say Mankind was wicked, it didn't necessarily blame the nephilim, thank you.

Which means if we are created in the image of God and are like the angels but unlike the angels we will eventually become so holy free will is gone but not in the bad way it’s just in the way we will all know better to do wicked or rebel which the Tanakh teaches that one day everyone will know God and will not rebel…. As a final note this must mean the Satan could only possibly have free will IF he was a human and a descendant of Adam or WAS Adam WHICH he was NOT… ... But I don’t think you quite understand the Love of God I’m referring to. Yes I understand sin is transgression of the law. Anyone who loves God should know that’s obvious. But we are all sinners. This is also obvious. However I also knew for 25 years sin is wrong and yet this still did not bring me to Christ. The overwhelming love of Christ brought me to him. Without love he never would have laid his life down. Sorry if I’m more in love with love than what everyone does that’s wrong.
So….Sin is bad, this is understood since the time of Moses at least. But love is greater. For example in Acts Stephen is being stoned to death. He could yell this is wrong, you’ll receive punishment for your actions. It instead he said forgive them. When I ponder why, it’s because he doesn’t want their action to separate them from God, and possibly end with their condemnation to hell. This is just my opinion, but this is an act of love.
      Matthew 22
37Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
I honestly do believe all the law and all the prophets hang on these two commandments. Love God, and love everyone else. For if I love God I will proclaim God and his son,and want to live my life to please them, and if I truly love everyone else then I won’t want to sin against them. And then I will also forgive their actions because the thought of others in hell. It’s not even the fire, they would be separated from Gods love, completely alone no hope. that’s truly scarey and I won’t wish that on my worst enemy.

What happens is that they do not have a human form, as they are alien beings (not from Earth🌎), so they probably materialized into human beings, as already seen in countless passages. Genetic manipulation may also have occurred, but they managed to have children with human women, and then the Nephilim were born, who are described as superhuman beings (giants) who dominated antiquity, "the heroes of ancient times, men of renown." The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments. The entire Jewish people personally experienced that revelation, each individual in effect becoming a prophet, and each one verifying the experience of the other. With their own eyes they saw, and with their own ears they heard, as the Divine voice spoke to them, and also they heard God saying, "Moses, Moses, go tell them the following ..." They did not receive the occurrence of that event and accept it as some claim or tradition of an individual, but they experienced it themselves. That public revelation, therefore, authenticated the bona fide status of Moses as a prophet of God, and the Divine origin of the instructions he recorded in the Torah. That, and that alone, is the criterion for the belief in, and acceptance of, Moses and his teachings.

The Snake or, rather, the Shining One, is imagery for an individual who has been clothed so as to not go about naked. Such as Adam being clothed from when he wields the fiery sword on the day of vengeance as judgment or, Noah's nakedness being covered for when he treads the winepress of wrath. The first creation story is about the New Heavens and New Earth. The "Light" and "Vegetation" were created before the Sun and Moon. You can't skip over that and still call it a creation story in the current manner it is viewed. The world, the people, became a wasteland, empty, and void of understanding because of their sin. Adam, and Noah, starting out in a barren landscape, are a repeated story of the beginning of the work of the salvation of the Shining One and his people. At their completion, when the fiery sword is wielded and the winepress has been trodden, G-d will put an end to all mortals on earth and your covenant with death will be canceled. Adam and Noah and everyone will lose their covering.

So basically when we were in the garden of Adam and Eve, they had no free will. until Eve ate the apple and then humans got free will. so are you saying we were never meant to have free will. And the world was only supposed to be one man one woman.? Cause this is very contradicting, so Eve ate an apple that got humans out of a garden and gave humans free will because the tree she ate from was the tree of knowledge and that is the final truth so you as a rabbi should be thanking Eve for your creation today and your free will Can you or anyone please reply back

In my opinion the bible is saying " free will " is of the serpent. In the bible God said, " Eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and you will surely die." There is no choice in that statement, it can be accepted as fact because it is the word of God. Its the serpent that says something different, " You wont die, you'll be like him." Eve chose the word of the serpent, over the word of God. Adam in my opinion took the fruit because he felt inadequate next to Eve and her new found "enlightenment." And seeing she didn't drop dead, he ate the fruit following the woman into sin, disobeying the word of God. Man keeps Torah because it brings him back into fold of the will of God. If left to his own will, man would worship a golden calf in the wilderness.

God created Adam to inhabit the Earth and not Heaven. Heaven is a place where there are no tests or tribulations and is eternal. Therefore, God made Adam and Eve inhabit a luscious Garden on Earth where they were offered all that they need from water to food and climate until they die. After Adam and eve die they will then inhabit the trial and tribulation free Heaven, eternally.
Satan wanted Adam to fail so he tricked him and offered him a shortcut to eternal life. Satan knows that God told Adam and his wife not to eat from the tree. Therefore, he whispered to Adam and Eve and told them here is your shortcut to cut your life short on earth and Go to the "eternal" Heaven, if they ate from the tree. He convinced them that eating from the tree will make them enjoy an eternal life and a un-vanishing lordship. The bait!
When they ate from the tree, God banished them from this Garden and sent them to a less hospitable place on earth and made it hard for them to get food and water unlike their former situation in the Garden of Eden. It is right then that Adam and Eve knew who was their enemy and learned to combat Satan's whispers and repented and obeyed God.

Another bang on explanation Rabbi but I have one question. Why is it that in this modern age, the Jewish Rabbis just don't come clean and tell all of the Christians, muslims people whose religion is based on Jewish Torah, that there simply is no God in the sense that these religions portray God? Judaism was first and foremost about living a peaceful life, the Jewish idea of God is basically the wonder of our cosmos and its creator (which is incomprehensible to us he ce their ineffable name for God). It would usher in the messianic age a lot quicker in this modern world. Pretty much all of the Christian New testament has been de bunked, likewise the Quran scam and most countries don't have kings and queens anymore (so no concept of divine rule from God through the church).????

The authenticity of Moses is based on the public revelation at Sinai: God revealed Himself to the entire nation of Israel, at least three million people, and proclaimed before them the Ten Commandments.

@@hrvatskinoahid1048 I understand what you are stating but that is not what my question was. Basically all religions are fake (except the original Torah) because they are based on an imperfect understanding of the Torah. The modern Jews today might even be surprised by the real meaning of the Torah, the creation is the meaning of Torah and beyond that we cannot fully comprehend more about what GOD is. The Rabbis k ow all this but they are reluctant to say it outright, it's in their power to destroy Christianity and Muslim faiths just by revealing this truth. Surely then with only one God concept we can all enjoy a messianic age?

No where does it say in Genesis the Serpent is The Fallen.
question is it plausible this incident was passed down differently in different cultures.
In Polynesia Tuna a sea eel fancied the beautiful Hina the first women and stole her but ultimately he met his death. In Poumutu (eastern Polynesia) another maybe closer related, As i remember it. An elder person at the advice of his wife kept an eel to gain his knowledge and wisdom, so he could have more mana (prestige). As they spent more time together the man being more comfortable in the relationship started wearing the eel around his neck. However he was unaware that the eel carried resentment for his captivity and was biding the "time of man", growing in strength and when the chance arose he strangled the person. In all cultures death punishment by strangulation has a significant meaning
(ie. Judas Iscariot/hung Potters Field/Clay field/Adam/Tiki/male/loser.Je-reph he was passed down unto Satan) and my understanding why the tiki and NZ Maori challenge to visitors has eyes protruding head bent sideways. Tiki means first man and also loser. Hei Tiki is warn around the neck by men and women today and believed to be a fertility amulet (in the past warn only by women?) but this is probably a development of different beliefs over time. The eel is also a slippery character.
