Hi....My name is Suzie. I live in Williamsburg VA..... I want to thank you for all the great recipes & ideas. I cant believe I have been fully whole food plant based for over 3 months now...….I have watched A ton of vegan cooking videos in the last 3 months & have tried so many new recipes.....THANK YOU so much....I watched chef AJ make broccoli tots & started to eat those regularly. I cant wait to try with hash browns & Italian dressing.....I will make a marinara to dip them in. I made insta pot ketsup with dates for my fries this week.....

Loving your channel. Recipes are real, not too complicated or too many ingredients. I had to jmp up and make some with sweet potato. I used frozen chunks of sweet potato. Steamed it for 10 minutes, mashed and when cooled a little made my tots and they are now in the oven, smelling divine. I added cumin and garlic powder. I am totally blind, if I can do this, anyone can x x

Thank you! This is so awesome. I just cooked a bunch of sweet potatoes so I'm going to try the sweet potato ones. I have been making sweet potato fries lately and I have found that a dip that goes really really well and tastes amazing with them is a Thai peanut dipping sauce. Basically a mixture of peanut butter (or PB2), rice vinegar, soy sauce, lime juice, ginger, garlic and chili flakes. You could probably replace the soy sauce with miso. It's a match made in heaven.

Those look so yummy! I like to use left over baked potatoes and I just shredded them up add spices and form little tator tots and bake. It's also fun to add riced cauliflower or broccoli to the mixture for even more of a nutrient boost.

@@michlass8933 I use chickpea miso too - and I think it's even tastier than the soybean miso. If you want to get the microbiome gut-health benefits of miso, you can't heat it above 115 degrees, just something to keep in mind. Lots of these recipes are just using the miso for the taste. :)

Oh yum these look amazing! And so do you! I love your new glasses too. Is it my imagination or are you getting even thinner with all these fabulous recipes you're creating? I so look forward to your weekly creations. I've shared your videos with my 2 adults kids (40 & 41) and we all follow you. BTW we loved your first camping trip with compliant whole food, preprepped; you are an inspiration to all WFPB followers. We cheat a bit but not much, mostly because of snacking at night, we try to keep baked potatoes, trail mix or fruit bowls ready but often lapse into organic corn chips, melted vegan cheese and salsa. Do you have any nacho-type substitute? Thanks Brittany for all your videos!

Tater Tots were not a feature of my childhood in Britain
As they seem to have been in the USA.
I do like twice cooked potatoes
Boiled / steamed, cooled and then air-fried
So I will be making some
I have some sweet potatoes that need using up
So I will start with those.
Your "dessert sweet potato tater tots" recipe would be interesting
And go with my apple and raisin lasagne as unusual desserts.

Sorry to be off topic - I left a question on your blog, but haven't heard back and I can't get an answer via google. Can I sub date syrup when a recipe calls for date paste? If so, is there a volume conversion? Want to make several of yours that call for paste.

    • @TheJaroudiFamily
      @TheJaroudiFamily  4 роки тому

Date syrup is generally thinner, I always recommend making homemade date paste (which is one cup dates pitted blended with one cup water)

Tried the sweet potato tater-tot recipe. They smelled absolutely amazing in the oven but refused to cook all the way 🙁 The moisture was too much even with adding plenty of ground flaxseed and chilling the mix ahead of time.

Maybe you could try adding some starch to them? Or mixing in some of Bob's Red Mill potato flakes. Another thought is if you have a dehydrator, your could spread the sweet potato mash on a sheet and dehydrate it for a few hours.
