Oh my goodness you made me laugh. I feel like we're sisters from different mothers...seriously, I feel like I could be BFFs with you. I've been watching various denture videos for a couple of weeks and this one is my favorite so far. I'm 58 and I'm currently going through the process of getting Immediate Dentures. I have my final wax try in next Thursday, then it's E day for me....14 extractions. I'm both excited and anxious. I've been dealing with horrible dental issues for years and I haven't smile in years. my dentist told me it was okay to use the tables after my reline and mine have been fine,. I use efferdent with whiting.
This might sound funny but I didn't care for the soaking container I got from the dentist so I bought a denture soak that looks like a box and I put butterflies on it. lol silly I know but I like it. I'm doing okay and I am so glad your doing good, I love watching you and some days just need the encouragement.
+Kathy Sanchez this is what I love about our community. Everyone gets different information. We live in the Information Age thank God. I can't imagine before the internet and going through this. I didn't like my container at first either, but it grew on me. I want to get that candle on, but I'm weird about washing it and don't know how that works. I like cleanliness. I wasn't able to wear my dentures for the longest time and on Monday I'm finally getting a permanent set to wear and I'm hoping to have better luck with them. I love your videos and wish my denture videos were as good to watch. Thanks for sharing with us!

Thank you you are so entertaining to watch! I just had my top teeth extracted two days ago, and then I have to go back and get the lower teeth out next week. It really is hard to adjust to, especially feeling so hungry sometimes. But thank you for the product show I don't wear adhesive right now , I hope I never have to! My mom had dentures and once in a while I had to clean them for her and she wore the Sea Bond wafer things which weren't bad, cuz they would just come right out..But when she'd wear this other powder stuff, I had to scrub it out of there, it was disgusting!! So I don't want to have to do that to my own teeth, yuck!! But I wasn't sure what products to get, l'm definitely getting that Orajel mouth rinse, cuz I am a bit sore. But keep making videos love to watch ya gurl😃. And what is a soft reline?
THANK YOU for mentioning the Oragel mouthwash! I have never heard of it! My gums are always sore because I have to wear a CPAP mask that pushes in on my gums. I am hoping to eventually get it all figured out.
Have you seen the denture powders? I finally tried on and it REALLY works! It doesn't creep up and over the rims of my dentures, and I love that! It just expands into the denture. It really holds better than ALL the rest!

+Janet Marshall Hey beautiful!!!! You're welcome, that oragel really does make a difference. It also don't burn like heck! I don't touch the powder just because I want to live life without it. I had used it one time because my dentist said try this and it broke free in 10 mins. I was over it after that. I do really well for wearing none. No fear of them flying out, or losing them even on the roller coaster lol.
Hey girlie, my compliments to you and Dr J. Looking good, I’ve had my new Hollywood smile for 2 months now and I’m not looking back. Had 16 teeth pulled, no pain med, recovered with ice from Sonic and popsicles. Hate pain meds. I use much the same products. Keep up the great 😀 smile! Love from your fellow brother in dentures. People love yours and mine smiled. I used Dentures and Implant Solution’s to do my work.

Hi Kayla...I’m a San Antonian myself and I absolutely love your videos and your personality. I’m 48 and I’ve been six months into my upper denture and bottom partial. I have the metal bottom permanent partial coming in soon but I have been very uncomfortable and just find so much positivity and great joy in watching your videos. I still can’t bite into things without my teeth pooping off from the back area of upper denture and boy does it hurt getting anything under my bottom partial. Like a tiny rock in your shoe type pain 😣 I would love it if you could share the name of your dentist with me if possible. Also what is the dental paste you use to brush your dentures with and what tabs are those you use to soak your dentures in as well? Look forward to hearing from you. Blessings 💕

+Courtney Madden You're super welcome!!! You've got this, you'll do great. I was nerves AF too. I thought I was going to throw up when he said ok let's do this today. I literally did throw up before the appointment lol... BUT.... he gave me Valium and that really helped. Once I took that, I was like ok let's do this thingy. And it was a breeze. The suck is really in our minds. We build it up, anticipating, and nervous, then after you think eh! That sucked but wasn't so bad. It's the day after you might dislike. Stay on top of the pain meds and sleep when you can. Don't do dishes, laundry, nada. Just rest! Lots of protein to help you heal and give you some energy!!!! Keep me updated lovey. I know you'll do great!

I hate having to use denture adhesives. But I have to. And the best one in my opinion, is the Fixodent plus. Poligrip is too slimy and snotty looking. Do you feel that way about it too?

Your dentures look amazing,I have top denture partial bottom,after while the bone that held teeth shrinks away I didn't know this would happen so with age mouth and lips shrink,I have 3 top speed and all look different,newest ones fall out and push lip out,but my profile looks better,older one fits perfectly but mouth looks sunken and chin,please any advice would be grateful,and I've never got poly grip or fixed entry to stick, xxx
+Ellie Goldie Hey Love! Thank you for the comments. I’m sorry someone didn’t take time and explain what would happen. With the teeth being gone, the body will reabsorb the bone. Without the stimulation, it has no real need to keep it there, thus changing the face shape, lips, and gums. You really want a good fitting Denture that both is functional, and ascetically pleasing. That just means it should work, and look good. Support the lips and mouth. If this one is too big, you can go the lite of adhesive to help fill the gap. You could also go back to the dentist and get a reline. A soft reline isn’t permanent, but it gives you a good quality fit. A hard reline is permanent, and gives you back the fit you once had before the gums shrank. Those are the best options you have. I can’t use my dentures without the soft reline, as much gums have shrunk so much over these past 5 months. Hope that helps baby girl!
I haven't got my dentures yet so i have no personal experience... but i heard a few ppl say u weren't supposed to use regular toothbrushes on the dentures? Is there a reason y? Or is that even true?

hi loved the video I have a bottom partical how do I get it to stay down while I'm eating it moves around lifts up food gets under it what should I use for denture creams I'm used some but I'm still having issues with eating
+toni sargent I had a partial on the lower and never wore them. I hated them. I had the same issues and it was next to impossible to eat with them. Now that I have full Dentures it's a lot easier except... food gets stuck under there and can send a shock through your body if you bite down (and you will) the only adhesive that's worked for me and not budged is fixodent plus. It causes headaches, but its lock and loaded. Doesn't move, nothing gets under it. It's crazy glue for gums.
My go to is poligrip (the green box ) but recently I got secure and I love that one too. I wish they had that in the stores. I don't need it but Liner and glue is so comfy on the gums lol
I agree on the soft supple comfort of using those items. Poligrip and I don’t get along lol
Kayla MyReason2Smile Aww lol I tried fixodent but I couldn't use it. Either the zinc or the red dye made me get a headache and made my chest tight..So I just use zinc free items.
Question and I probably should have asked my dentist but I'm strange when it comes to asking questions to any dr my mouth is very strange lol and I guess no matter how many relines I get I'm STILL going to need adhesive I've used the one that u like but dont use because of headaches its the only one that will hold it dosnt give me headaches but is there a certain time frame on showing I should wear it? Like yesterday I woke up at 6 am and ended up having to take my dr to the er so I didnt get to bed till 1 am this morning can it cause any harm? Sorry if this is dumb I'm new to this just got my dentures on Thursday of last week

Ellie Goldie it’s material added to to your hard denture mostly made with soft material. That helps denture stay in place much better.

After a couple yrs, I'm going to give my bottom denture another chance to get settled in to bottom gums. How long did it take for your bottoms to get settled without adhesives. Keep smiling darlin!
Hey! So the bottoms are like a whole other world. Even with a soft reline. They will absolutely still move. The trick is to work with them as they move. It takes patience, and practice. It’s possible though!

Happened to me had to adjust my diet and Stuff it sucked
Just got Dentures June 5 after two day's shy of 6 months post Oral Surgery. Already need a readjustment to the lower Denture, as it rubbed a small sore on the inside side of right gum. Not too impressed with the look of the lower. The teeth are too short and look unnatural. The upper Denture doesn't have good suction. Have TMJ, Bruxism (Asleep and awake) and a maloclusion.

Hi I'm getting all my teeth taken out on the 7th and I would love to ask you what you used to get you through all the swelling the pain aswell and also a list of what I will need straight after like products you know what your talking about thank you xxx
+Sarah Brown hey sweetheart! First congrats on making such a huge change for your health, and well being! You'll do great. Second as for products, and pain management. I was told to alternate ibuprofen and my tramadol. One for swelling, the other for pain management. I can't touch ibuprofen so I just stuck with the pain meds. So I got home, and slept after taking pain meds. The next day I took my splint off as I didn't have dentures placed immediately. Every 4 hours I was taking pain meds. After 2 days I started really using alcohol free mouthwash. No swishing like normal but more so just putting it in my mouth, and shaking my head around. I didn't want dry sockets. Then I would alternate salt water rinses. As you will have a horrible taste in your mouth. On day 3 I had to switch to a higher dose of pain medication. I went with hydrocodone. Day 3-5 is the worst! Like ever. I wanted to die.... well sleep just sleep. It was painful. After about day6-7 things got way better. Stopped taking pain meds and went back to business as usual. Got my dentures placed 9 days after extractions. With no teeth, I just ate soft food, and ice blended protein drinks as alternating heat and cold helps with swelling as well.

Bromelain keeps the swelling down......from supplement store, and goldenseal for soreness as a mouthwash/antiseptic

Hey!!! Mine used to leave crap on the gums, but it doesn’t anymore. Usually..... I haven’t really dabbled in powder. I used it once, and it didn’t work. I gave it the old college try! So now I’m using fixodent ultra. It really sets in there well. I don’t have issues of it sticking to my gums either. It tends to stick just to my denture when I pry them out at night. I’m single as well, so maybe I’m not good at dating with dentures lol 😂🤭Not sure I’m qualified to share all of my epic fails. It actually does scare me. Like telling someone about it, showing them, not wanting to hide or be called a liar. I don’t know. I haven’t figured it out yet. If you do, let me know :)
Stain away is the best stuff ever... I swear that is the only way my teeth stay white.. omg let me know if that lip scrub is any good.. I love lush I need to go get me some bath bombs...
+TheGirlWithTheSMILE • yes it is baby girl!!! The lip scrub is great. 10 bucks and worked like magic. My lips were super dry and liquid lipstick was looking a hot mess. Used that and boom they are perfect. I would suggest bubblegum as the others are kind of weird lol

Confused, when you do the reline do people use the adhesive at the same.
They can. A feline is done once the teeth stop fitting properly. Some dentist only do them at certain intervals, and some do them at request. Every time mine stopped fitting, they gave me a new one.

I didn’t like the powder. I used it once, and it was trash. I stick with fixodent plus. It works the best for me. Hold all day long, and I don’t have to worry about it.
How long did it take to be able to talk and use to the feeling in your mouth?
Maybe 2-3 months. It can happen quicker, but I tried not wearing them as much as I could lol

hi love your latest two videos the product one was good my teeth are really loose it's been two months since I had them out I rang my dentist and told him he said he can't do anything cos he is on holiday for a month well I was so annoyed there was no one else working at this place so I rang another place and they said they would have to take more impressions and it will cost 200 pounds so I have to wait I'm English and the dentists here don't do relines or they must call it something else I'm confused, anyway they don't do a lot of products for denture wearers in this country it took weeks to find a denture brush I went in 4 different shops here also I can't find any reline products it sucks as you would say hahaha I can get fixadent and poligrip I hate that stuff it's sticky when they come out, I paid 1300 pounds for my dentures and never even got a brush or anything with them as a starter pack also I've noticed they are not straight when I smile they have been like that since day one so when he comes back he will probs get an ear bashing from me hope to here from you soon x

You already have the teeth, so it should just be the cost of an adjustment. Might want to call another place! Try ordering from amazon, that's the best way to get products shipped to your country for the cheapest. I hate hate hate adhesive as well, so I really hope it gets better soon. You paid for your dentures, you deserve for them to fit well, and work properly.
Hi new viewer I'm in the process of getting dentures and does your mouth hurt for few days after getting them in because I'm hearing that they do?
Yes they do. It’s definitely an adjustment. They will in no way shape or form feel like your real teeth. Just being very blunt with you. Until you get the right fit, it will be somewhat uncomfortable. The dentists job is to do the adjustments throughout the process to keep you as comfy as possible.

At first, you can’t do anything. Once they start to heal up, you can use adhesive.

You can’t floss dentures.... no don’t try. I try to remember to brush my mouth to stimulate the soft tissues. It’s a good idea for sure.

I have, and haven’t had any issues. I clean my dentures with whitening products, so I can’t imagine it would harm them.

The worst part of using polident is at bedtime, when you take your teeth out, and you have all that extra polident product left over on the roof of your mouth!!! Picking and pulling it out and still, there is more that you just can’t get off!! So gagging to me!! Lol!! Also, because i drool at night, I’ve developed a sore spot or burn on the corner of my mouth, and I think it’s from drooling the extra polident from the corner of my mouth! I don’t know how you do it girl!!

I had 22 removed Tuesday. They gave me two pills to help with anxiety. The pills were sleeping pills and didn't work for me as I was still awake at 3vam.
The shots! OMG the shots were killer. My body started shaking really hard. My blood pressure and heart rate dropped. I cannot believe I was awake. A memory I hope to lose.

When do the sore spots go away?
In my experience, they only go away after you get the issue fixed. A sore spot is a spot that the denture needs an adjustment. Remember the gums will be ever changing in the beginning. The only way to get rid of that pain, is to fix the root of it. So after I would go in for an adjustment, it would usually take a couple days for the pain to go bye bye.

I have tons of it, and it’s probably expired now. It’s a trashy company, run by trashy people. Just my opinion based on convo’s with the CEO, and head of sales. Maybe they’ve changed
