    Just ordered 6 LP from Sam Records, paid directly to their bank account. Thanks for the recommendation.

    I'm loving your co-host (the dog) ;) - great idea to showcase all the nice audiophile labels. Sam is fantastic. I am lucky to have a shop near my home that stocks their releases. But sadly, the only one I have so far is the Miles Davis 10" Ascenseur Pour L'échafaud, which is excellent. I really need to find the Nathan Davis 3xlp and the John Lewis 'Afternoon in Paris' release - how beautiful is the red typeface over the black and white photo on the cover and that Versailles center label! The attention to design and packaging detail is immaculate. The fold-over jackets are lovely. Great series. Keep it up! Cheers for now.

      The Co-Host is Karl my Whippet :-) On my Tone Poet Part 1 Friedrich helped me out, those two are also audiophiles in the best sense :P.

    Found you from from Mazzy - Subed and now I'm staying! I've got to say that I really enjoy your videos. My intro to SAM was the Miles Davis 10 inch... having that sold me on the quality of materials and pressings of the other catalog LPs.

    Good morning Michael. So many great choices from this label. From your suggestion in a previous video I came across Art Blakey Live in Paris 65 from Sam and bought it straight away from the store. Beautiful cover and such wonderful sound ! Am enjoying your record label series very much. Ciao

    Nathan Davis Live in Paris is gone from the Sam website, EXCEPT they have limited numbers of the promo available. I picked one up today! Glad to find it still. I hope there is no difference from the regular pressing. Thanks for your videos. They are a great resource for collectors!

    "As always", thank you for your advice! Just got the jazz sur siene and afternoon in Paris (February 2022) so, they are being repressed. Waiting for the delivery!

    The Sam reissue of Miles Davis’s Ascenseur might be my favorite Miles recording to date and I own a lot of Miles D recordings. Just bought the John Lewis and Sacha Distel today. Fabulous! I have several Chet Bakers too. How does a one guy operation produce this kind of quality reproduction and packaging and ships worldwide? Amazing.

      Agreed, what a wonderful label! Just listening to "Jazz Sur Seine". This record sounds so beautiful and alive. Hard to believe it's from mono! Also it's incredibly quiet vinyl - Bravo!

    Hi Michael - I have enjoyed watching your videos. I wondered how long you have been buying audiophile records? I have been buying them for 15 years and have a considerable collection of around 1600 titles across Jazz Classical and Rock/Pop. I enjoy all the audiophile labels you mention. I would also recommend Intervention Records if you haven’t tried them yet - for me they are at the same level as Analogue Productions Music Matters and MOFI.

    • @Michael45RPM
      @Michael45RPM  4 роки тому +1

      Yes i have looked into this Label but did not start to collect, if you recommend them it is one more reason to go into them soon. I collect them for 8 Years now.
      And 1600 audiophiles is very very impressive!!!!!

    • @jamesellis8456

      I guess so. I was lucky as I started buying them in 2005 when the $ to £ rate was low. I have nearly everything released on Analogue Productions, almost everything from MOFI since they restarted, a lot of Speakers Corner (200+) most of the Music Matters titles and a lot of Classic Records .ORG Music Original Recordings Group Impex and Cisco. So many great records and not enough time!
      I haven’t checked to see what is still in print from Intervention but I would recommend checking out the Judee Sill dbl 45s, Gene Clark, Flying Burrito Brothers and Stealers Wheel titles.

      I have the Judee Sill (incredible good record and pressing) and wait for the repress of the Flying Burritos, as for the Speakers Corner, i will do the first Part of them soon.

    Many thanks for this video! I have all Sam Record titles complete now and I really love them.
    Check also the latest Nathan Davis - Peace Treaty, that one is beautiful sounding and has great compositions. The band is really on fire on that one, check it out! :-)

    Love this channel! I subscribed the day you and Norman did the collaboration on his channel. Is anyone aware of the Nathan Davis 3LP set available in the US? Would really love to own the set, but the shipping is steep.

      Welcome Tyler. Maybe you can buy one at the Ingroove, as the owner is very fond of these releases too. And yes shipping is terrible....

    Hello Michael, I've a got half of their catalogue, including Lewis & Distel and both Byrd albums (recorded in the Olympia venue - not the expensive "Artisan" one). I didn't take the Nathan David because of the price. But why not ? Thanks for the tip. I will order the Bobby Jaspar which is the second one in Sam catalogue. I have already the first one. The Barney Wilen is famous to be rare as OG : a record store I know in Brittany got one (bad cover condition) for 1€ but sounding fabulous... he could sell it around 200-250 €. Not for me. I think I will go for the Sam Reissue. I already have his fusion project in Africa reissued by Souffle Continu (in Paris as well) : great great album. Have you purchased the recent Live In Tokyo (not an analogue one - recorded in digital) which was issued by Elemental Records in 2019 ? I found "La Note Bleue" original album four weeks ago near my home. I showed this in a recent video. Waiting for the part 2... take care. Bruno

    How have you found the Chet Baker records compared to the Blue Note one you showed on Maslov's channel?

    • @Michael45RPM
      @Michael45RPM  4 роки тому

      Now i have to start different as Mazy puts it very well :-) >>>difficult to compare, but overall on the same level, maybe the Sam are more to the point and slightly sharper at the edges (they (Sam) do probably do not care so much for the asian market :-) which in this case is a good thing.
