Annnnnd I know I said before in the old one but, oh and by the way everyone. SoniDelta just updated the Modern Sonic skin you see in my video to "Version 3.7".
Improvement:
Improved the PRM maps. (Better AO maps and certain gloss effects)
Bugfix:
Fixed the missing poly / face on one of his brow expressions.
Addition:
Gave Sonic's nose a shine effect.
Adjustment:
Slight changes to Sonic's frown expressions.
SoniDelta: "Been a bit, huh? This update contains way better PRM maps that include better shading. So stuff like his eyebrows are more visible most of the time, and his shading looks miles better! I even gave him a gloss effect on his little nose! Also, I fixed a few of his frowning expressions and one of his brow model that was missing some faces or poly. I also fixed his blink models a bit more so the clipping isn't as obvious.
I plan on doing Update 4, but I don't know how long that will take as I might see if I could migrate this project into Blender, so I may have to experiment a bit before I ensure a concrete release window on that."

A lot of the characters felt kinda soulless, lol. I won’t trash the game too hard since it’s so obviously because of how bloated the games roster is, but a lot of the characters, especially Mario and Sonic were pretty much just husks of themselves, lol.

@@cantmakeacreativename2072 At least Mario has good reason. He's Nintendo's mascot, built to work in any game he's put in, smash was no exception back then. He's the first character that everyone else is based off of. Sonic had attitude and personality, even as a mascot. He was made to be different, and break the mold of the industry standard. How that holds up today is arguable, but by 2008, he had plenty of material for a cool moveset. Time constraints changed things, and for some reason a decade later, He's still the same, if not worse than when he came
Not just is Smash.
He had a lot more personality in Brawl, even without any different poses. It's Sega who's changing who Sonic is based on the plot they wanna get in, rather than having the plot revolve around Sonic and the other characters like they did before 2010.
The GOAL sign was such a missed opportunity.
Lucina didn't realize this, but she is facing Sonic after Frontiers. She learned the hard way. 😆

Alt title: If Sonic was given a fucking personality beyond static face and reused voice lines from other games instead of having Roger do new ones like Griffith did.
Here's hoping they do that for the next Smash game, although I think they would have done the same for Brawl if the game came out 1 year later.

They should make specific victory screens in the next smash games. An example would be like in a team battle Mario and Luigi would have a special interaction in the winning screen

@@benjaminscott3526 honestly I prefer anyone to roger, Ryan and Jason are very similar and both sound like they're cocky teenagers while Ben Schwartz and Jaleel White voice a much younger sonic which really fits, but roger does a U turn and changing to voice completely and makes sonic sound really goofy and old, it's as if an old man tries to sound hip and cool. it's really off
@@theliaminator01 I know the fandom is very divisive when it comes to the blue blur’s voice actors. But maybe I could be wrong and crazy for saying this but maybe that was the point. Sonic Team deliberately wanted Sonic to sound older so when Roger was auditioning, they basically chose him and that’s what we got, you know? I may be wrong though.

@@theliaminator01 Yeah, it’s strange isn’t it? Despite being in his 60’s as of 2024, Jun'ichi is still voicing the fastest thing alive to this day. I guess it’s sort of cool he was a English tutor. Thus, he often spoke occasional engrish over the course of his voice over and singing career. It was weird but cool when he portrayed Sonic in engrish in some way or form, you know?
