I disagree. Not because I didn't like him in the role, far from it. I think the MCU has too many heroes as is but no villains that last more than one movie besides Loki. What I wish they'd done is make him a constant danger throughout the BP saga, building him up to be a bigger threat by BP3. That would give time for T'Challa to establish himself as king, settle into the role, only to have it all taken away from him. He deserved better than just being a one-off villain before being killed off.

He was a hurt kid, they took everything from him. And they left the poor kid behind. The kid grew up alone, he wasn’t a villain. Inside he was just a kid, full of pain and anger. That he’s own family abandoned him. And his uncle killed his father. But that death was necessary, but the huge mistake was living him behind. He was never a villain. He was just filled with anger and lost. So he took his anger out to the world.

Marvel has always portrayed the heroes correctly and beyond that but when it come to Loki, Killmonger, and Thanos. They possibly did better than any of their heroes, they gave us true villains and we understand why they did what they did, for a short moment we even believed in them.
It's so sad thinking that if t'challa's father didn't turn their dad in and perhaps tried to compromise , killmonger could have possibly ruled alongside t'challa and changed wakanda....

This movie was spectacular, not just because of its cast, but also because of the how the villain was faceted and not just your common bad guy.

I gotta say, watching the movie you really, really felt his anger, even after seeing all these emotional moment. You felt how righteous and enraged he was, but going back and seeing these scenes hit different. There’s no epic music. He’s not the bad guy. You see how much pain he really felt. He was broken.

I needed "Wakanda Forever" to be a redemption arc for Killmonger. I didn't get that. But I have this masterpiece. Thank you.

Michael first auditioned as T'Chala, but landed as Killmonger. Idk what the hell was the casting thinking. Chad is already doing great though, But I don't doubt Michael doing much better as Black Panther.

I loved the dynamic between T chala and Eric, T'chala truly cared for his cousin when he found out, he saw the problem and decided to become a beacon of hope and change to the world rather than a powerful ghost nation. We lost out on the death of Chadwick, he was a great actor and I hope we bring back Eric as the Black Panther (warrior) and Keep Shuri as Queen. The mantle of Ruler and Warrior ain't always together I think. I could be wrong.

Wanting to stop oppression is heroic. Wanting to stop it by blowing up cities where oppressors live and killing their children is not heroic or justifiable; he doesn't mention specific crimes by the people he plans to kill, or what their children have done, he just wants to burn, explode, kill millions of people. This is a movie; not what I think "black people being in charge' would do. It's certainly not what President Obama did.
I really would have liked to see Kilmongers plan play out over a couple of movies. The Avengers would have to get involved.
