Life saver! I just moved to Spain and I've been drinking brewed coffee my whole life. I've even bought a traveling "pour over" mug, but left it in Chile. I've made espressos from espresso makers, instant coffee, etc, etc...BUT I've never made coffee in one of these, seen them over the years. Landed in Spain, and my Airbnb had one...Googled it, this video came up, and i just successfully made my first cup thanks to you. I may never go back to brewed coffee... Thanks again for the quick, clear, and concise instructions!
Thank you for this. My family is visiting Italy from America and staying at an Air BnB where the only thing available is this strange mini coffee pot thingy. We wake up approximately two hours before the Italians do so there was no coffee to be had from any local cafes (none open yet). Your video saved the day (or the morning at least)! Thank you!
Thanks, your voice is so sweet. My friend just gave me a Fino stove top maker just like the one you have. Now I have confidence on how to use it properly. Cheers 😊❤️
Very nice, when I first got one I did not realise the coffee was espresso strength , I made my wife a cup, probably 5 shots plus she did not sleep for a day or two and developed a rash, I have never been asked to make her coffee again. Cheers.
.. maurieo .... Omg.... sorry... but the way you wrote your comment made me laugh.. All I could envision was a cat with wild eyes strung out on coffee. Oh my.. your poor wife. Strong coffee is not my "forte" either. Sometimes it's best to let another make their own coffee. . I don't dare ask hubby to make mine, as he has no idea the difference between instant and ground coffee. I'm still picking coffee grinds from out of my teeth months later.. hahahaha.... well..... it feels like I am.. ha
IB tried to make himself a cup of instant coffee with my ground coffee last night. I managed to stop him just as he was about to pour the water into the cup.
I always thought these were cool coffee makers but had no clue how to use it. Love the simple break down AND the tip about it being espresso strength and how to make a "normal" cup! Great job!
I’m the only coffee drinker in my house and only was looking for a “just me” device. This excellent video has convinced me to get one of these. Many thanks.
Thank you! Its been 30 years since I used my expresso maker so your video really helped. This morning *before* viewing the video I tried using mine and had a few issues - which got coffee everywhere on the stovetop and floor!😢 Now I know how to use it correctly.
Excellent video and I learned a lot. Thank you now I know how to use this machine. I purchased one of these machines at the flea market for two dollars and I had to sit in my closet for 10 years. I finally figured out how to use it. Thanks to youand it works absolutely perfect so again thank you for everything
Thank you so much! I was looking to buy a cafetière, saw these ‘Stovetop Expresso Makers’ and had literally zero clue as to what they were! As (like in your example here), I would mostly like a conventional coffee, it would be good to compare the taste of these vs other methods.
Thanks for keeping it simple and keeping it real. I just watched a couple of fancy, complicated videos about how to use my new stovetop espresso unit. But yours makes me think I can do it. Cheers!
thank you, i got one of these a few years ago, stumbled through one use because it's didn't come with instructions and thought i was going to die the rest of the day because i apparently drank 5 espressos at once. much more hip to coffee itself now and needed proper instructions before i pull it out of the box again.
Thank you for the demo. I mention you coffee pot in one of my comments, it seem quite old fashioned. But I didn't realize it was an espresso maker. I also like my coffee "long". That's another British word usage I have learned.
Oh! What do you call a long coffee? We also call them Americano when long and black. Thanks for that - I'm fascinated by all the linguistic variations.

Thank you so much for this straight to the point video. I have this type of stovetop coffeemaker as a Christmas present. I just locked it away in one of my kitchen cabinets because I haven’t got a clue on how to use it. I was thinking of trying it one of these days. Thank goodness for your video! I would have drugged myself and my family with mugs of strong espresso strength coffee! Now i can confidently show -off my expertise 😜and dust and start using my coffee maker. I don’t comment much but I go on deployment tomorrow and I have one of these you just really saved me seeing as though I can’t have a coffee maker but we have a way of heating a kettle
Hiya, I always wondered how they worked, so cool and I bet it smells amazing 😋Yum. I'm really loving the videos ! You and Izzy definitely brighten my days in lock down , keep them coming, thank you
We have one of these in the UK and one in Australia... but I must be doing something wrong as the coffee always tastes bitter! I think I must turn the heat too high, as it takes less than 2 minutes to boil, and I must leave it boiling for too long. I'm looking forward to experimenting when we're reunited with one of our stovetop coffeemakers... and I love the idea of topping the cup with hot water to make a longer drink! - Mandy
Ah yes! As soon as it starts to boil it’s done and needs taking off the heat. One viewer suggested keeping the lid up so it doesn’t get too hot and I tried that and I decided it helped it to taste even better.
@@PlanetImo That's a great idea re: leaving the lid up! I'll have to try it very carefully, and take it off the heat straight away once boiled! :)) - Mandy
Keep the lid up and the heat medium. Once the pot starts to fill up keep an eye on it and run the bottom half under the cold tap just before it starts to splutter at the end. It can be be the last bit that makes it bitter and if you boil it too fast. Seemed to make a difference when I tried.
Great video! Didn't think about using heated water ontop of it. Coffee was super strong... but now I know why lol. Even putting coffee in it, i was like this feels like a Lot lol. I have a question. I also prefer pouring my coffee into a big mug but since it's espresso i dilute it by just adding boiling water. but how u store the remaining espresso for the next cup of coffee? plz, share your storing method after brewing. thank you for this great video :)
😀 Ahh thank you so much for watching the video. My coffee doesn't often stick around long enough to need storing! 😂 I just keep it in the pot and have the next cup within an hour or two the same day. That said, I don't think it's ever as nice reheated, so if I know I won't be having any more within a short time, I use my smaller espresso pot and only make one cup's worth, so that way it doesn't have to sit around for too long before being reheated. I'm not sure if that was a very helpful answer, but thanks again for watching and I hope you enjoy your coffee! 😀☕

I LOVE it! I'm not sure how the taste would compare to your espresso machine? I'm assuming that uses a similar process? They tend to be pretty top-notch too, don't they? I absolutely love mine to the point that I prefer it to 'cafe' coffee now, but I think we often do prefer what we are accustomed to. Thanks again for watching and I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
It should taste strong like the espresso (if is done properly) but slightly less creamy. Is a good coffee to make tiramisù either!
I use one slightly smaller than this and make about half a cup of espresso every morning. It has to be pitch black , that's how I like my coffee.
Nice video 🎉 is this worth getting over a french press? My french press is broken so I’m not sure what to purchase next
I definitely prefer the taste of the stove top coffee. I think it just depends on your preference?
Thanks for watching 😃
@@PlanetImo thanks ill give it a try👍🏽
Nice one 👍 👌
You have such warmth!!!
Aw thank you!
What coffee did you use and where did you buy it? Thank you.
I actually really like the Tesco's own brand called 'Italian Inspired' which has green packaging. I mix it with Lavazza decaf if I can get it. Recently I got a grinder, so I've been trying some different beans to see what I like. I've mostly been using shop's own brands tbh. Thanks so much for watching!
