» ABOUT THE GAME - Starsector is an open-world single-player space-combat, roleplaying, exploration, and economic game. You take the role of a space captain seeking fortune and glory however you choose. In this series I'll be using the Nexerelin mod which adds many 4x features to the game like diplomacy between factions, alliances, wars, invasions, planet and asteroid mining and more. Fun trivia fact: Leibniz (pronounced something like libe-nitz) was the name of a genius perhaps on the level of Isaac Newton...in fact among many other things, Leibniz independently discovered/invented calculus along with Newton, and furthermore we actually use Leibniz's notation and terminology instead of Newton's.

With Nyx and random sector generation, you always start with transverse jump (and completed academy quest line) - no need to spend a point on it. Also super happy to see another starsector series so soon!

(abbreviation of Explore, Expand, Exploit, Exterminate) is a subgenre of strategy-based computer and board games, and includes both turn-based and real-time strategy titles.
- As per Wikipedia
To further expand, base Starsector you cannot invade and capture planets and stations already occupied. This applies for both the player and AI factions.
There’s also no inter faction diplomacy, they don’t colonise new planets.
This tends to leave the core worlds and game a bit stale especially late game.

Yes the colony threat was getting pretty ridiculous. You almost DIDNT want to establish a colony, or at least not until you had millions in the bank and a strong fleet to use in defense with all kinds of toys to build up patrol fleets fast and tough. I would still be inclined to not establish a colony for a while.
It got nerfed fairly well since I started the original series so that's good

@@Rhadamant actually not, took me a good 2 minutes to scroll through all of it and find the last episode of that series(you got a ton of videos lol) and I’m confident that’s not a me problem alone, so it would be common courtesy to just link your own video when you refer to it, makes it more accessible for the viewer and by that creates more views on your own video. It’s genuinely a missed opportunity, especially when talking about a video series that by the nature of sorting things will end up having the latest episode on top of the list, which makes it even harder to find the start of the video series.
In all honesty, it ended up being such a search, I didn’t even bother watching it, which I would have, if it simply would’ve linked episode 1 of the other series or linked a playlist or whatever.
Now you missed out on hours of watching from my end (I’m a no-lifer and always have something running on my second screen) and even though that’s just me, think about the compounding effect, as I generally care more than the average person (hence my explanation), so I’ll put more effort into looking for it in the first place.

@@Rhadamant at around 2:20 I think you referred to another series, when turning off help, saying if you’d want to watch a let’s play with tips and such for new players (which I am and which I want) we should check out the other series.
You have a link to a playlist in your desc that sadly doesn’t work and links to some weird business related website (?) and aside from that it’s horrendously tedious to look through all your vids to find the right one (especially as new viewer that has no idea about this game).

Do the pirates still act like pirates if they’re set to flat relations at the start? Them starting with -50 to everyone is rather key to their identity I would have thought.
They don't initially but they find themselves at odds with other factions quickly
