Danke!
That is the best tempo ever for the last chorale... I loved it!
Meravigliosi
Gänsehaut🙌
Nun komm, der Heiden Heiland,
Der Jungfrauen Kind erkannt!
Dass sich wundre alle Welt,
Gott solch' Geburt ihm bestellt.
🙌🙌🙌
Sieger geworden! 😮 "Keiner kann es schneller als ich!"
A great Cantata, of course, with so many fine things - but what an astonishing little jewel there is in the bass recitative, beautifully sung here.
Bach is the legend of all time. And definitely will remain the legend of all time. That's all. Thanks for uploading. Excellent chorus....,,,excellent soloists, plus, excellent conductor. Thanks for uploading.
Great music doesn't require hundreds of performers, and this cantata(and all other Bach cantatas for that matter) is ample proof!
The reason that recitative is so good is because its as far away from a recitative (while still being an actual recitative) as possible!
Selten einen solch kultivierten Bass gehört. Chapeau.
The bass recitative is exquisite!!!
Soprano and bass were excellent!!
Congratulations on the magnificent work, JS Bach's interpretations are very touching. The capture of the instruments is absolutely accurate.
superb
Sehr gut
Conductor Lutz is clearly showing by now that he is an emergent star, at the same level as Gardiner, Koopman, and Herreweghe. JSB from Heaven is evidently blessing him with abundant inspiration....
Far above in my book! The education aspect is what the others don't have!
Meravigliosa sinfonia
this cantata contains my favorite recitative ever.
tartinitrumpet Christ knocking at the door? Utterly sublime from Herr Bach.
If it is: "See, I'm standing in front of the door and knock", yes! a powerful expression of humility
another amazing performance, thank you from Canada.
Gracias, una interpretación emotiva, clara y expresiva. Úrsula Werren
Gàcies per posar la meva traducció. Visca BACH!
An unforgettable performance by a fantastic choir, supported by an excellent orchestra in the magnificent baroque Swiss Kirche of Trogen. Loved it. √
LOVED THE END FINALE SCHLUSS KORALSTUCK!!!!!!!!!!! lol What excellent choral singers... I cloudnt' have sung it... Bravi tutti.. Du auch Rudolf
Vom Bass hätte ich gerne mehr gehört. Wunderbare Stimme, gute Technik!
Manel Walser, a name to remember. His electrifying bass recitative was so compelling I watched it twice in succession!
Messi, Argerich y maria cristina. genia!!!
Stupenda esecuzione bravissimi complimenti
Beautifully played!
The bass guy was really good.
Maria Christina Kiehr and Gerd Turk! 2 absolute masters of this repertoire! Their performance of Buxtehude with Scola Cantorum Basilensis is superb!
Indeed, my favorite rendition of the Membra!
Excellent. All soloists were very good, although the bass was my favorite.
Gotta love the pensive man in the front row with the maroon scarf. Brought out by his fellow member of the continuo section.
Bravissimi
The clean, lean, and bright sound of this chorus becomes Bach's "instrumental" approach to vocal writing.
MANUEL WALSER ROCKS!!!!!!!
Is a great Bass...
NO!!!! HE IS WONDERFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!
Fuck!!! Why there are not much interpretations of this guy in UA-cam!!!!!
BRAVO FOR ALL THE WORK!!!
Wow, that was terrific! A fabulous production
😢
rarely the interpretations of the same cantata by the two main UA-cam 'cycles' (this one and the Netherlands Bach Society) have sounded so different: very introvert and in retreat (and thus, slower) the latter, extra-outward and 'in your face', including sound and speed, this one. Both valid interpretations (the new year coming like a king here, a more reflective look at beginnings and ends there) and very good performances, but I somehow prefer a more middle ground.
Basso's part, is so beautiful...
WUNDERBAR!!!! (from Brazil)

Wunderbar!
The beginning or opening is the best.

Fantastic cello work, no peg. How can one play so aggressive and not drop it?
Love this!!!
This people in UA-cam might have the decency of not inserting ads between movements!
Music starts 0:50
3:22-nél a szemüveges öreg hogy érezte a végét .
Great...
_GOD bless all performers, and I will pray for the 38 mentally impaired thumbs down party that they seek help soon!_ 😋
My guess Rudi was not happy with 1. The precision was not quite there enough for the Stokowski effects to bloom. The forte cutoffs were ragged, which blunted the overall effect.
Wonder if they applauded after it was sung in its original setting of worship?
Fantastic, but the chorale is too fast
10:21
mhhh... question to the audience:
Is the first part of this aria in 4/4 or in 3/4?
It's in 3/4: www.bach-digital.de/rsc/viewer/BachDigitalSource_derivate_00000748/db_bachp0045_page053r.jpg
The 57 people who downvoted this are soulless shells.
Agreed
4 was perfect except 4 last 2 chords
What an outrage, to interrupt sacred music repeatedly for commercials. How can any self-respecting musical group put up with it?
At least it is between movements. There are some videos where they didn't care where they put the advertisements and wind up with the advertisements in the middle of a movement.
@@karlrovey adblock solves this completely
Pay for UA-cam Red. Then no ads.
Note the accompanying workshop where the conductor explains his interpretation, drawing on theological sources: ua-cam.com/video/Wk6C17T0sMQ/v-deo.html
Bach und Mozart sollte im Fitnessstudio Laufen. Dann kann man sich die kopfhörer sparen
what in the flying hell was that last movement
The final choir is too fast.
Exactly what I was thinking.
Gute Aufnahme.
I feel thia work is not one haudred percent Bach
No, no, it is really is. But Bach based this cantata partially on the style of French composers, so this is that it may feel different.
Was haette wohl herr Harnocourt dazu gesagt...
Harnoncourt.
Warum hätte ihn das stören sollen?
@@steveng2639 Hardincourt! LOL the lesser god
BWV 849??
Well what hasn't already been said?
You can say that again.
Hab einen 👂🐛davon
10:39 Well, by the look on her face I guess Kiehr didn't liked it hahaha
+WhiteStratGuy. I saw it as well. I think she's complaining about the (too fast) tempo of her aria, who knows?
This aria was at the very top of her range. In the beginning her voice cracked just ever so slightly. I think there was nothing wrong with her performance in the scope of the entire piece, but I guess it's hard for the performer herself to be an objective listener.
Es ist zu schnell
That rush on final movement was bit exagerated
I found it fantastic.
More than a bit.
brunocoliveira89 No, it wasn't.
Way too fast. Listen to Suzuki's rendition and come back here and tell me this isn't way too fast.
After reviewing more than 3000 pages from Bach's cantatas, we see that some pieces get an Adagio, Largo, Allegro, etc. The final choral has time signature C, and there is no Allegro added. That's why I don't understand Lutz's fast tempo.
Is the final movement a joke? Let the music BREATHE! Why rush through all those glorious harmonic shifts on "verlangen"? I'm usually a big fan of these performances but that was shockingly bad.
Unbelievable
völlig wild, lass ich mir gerne schmecken
First!
Make that
speed"!!!!
Yikes the Amen , komm du... is just so fast. They can't sing or play it.
The final movement is absolutely dreadful!!! One of Bach's more inspired chorales completely destroyed by a ridiculous spend!!!
just joking.. the end of your sentence was horrible... "ridiculous spend????????? JSB gave no indications on the dynamics... to each his phone!
Gute Aufnahme.
