    One comment if I may, on tinning and soldering: it adds another layer of contact for the voltage current to pass through and I’m sure this would affect the sound quality. it would be the same as tinning the blades of the wall plug, would it not? Crimping with cold weld technology would be best. (Where are possible of course). Thank you for the video.

    There are very good reasons interconnects are coaxial..

    When you say it’s the best interconnect in the weld, is that because welding is better than soldering for connections?

    I just use vandame mic cable and neutrik connectors , all for twenty quid ,,, it is probably what it was recorded with in the first place , I have run half a million dollars worth of audio on leads I got from the supermarket before today ,,, I love the hi fi world , its total madness .

      i tried the mic cable butyou can step up the quality further if you use Van Damme's Locap55 guitar cable and some Chinese knockoff WBT style plugs

    Excuse my ignorance. Im thinking of making a set for connecting phonostage to preamp. Would this be suitable as ive seen comments about shielding etc. Obviously dont want to go to all the effort and the cable not be suitable. Any advice welcome.
    Chees.

      Hello, this cable is self shielding, by the way it is plaited, but if you're concerned, you can always use a silver plated braid over the top, or alternatively build 2 lengths of my ultra high end digital interconnects, that are triple shielded, check out the video, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

    Excuse my ignorance, but why are there so few strands for carrying the signal.

    • @synaesthesia2010
      @synaesthesia2010 6 місяців тому

      he's using solid core wire which is better for carrying signals than stranded wire, solid core is better for low frequency details

      Hello, I show in the video on a small length, how to braid/plait them, take a look, thanks for commenting & watching👍

    Started to make a set of these and found it easier to do the braiding by drilling hole in a piece of wood that was a snug fit to the braided size, pushing through the hole as you do the braiding, easier on the fingers and faster.

    • @tweakerman
      @tweakerman  6 місяців тому

      Hello, but how do you remove the wood?

    • @JonathanHolmes-l6q
      @JonathanHolmes-l6q 6 місяців тому

      @@tweakermanIt was just a piece of 18mm thick plank with the hole drilled right through, with the wires poking through the hole , you just fold them over in your braiding pattern and as you continue the braided wire appears out the bottom of the hole until the complete length is finished, would send photo but don't know how!just to clarify, push 10mm of the bunched up wires through the hole, start braiding the wires with them laying flat on the board in a cross pattern, pushing the braid though the hole as you go.
