It's weird seeing these characters animated so well, my only concern is that the old limited animation style had so much charm to it, but the new episodes and the movie that came out a while ago still had a lot of charm, I wish they kept Shake eating the spaghetti in the intro
I was taken aback of the animation quality of these new episodes. I’ve been binging the og series in preparation for the new season and these two episodes have such phenomenal animation. Especially the seasons premiere’s fight scene, it shocked me of far the took the animation and it’s insane to see how much effort the animators put in. Personally I don’t mind the animation change, it’s nice they’re trying something new and I think it’s worth it. I get why some people are not use to it considering that in the last 11 seasons the animation was never this fluid but I feel like people going to like it over time. Can’t wait for the rest of the season.

I've been watching ATHF since at least 2001 and possibly before AS was formed. Those early years of AS sucked pretty hard besides ATHF, Sealab 2021, and Space Ghost. Around 2003 everybody knew the Aqua Teen intro and it was probably the hardest show on Cartoon Network until AS started picking up some anime. That being said, I hope AS throws them some more budget money as that show basically put them on the map.
I remember watching the Gorillaz on AS when they came out with Clint Eastwood. They only played it once and it took me forever to find it again after that. Yeah early AS had some crazy stuff on it. The little shorts during commercials. Crazy stuff especially in the middle of the night.
Personally would have preferred if they went the Dunk Side Pieces route for the animation, but still not a bad start. Definitely can't wait for the next 3 episodes to drop!
I was like. 14 when i first watched Aqua Teen Hunger Force, it was the second season, the Broodwich. It got me hooked, it was the type of show that i watched when i went to sleep. Now that i got the complete 11 season box set, as well as the first movie, i can rewatch it if internet gets cut off. One thing about the box set, Spacecadatz has a weird thing where it just plays every episode at once, like episode one is right next to episode two, all in different sections. So its better to just hit episode selection and just play it like that
I haven't watched the new episodes yet (I'm literally getting a MAX account just to watch them lol) but just seeing the trailers and some clips gives me a weird feeling. The animation is almost too fluid and I wasn't crazy about the opening sequence. There was something charming about the low budget feel of the original run. That being said, more ATHF is always a good thing and I would love it if Adult Swim ordered more episodes.
I think I might prefer the old intro due to the limited animation, I don’t know why, but it feels more in character for the characters to move that sort of way, especially shake, and it’s weird seeing the camera move to the mooninites and not shakes eyes like he’s the big guy. Plus, I think meatwads section is a bit over animated. I like him just moving around the place in the old intro and plus the spaghetti part is cut, which is sad. But overall a great rendition, glad they’re going back to Aqua teen and not something else. I also think they did frylock a bit dirty in the second episode. I know they’re making the character a bit more stubborn now, but that literally feels like something that would happen to Carl, and not frylock.
Aqua Teen is a fascinating show to me. No matter the odds, it always manages to return, sometimes stronger, sometimes weaker, but always with a relative informality. Almost as if they never left.
in my mind, the new season being so well animated on par with PLANTASM was sprung from one of the last comments at the end by Ignignokt: "you paid for a full feature, but you only got 75 minutes" and it made me think, "haha, that's true actually, this is a considerably short movie- wait... did the crew syphon off some of the films budget to PRODUCE THE NEW SEASON??? 🤯🤯🤯" but now knowing the truth, i can see just how truly lucky the crew were by being greenlit for a 12th season 👌🏽
I couldn't be most excited for the greatest Adult Swim show to make it's return to it's rightful place and the two episodes had me rolling as usual lol

These 5 episodes that have now aired just goes to show that the longest running ADULT SWIM show in existence. The opening is just like they used the movie in terms of the theme song The logo is FAB BLESS ATHF FOREVER!!!
I thought the 2nd episode, while not my favorite of the two, really stayed true to the writing style of Aqua Teens, Frylocke does all of the work and suffers all of the consequences 🤣

Honestly, these episodes were mid. I personally do not like the animation upgrade, part of what made aqua teen so funny was because of how limited the animation was. Even with their expressions being limited to only a few animations, they still manage to be expressive (fryloc lifting his eyebrow for ex). The limited animation was also inspired by Hanna Barbera cartoons, so to upgrade the animation is to also lose the inspiration. The writing ranges between a 6 to a 8, with the best aspects being the main characters. A lot of the jokes don’t feel like the humor from previous seasons, which I find weird since aquadonk manages to capture the humor better than season 12. Also Shake namedropping a bunch of references feels pretty cheap to me.
Tbh i thought these episodes sucked i never thought a show could go downhill because of better quality animation i think they need that 60 thousand dollar buget because that stiff animation look is iconic for this series and it was funnier that way and tbh the only joke that hit was when shake used all middle fingers as sign language i wish i could tell u it got better in episode 3 but that one was even worse i dont think the show is past its prime cause they did say they had more ideas for episodes back in 2015 and it toes have a place on modern as but not like this
I love this show, I grew up on this show, but I didn’t like episode 1 at all. I saw and and never want to watch it again. Episode 2 was much better, but I’m not a fan of this new animation style.
New animation is jarring and out of place. VR episode was lackluster and none of the jokes landed. EP2 was thinly veiled Covid prop. Wish the show stayed dead.

To me I watch everything so there no such thing for 5 episodes they'll be back on summer season or winter they should make another 5 episode in 2024.
