Hi can you do an analysis for bts-on. Because most videos about them are pretty old and I think they have improved a lot, and their dance is more difficult this comeback. I've also heard some people say that jhope is no longer the main dancer or something like that so I think it's gonna be really interesting

In izone only Eunbi and Chaeyeon truly stands out but in Loona everyone can at least be a lead dancer while I can't say the same about Izone. Loona also have better dances and have shown more consistency in their performances.

I got excited for this, I had a feeling Yves, Heejin, Olivia Hye would be top in that order. I feel like Gowon and Choerry is underrated in dance line, I just like how clean and consistent Gowon is. I would consider Yeojin dance line, but I don't know if that's just me?
Yes!! Yeojin also has potential for being in the dance line. Also GoWon and Choerry are really underrated dancers, especially Yerim who is a choreographer too
If I had to pick only 7, I'd pick Hyunjin instead of Yeojin like what the creator does. In my opinion, Yeojin is a good dancer, but when I see Yeojin and Hyunjin dance together (was it on Idol Radio?) Hyunjin is much more precise (dance angles?) and much cleaner. I think that's because Yeojin is short lol, so naturally she tends to underdance.
@@valenyosas if anything yeojin overdance, she a lot like wendy, full of energy but really bad placing making their angles and placement quite bad, but wendy improved a lot and like the third best in groups so maybe the same thing will happen to yeojin but for now hyunjin is still a better dancer cause of sharpness and better control
i consider yeojin but she is too small (cute) his arm execution is not like the others because she is too short
Yeojin is such a good dancer and truly shines when dancing to girl groups, I hope she gets more recognized as a great dancer in the future

Loona is such a well-rounded group, especially with dancing
so is IZ*ONE. hitomi aka the weakest dancer out of the dance line is just as good as hyunjin, but then you also have chaeyeon who is better than yves by a whole tier. even the non dance line members (minus sakura and hyewon) are low C tiers, which goes to show how stacked their dance line is really. what I’m trying to say is Loona isn’t the only group.

@@kyooongie IZONE have 4/12 amazing dancers and that is Chaeyeon, Chaewon, Yena, and Yujin. Then we have Eunbi who is decent. But the rest of the girls are not decent dancers. They either have bad technique or under dance too much. Some members have no idea of how to dance with energy. Even if your a weak dancer you can still give your best and find a way to catch attention.
In LOONA, we have 6/12 amazing dancers. Heejin, Yves, Hyeju, Lip, Choerry, Gowon. The top 3 are main dancers material. Heejin has surpassed dancers like Lisa, Seulgi, and Chaeyeon. Yves with her clean moves and Hyeju is just so powerful. Lip, Choerry, and Gowon are lead dancers worthy. Loona’s non dance line members are better than Izone’s. Chuu and Hyunjin are good. Jinsoul, Vivi, and Hasuel may be weak, but Jinsoul makes up for it with her stage presence and Vivi, Hasuel can stay in sync with the choreo.
Loona are just better than Izone in every way.
If you want some other well-rounded dancing groups, there’s TWICE, ITZY, Stray Kids, Gfriend, or Dreamcatcher. But I will pick Twice, Itzy, Loona, and Gfriend as the best.
Can we talk about Kim Lip, I’ve seen some people not acknowledging her dancing skills. But here she is 4th and slaying the choreo. 🤩

period. ppl see over dancing as better but fail to realize technique is what counts. and gowon is a trained dancer. yes there are areas in which she can continue to improve upon like any idol. but she is very much overlooked. i personally would've ranked all the girls who were in C to B.

i don’t see a lot of comments about heejin but she’s really great! i feel like people always expect heejin to do well, so whenever heejin actually does well, she doesn’t get as many appreciation as the other members who make people go "wow surprisingly (members) can do so well!" :(
that aside, i’ve been noticing that she is indeed a great dancer, back in mixnine she was admitted as one of the top dancers next to itzy’s ryujin. she’s also a pro performer, she can do any concept just fine!

yes!! she's one of the best idol-dancers in my opinion. she has the best facial expressions compared to other kpop girls, she slays every kind of concept and has great technique.
I feel same. The expectations are so high with this girl. That when she gets it people tend to shrug on her because that’s already expected. I wish fans would also commend her for achieving such expectations.

@@nela_ I feel like people overcompensate - Heejin is the Face, but she also gets lines and key dance parts. But the thing is, this isn't HER choice so may not be by malice but hyping other members because they aren't showcase that much is a bit of unfair to Heejin. I noticed that now Chuu is receiving the same treatment, when back in the debut days where Jinsoul and Kim Lip.

Also I understand that the ranking comes from this video strictly, but I’d love to see you (down the road obviously) do some analyzing of the boy group dances Loona has done (especially cherry bomb, that would honestly be a lot of work though) Just from what I’ve observed on my own in their boygroup, Choerry seems to have a TON of precision when dancing, also seems like she could have some potential with popping/locking the way she can cleanly put powerfully hit certain moves. I watched a fancam of her doing love cherry motion live once (the second dance break) and was absolutely blown away because until then u hadn’t realized how good of a dancer she was.
Lilly Camp seconding all of this. i remember watching this episode and being a bit disappointed bc Choerry is my bias and i know she’s better than this particular execution of “so what.” I won’t make excuses since as an idol im sure she’s aware every performance counts, but she’s definitely one of the most underrated dancers/members of the group. *insert LCM duality meme here*
The ranking doesn't come from this video strictly, but more like from the whole 'So What' choreography execution. OTS analyzed the dance practice(s) before describing each member's 'technique' of execution. I agree that Choerry is a power-centered dancer, but it's true that she doesn't 'shine' as much in this particular choreography/style. I also agree that she totally shone in boy group dances though, along with Olivia Hye. I think their ranking will be (much) higher if OTS ever analyzes their boy group dance covers.

Honestly, Gowon, Choerry and Hyunjin are overlooked in the dance-line. Probably because they have one of the strongest dancers.
I'm not trying to be rude here, but gowon choerry and hyunjin are pretty average when it comes to dancing. Just an opinion btw.

@@hyunjinssoul2354 personally I don't really view their group performances as outstanding. I think anyone can say that about any group. It's just up to professionals to prove whether the groups actually are outstanding, amazing or not.

Have you seen Yves' dancing to Taemin's 'Drip Drop'? What's your thoughts on that. I think her footwork is super clean and her movements is fluid.

She has been doing only the dance line for bigger groups . So I am pretty sure Hyewon and Sakura might be there. No hate to them, they are amazing and improving really fast but just not good dancers in my opinion

D tier
1. Lia (Lia actually has above average upper body control and good arm movement.She also is able to perfect the angles required for arm movements. Her biggest weakness lies in leg movements. She tends to be very stiff which results in either missing the beat or underdancing. She also lacks an eye for details(however that tends to come with experience so it's okay) She also has good facials however )
F tier (just belowd D though)
2. Sakura - (That girl has amazing facials. That's her biggest strength. Unfortunately she lacks flexibility. This leads to very stiff movements,underdancing, poor angles. Her control over release of energy is very weak too.However she actually tends to catch quite a few details of the choreography and manages to complete the movements)
3. Hyewon - (Hyewon is still very stiff though she has improved loads since pd48 and I am proud of that. Her biggest weakness is that she undercuts her movements a lot and doesn't get proper angles. It tends to seem as if she rushing through the choreography or being extremely slow as it results in fractional changes in timing. Her facials have actually also improved a lot)
Adyasa Mund this is cool! What do you mean by angles? Are there any examples you can give about poor angles versus good ones? If someone isn’t flexible does that mean they’re screwed at dancing haha
Yves is in A tier 🤩 and wow Heejin, Olivia Hye and Kim Lip were so close in the tier it must have been hard ranking them. Let’s also appreciate Hyunjin, Gowon and Choerry’s dancing skills all of them are so great! Thank you for this great analysis!
Yves will definitely get more of a spotlight as time goes on. Sooner or later people will notice her prowess. Loona’s dance line is pretty underrated, especially Gowon.

I think one of the most obvious reasons is that Yves is a more versatile dancer than Chaeryeong and Yeji.
I think Gowon, Choerry and Hyunjin coulf be placed a little higher on the C tier because i don't think they're lower than Wonyoung in dancing

It's probably because Wongyoung did better in Violeta than how they did in So What. This analysis ranks them based on how well they do in one choreo, and based on what I've seen here, So What may not fit them as well as other choreos, but I don't know since I'm not a dancer or anything, that's the conclusion I've got from this video

Right? I was surprised! I've always felt like Heejin is in the top 3 in Loona but since it seemed like Oli and Lip were getting highlighted more during the video, I thought it probably wouldn't match up with my personal ranking.
That said, it's not that surprising... she's so freaking talented!!

One thing I've noticed in So what's stages etc is that, Choerry always seems to walk a far distance to a particular area for the 'SO WHAT?' part in the chorus. By that I mean that whilst everyone else in Loona is doing the foot choreo in one place, Choerry walks to another place and she seems to walk a good few footsteps too, to get to her location. I thought that , that's where she lacked the footwork for that certain part in other words display 'weak footwork". She probably wasn't accustom and learned the choreo that way. I'm not a professional dancer or anything it's just something Ive noticed. She probably lacked in other footwork movements in the dance too, but to me that stood out the most cause it's one of the most obvious. In Butterfly she displayed alot of good footwork and control. Thank you for doing this, you have a very good way of explaining and expressing.
ohhh that makes sense since choerry's part is in the chorus and need to switch places several times. thank you for pointing that out since i was a little surprised to see OTS said that she lacked in footwork especially since she's the center for fire cover dance break which required fast footwork, now this explains a lot 😊

Yves deserves the spot period! She's a great dancer, powerful and elegant. For me, Heejin is top performer material. Facial expressions and dancing on point and can pull off any concept. Literallt an ace of an idol if you ask me

Choerry is sooo underrated and at the same time she is the most improved member since "Hi high".Just look at her in Loona's covers, especially Cherry bomb Fire and Eclipse.Her facial expression are really unique,she can change it from happy to serious (in Love Cherry motion)in 1 second.She is one of the most charismatical members.Of course,Gowon and Hyunjin are very powerful and great dancer but for me Choerry isn't just lead dancer she is like average main dancer together with Kim Lip and Olivia

@@sam6719 yes,Yeojin is now like great lead dancer,if we look at her fancams,but Vivi also improved her dance but for me her vocal now is amazing,she really can sing very very well and also she finally has a little more lines(especially in "Yes I am) and in their cover Vivi is in the middle of line distribution

But I still hope that people will appreciate them more
2:57 I'd never noticed that Olivia is the only one who adds that leg movement. I watched a different dance channel video which pointed out that she also added neck isolations in a move in Why Not. I get that when you dance in a group you need to blend and match well with the other members but I personally like how she adds her own little flair to moves. I think it often makes the moves more interesting.

the only difference is that on the scene pointed it out as a strength, while whiteravenkpopfan pointed it as a weakness. I personally agree with ots more, but with loona's choreography where synchronization is needed to show it's true beauty, i see whiteravenkpopfan's point

I 100% agree with kimlip being a good potential popper. Even on the bridge part after the slower half (2:56 where you commended olivia hye on that additional leg movement), you can notice kimlip's version being more "poppy or popping-like" and it looks unique on her.

Hi! I would like it if you could rewrite the critique instead of writing "same as earlier". Often times I can't remember what has been said before and I would have to rewind the video. Even though saying the same critique sounds repetitive, I think it would give us an easier time watching the video. Thank you so much for the great content !

I don't know if what I saw is right... based on the tier I think Eunbi is not in the same row (idk the right term) as with Ryujin, EU, Soyeon and Olivia.

I really love this series! It gives us non-dancers a glimpse of how dancers see other dancers, or what their perspectives are. Its really educative for me too (coz I have a lot of dancer friends)! Please keep doing this series~~~
