@@RCEscape True. Just flew mine today as i received it yesterday. I like how in Mode 1 it flies low due its programmed to fly indoors and not fly high till hit the ceiling. And I'm suprised how stable it is with optical flow in Mode 1. The gimbal works great, but camera is okay. The App works well on my samsung. Lots of safety features on this drone which is amazing. Overall, i have to say the manual really makes my eyes pop!.. lol.. but worth a read. 🙂

Not a bad beginners quadcopter, especially at this sale price. Camera is only okay-ish imo; you get what you (don't) pay for.
I for one am surprised to see a 3 axis gimbal on a $150 drone. That actually does a good job.

I finely got one and it is all that , the name is Stong and young in mandarin but the camera is a good but until it takes my mind to do and record it before I go away, its really good one as the thing is if fpv came down by half of enny drone it would take the whole world into fpv racing quads and one day it mite go to say the top CoM "competero" that must keep the true justice of flying in a way that they may call us and so a ftf on the phone were the majic thing we know is not just out there but it's all so iner earth all tidy and a bit of work has to be done to help us in a bigger Voice than we thought keep on keeping on, tickty Boo 💢🏴💢

You won’t be able to go to mode 1 outside because it’s for the inside with the optical flow sensor instead of GPS mode
If you arm the motors and take off before gps lock, you are able to fly in optical flow mode 1 and does not matter if you are inside or outside.

You should take photos while its in the air to see how clear they are
you can achieve the same by pausing a running video.
You should also test the follow-me feature on roller skates and skateboard and skies and parachuting in case roller skaters or skateboarders or skiers or parachute jumpers want to buy this drone.

Excellent review.. Thanks for covering a lot of the specific features that are unique-to-this-drone and it's app.. I just got one ( have not flown it yet) and am curious several things: one thing I find odd.. They recommend fully charging the Lipo batteries after each use.. I got the version with three batteries and they all came in fully charged too.. This seems odd to me since it's contrary to setting a 3.8 vdc "storage" charge voltage recommended for most other lipos.. did you note this? Also, can you tell me what are the gestures that it supports? I know you're supposed to be able to trigger a Photo or a Video.. can you make it take a photo while it's shooting video without interrupting the video? One other thing, I've watched some other SG908 videos and some have a lot of jello in the video if the drone is moving.. I don't see this in your video here.. why not ? did you edit it out?, or is your particular one a better quality drone than the normal SG-908 off the production line? Quadcopter 101 had a similar "good" experience during his review..

Pretty decent for the price. If this came out a couple of years ago, it would have been great! Now, there are so many budget gimbal drones to choose from. This is the year of the budget gimbal drones :)
Does it require compass calibration every time the battery is swapped ? Please answer yes or no only.

they released this one week after i ordered my sg906 pro which was in transit so it was too late to cancel order. it was selling for pretty much the same price as the sg906 pro at that time too, i was very gutted to say the least.
that RTH not kicking in unless phone and remote disconnect is very disappointing.
Yes, they should put in a parameter where you can turn on or off the disconnect from the app for the rth.
I did exact same thing from banggood, being shipped now. No cutomer service China. The 906 pro 2.

Something strange going on with the camera. Throughout the picture appears to be lighter (different colour) in the middle of all video seen. Nice review however.👍

I think what that may be is the yaw factor of the 3 axis gimbal. It sort of also looks like the prop shadow.

Mine transfers to the phone just fine automatically. Allow the app to access your photos.

by the way: I'm curious about this too, I put in a 64GB PNY Exlite V30 card formatted FAT-ex and it worked while taking videos and photos, but I did not see a way to re-format the card while its mounted within the drone.. nor does there seem to be a way to tell if the video or photos were properly written to the SD card while in the drone using a "Playback" option to see it on my smartphone either.. anyone know if these options exist and I've just missed them in the APP so far?
go to the app and click on the album to access playback.
@@RCEscape Thanks, I need to play with the app and get familiar with it but this reply begs the question, ... if Playback of the “Album” on the App plays the full resolution video stored on the drone’s SD chip, then is there a separate stored location on the phone where it will store the video it records across the WiFi link while the drone is flying? I’m assuming that live video on the phone would be much poorer quality but will show the border I see with all the Apps commands and status indicators around its perimeter.

How do i get it to record on to the SD card. In the app i press record but it records to the phone in 1080p. How to record 2K from the drone to SD card?.. 🤔

Does it have to be formatted 1st?.. and if i press record, does the button in app & the controller do the same function or the app does 1080p while the control records 2k to SD card?.. any advice?.. tq
i did format 32gb sd-card
with FAT-ex filesystem 8k block
long hold video record button on contorller - - it's work prefectly

I'd suggest also trying another type of SD micro card too since some ( like Drone Captain) have noted some cards did not work.. I wish I new more about this particular incompatibility type of problem since I have many of these Class 10 cards and I'd like to use them interchangeably if possible BUT, I don't really know of any way to confirm the Photo or Video was actually written properly to the memory without pulling the card out and reading it from an external device. ... which would be a giant-pain-in-the butt to do, especially out in the field..

These are for recreational use so by registering yourself and labelling the drone is all you need to do.
