    When I saw the thumbnail to the video I thought it was a neat idea, but time consuming to attach all the skinny trees to the slats. But when I opened the video and he mentioned the trees are not affixed to the horizontal rails but basically just woven in, I thought that was a great idea! Fast, easy. And the one that is screwed in helps give the fence more structural strength.

    Thanks so much for this and your entire channel. I farm the old fashioned way and don't wanna have to go pay for fencing when I live in the woods with unlimited resources. Definitely fencing with this next year.

    I use bamboo and 30# clear mono fishing line always wins
    From ground up:
    First three with 6” spacing
    Next four 12” spacing

    Nice fence, if you live in a fire danger area, I do not recommend putting one of these up against any structures.

  • @dawnfiniff9338

    Love this! Someone in another comment suggested ivy which would look amazing, but I wonder how climbing vine foods like grapes, raspberries, etc. would do growing on it. It seems that the poles being loose like they are would allow enough sun and airflow for some of those types of vining plants to do very well and if deer get to nibble them back a bit on one side of the fence while they are protected on the other side of the fence it would be a win/ win situation. Fencing off an area, providing food for humans, and acting as a food source to keep animals you hope to hunt nearby.

    I'm making a wattle fence .. About 6 feet high ... each side will be about 100 ft long ... Hopefully it'll be sturdy enough so my dogs can't escape lol...

    I enjoyed the video very much. I may give that a try where i am at in West Virginia. On our off grid property the deer are a major problem with gardens. I think this might really help. I think i will start small scale and if that works expand. Have a great day.

    You could probably also make rock walls. Or will the deer jump over that?

  • @andrewpeacock5751
    @andrewpeacock5751 3 роки тому +1

    Great video thanks. You could use plastic bottle cordage and heat, instead of the screws and bring your cost down to essential your time plus a heat source (heat gun, torch, boiling water, fresnel lens, etc.). Once your shrink up that joint its the most secure it can get.

      When I was little, our pygmy goats made it out 6 ft chain link fence, broke INTO (okay, walked through the open front door) the neigbour's house, and pooped on their hideous pink carpet. Goats are geniuses when it comes to escape.

      The Last Grownup in the Woods If a goat is out, it wants to be in and vise-versa. They always want exactly opposite of what's good, right, expected or wanted. God, I love goats.
