      Damn fine looking bike. I think Honda in general have a classy, refined look. I’d love a super blackbird.

      Yeah it's like I tell my insurance when they ask me how many months a year I ride and how often I'll commute on the bikes....all of the above please.....😂😂😂 They then get to destroy my behind for the premium :P
      I agree, most Honda's just have a really nice, inoffensive but stylish look. Nothing world beating but nice. Plus they age well imo, some radical bikes don't. Ohhh now that's a nice bike 😍

    Interesting idea for a series. Good video man, lots of detail! Part availability and cost is important for a daily ride! I think your CB is a great commuter bike, it seems like a great "do it all" bike, it's sporty, comfy, commuty, tourey ( I be making up words...).

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks amigo :) Oh yes good one, I'll add that to the next video gracias :) It really is a brilliant all rounder, I don't see as many that are as good that are as road orientated, plenty of the big ADV bikes would be maybe but then you sacrifice the more sporty stance :)

    I use my 2015 CBF1000GT to commute and absolutely love it. It's very comfortable, mine comes with honda heated grips which are a must, I also have a Tomtom fitted as standard which is helpful but also I have my ultimateaddons phone holder for an additional device.
    They're brilliant bikes and I can't wait to get on a tour with it.
    Good video 👍

    • @TheGorillaBiker

      They are a very comfy bike! Everyone keeps telling me to get heated grips....but I honestly don't know how much I'd use them :D Might get heated gloves alright...it'd make sense with the couple of bikes. I love my ultimateaddons stuff, very good quality. I also don't know would I ever use a GPS, maybe if I was touring a lot! Yeah, I bought this one with a view to touring a bit...but yano. Not possible yet :D
      Thanks.

    I have a GSX S 1000, it really is for fun. You can commute on it, however there are better bikes for commuting. You have so many bikes, so lucky. Great series Mate, good idea.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      They are a monster :) I getcha, all bikes *can* be commuted on....it's whether they'll be nice and comfy is the question really :)
      I wouldn't say lucky per se, I don't own a house, have kids, and 3 of the 4 were cheap, anyone could have multiple bikes if they sacrificed other things :) Definitely lucky for the GSX-R though!!! :)
      Thanks! I just hope I can get more bikes to do it on once I've ran out of my own ones! Thanks for stopping by Mr TPR :)

    Enjoyed this. I think this is a great idea dude, especially when you have a bike you can compare it too in terms of commuting (like you mention). Will struggle to get the FTR1200 over to you.... As a 2009 cbf1000 owner.i genuinely believe it is the ultimate all rounder.loved by the critics. underated by the biking fraternity.Instead of fitting heated grips which puts more load on the stator.fit handguards for warmer digits,Its also wise to keep your battery optimised.keep it shiny side up my friend.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      It is a criminally under rated machine! Brilliant all rounder! Hand guards would make more sense for me anyway I think, I like super thin gloves( I know bad ) and stuff...my hands are pretty warm generally anyway. I'll look in to them thank you :)
      Yes indeed! I was going to put LEDs everywhere soon to lower the draw on it anyway, I'm also looking in to one of the MOSFET replacement ones, they're pricey but apparently ever lasting, and I plan on having this bike a long time. You too man and thanks for watching! :)

    • @scootyman2974
      @scootyman2974 3 роки тому

      @@TheGorillaBiker you might need to bear in mind that if you reduce the load on the stator by fitting LED bulbs, you may increase the working temperature of the regulator rectifier. Any excess electric energy will be converted to heat so it might be good to have the grips if you need them. I had a stator and flywheel kit which I imported from Germany for around £450 and it’s considered a fix for the stator burn out issue these bikes suffer with. When I fitted heated grips to my scooter, I used the higher power ones with the controller as I thought it better to use those on 30% rather than use the scooter specific ones drawing 2 amps constantly. The 30% setting only drew 1.3 amps as I remember and wouldn’t be a problem for your CBF.
      Hope that helps

    I had the newer CBF1000, commuted regularly on it and it was an excellent bike. Totally agree with your rating of the CBF1000. You must get heated grips, a game changer. Oxford heated grips work so well even though other brands are integrating the switch into the grips, which is nice for aesthetics. MPG on the newer version was slightly better at +50mpg, calculated like you did at fill up +maths and not from the bike’s clocks.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому

      The new one looks nicer I think but I do prefer the twin exhausts of the Mark 1 :) Another person suggested hand guards to me, I might try them and heated gloves, I have a collection of bikes so heated gloves would be useful :) I've seen Ultimateaddons have heated grips too! But might try them or Oxford eventually :) Ah didn't realise it was that much better, interesting :) You can never trust anything but that for checking them I don't think! :)

    • @ray8328
      @ray8328 3 роки тому +1

      I ride the F850 GS currently and hand-guards certainly help a lot during the winter. Not sure how they would look on the CBF but Yamaha Tracer 900 has them so maybe...I checked out the Ultimateaddons heated grips and I like the looks of them, worth a try. Watch out of the additional VAT charges (items >€22 including shipping) since brexit if you are importing direct from UK. DHL will charge you an additional €14 handling charge to process the VAT if it is not paid by seller. Make sure you use an EU dealer if possible, otherwise it will hurt.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      I've seen some slimmer one that looks nice on the CBF, might try it and see anyway! Yeah pity that's happened but nothing we can do :( I'll still pay the premium for stuff like Ultimateaddons....I'll have to swap from using Hagons for all my bikes now though which is a pity.

    Hi. Thanks for a great video. I'm considering this bike for my next one, and this commuting-review was spot on for me. I only have a few questions - you see, my last bike was a 650 Transalp, and I sold it because I was always in the turbulence from the windscreen, and I was about to go crazy over it. I'm 182/183cm high (witch in english would be around 6"?). How tall are you, and are you
    experiencing any turbulence while riding?

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks for watching! :) I'm 200cm, I'm Irish so we use proper measurements here too ;) I personally don't experience any turbulence, and that's up to pretty high speeds, I know people have experienced this with this bike which is easily fixed with a new windscreen! Honestly it's a brilliant motorcycle and if you do experience the buffeting it's easily fixed :)

    • @eirikrodsand83
      @eirikrodsand83 3 роки тому

      Thanks for the reply. In my experience with the Transalp, its not always only the protection from the windscreen that give an input on the buffeting, its also the lack of air behind the windscreen. But on this bike, there seems to bee an opening for air to flow trough the backside of the windscreen. There was one fore sale not so far away from me in the autumn, if I have any luck it will still be for sale when the spring arrives, and its once again possible to have a testdrive...;-)

    It takes me longer to get my gear on and bike out than walk it. Obviously I still get it out!! Long rides home. Trying to avoid a covid ticket at the moment so no excuses to be out the area.

      Haha to be honest walking to work would be nice...in winter this commute is not that much fun and very cold :D
      Long rides home are needed, especially Fridays, in normal times my 40 minutes would often turn in to over 2 hours :D So the gearing time is well worth it :)

    Best commuter ever the MT07 fuel economy just out-ways any negative with that bike. 260kms 13 quid to fill. I had a taller screen so wasnt bad on bother way and shitty weather. Also it's just a stupid funny little bike. Series is over.

    • @TheGorillaBiker
      @TheGorillaBiker  3 роки тому

      I get what you're saying but if you say fuel economy only then the nc750 outweighs it...they do 80+mpg to the mt07s 65ish. Plus they'd be far more comfortable....but the mt07 is more fun :P So the series must go on 😂😂

    used to commute on bike during late autumn, winter, having good gear was a definate need, ice made it interesting, worst for me was hail at 70mph those evil ice peas hurt as it is, add speed and yeah not fun.

      Agreed Bigbear on a bike.Firstly I am a huge fan of the CBF. I had a CBF1000 but changed down to the CBF600 4 years ago. I ride all year long as a commuter, about 5000 to 6000 miles ayear. I used to struggle to find a tyre that I felt comfortable with and trusted in all weather conditions until i was recommended Michelin road pilot tyres by someone who rides for a living 5-6 years ago and would not have anything else fitted to my bike now.
