- We had an interview with @andybrew5965, a WoW WF Raid from Echo that not long ago started playing D2 which his Guild! And thanks @MoopleLoops for helping!
The video is very long and uncut. You can use timestamps to better navigate it though, despite it being a bit disorganized (we had no script).
We discuss many different topics such as loadouts, raiding, strategies, meta builds, and Exotics.
Didn't plan for this to be a video at first but then figured I might as well upload it. i'm sure it can be particularly helful to newish or returning players that want to have a tldr on Day 1 raiding.
And yes I know I write off many builds that people enjoy, but first of all that's my opinion ofc, and second I'm not trying to sugarcoat it or hype fun builds up here, I'm speaking purely from an efficiency perspective in those hard scenarios.

These are my favorite videos of the year - so much of the fun I have with D2 is preparing for Day 1 and filling out my "shopping list" of weapons, strats, and builds since the rest of the game is free and can get super boring. Excited to hear this convo and grabbing some popcorn!

Really insightful for people that is doing day-1
on the topic of stompees in endgame PvE, I used them vs nezarec in pantheon while running and never felt in danger the entire time. Even with lfg teammates being terrible ad clear and the shielded guys being alive, I barely took much damage and the purple tornado's weren't much of a threat. once dps was about to start, swap to nighthawk and gg. It's surprisingly nice, maybe there's better choices? but it was kinda fun and did its job
its actually crazy how strong solar is and has been since 3.0, everytime i take it off the game feels so much harder lmao

We all know the LFGs are gonna be "Hunter with Still Hunt + Goldy + Nighhawk." It is currently the highest DPS combo atm. That isn't including the radiant player buffs and the weaken debuffs. Prismatic allows for weaken x2 and radiant.With boss dps you can probably pull off Still Hunt's goldy two times just based on a few precision shots and gather orbs from other players using their supers.
Hi Salt, thanks for the lengthy upload from stream. Has tons of info and i will skim through it tomorrow and share some notes with my clan. Will there still be a video similar to the past Raid-Races which is a more condensed version of this? Just you and your respective clan-mates going over each classes loadouts and giving some thoughts?

I’m planning on prepping a build for 2:40:22 hotswapping durning damage with prismatic to have a bit of extra DR. Exactly like you said here 2:41:19.
really good video, quick question about the arc titan setup, what would you use for arc neutral game before Cuirass swap?
Idk playing arc titan feels awful anyways, don’t see it happening. Maybe Hoil
After the rework precious scars is honestly quite a good option, especially with indebted.

I don’t think I do in depth but the Goldy sniper seems broken
prismatic hunter is prolly gonna be the meta
goldie with transcendance is just free damage, and even tho u dont have healing nade u can still get woven mail, restoration, and invis all in the same build so it'll probably be ifne
How do you recommend managing starfire/ToF fusions in general when it means losing out on healing nade x2 resto? Should you maybe run a healclip weapon?
Also is having 2 verity's warlocks for the infinite grenades reasonable during day one or too much effort, making apotheosis a better option?
I run healclip (like on Lunas Howl) and Ember of Benevolence to increase grenade regen in a team setting, as well as Ember of Resolve for healing. Phoenix Dive near allies will also activate Benevolence by applying cure (which is worth using for instance between plates on caretaker).
I think Verity is too much work. And idk, many too players can play without resto x2. Different playstyle ofc

They plan to do it, no? They are not racing for the worlds first, but what they plan to do is go blind for the first 24, then look for strats for the second day.
@@modicus9 Yea, im more just saying it would be interesting to see how they approach it because of their experience in other games.
This is the next level outlook and mindset that reflects how the bar has been raised so high for Day 1 raiding compared to past eras of Destiny and why so many familiar darling old guard clans/content creators have basically been brutally outplayed and outclassed by a essential cracked out randos who are playing Chess instead of Checkers and doing things that you only learn from constant practice, experimentation and understanding where and when particular things really shine.
Also I'll throw this out so you don't take the heat but I'm genuinely still surprised how Blinding GLs have remained in the form that they do because it such a free and useful effect.

I am only 50 mins into the video so I don't know if its brought up later but does the major killing potential of peregrine grieve solar titan compete with syntho hammer? I feel like the surrounded timer nerfs to synthos make them compete a bit more than they do this season.
No I don’t think so. I thought Synthos were like 3 seconds lol didn’t even know it was 8, 5 is still absurd

Are you expecting prismatic to be allowed for the day 1? Im expecting it to either be not released or locked
It will be there but no exotic class items and maybe some locked fragments
They have never locked their new subclass on raid release before so I don’t see why they’d do it now. Exotic class items seem like the most broken part and they’re locked so.
They’d probably want prismatic to be shown off in the raid race actually lol
Do you think titan will be runnable in day one with the rocket chest peice?
it gives a 35% damage boost from what i heard and lasts for 10 seconds if it works with b&s it will give a 65% damage buff
It depends if it stacks with other buffs or not, and if edge transit would still do more damage considering you can use that without an exotic that buffs its damage
Will have to test but titans still have some specific value, but yeah they are the worst class rn
@@Saltagreppo yeah :/ no ranged supers really hurts flexibility. Fingers crossed the void axe super is decent.
@@thecrackman7649Also works with rocket sidearms so they get a boost while you are swapping to them for BnS, negligible boost in DPS but helps with neutral play
You mention it in the video once but prismatic hunter lets you use goldie and nighthawk swap while seemingly having a much better neutral game. I dont know what gunslinger has over prismatic other than maybe healing grenades. Not to mention prismatic seems to be getting focusing lens as a fragment which might buff your goldie damage but unsure. Personally i think prismatic hunter is going to be the play considering they have both of the best supers and a better neutral

@@Saltagreppo there's a fragment that (with solar super equipped) gives resto on orb pickup, albeit no Empyrean equivalent to extend it that I know of soooo

@@Z_Moonlight-Nah healing nade is still probably better but either winters shroud DR or threaded specter decoy plus resto on orb comes really really close to being an on demand panic button

what is titan worth for in day 1? the other classes just seem so much stronger...
We go over it in the video. Bonk is broken and Strand and Void can provide defense
regarding the loadout swap thing: i think loadouts just should just fully be locked mid-combat, or so punishing that it is never worth it.
i think running an exo that buffs the super should come at the cost of not having a neutral game exo. and if that makes something too hard or some exos too bad, than they should just buff them so that they are still a relevant option.

I may not have interest in the "hardest" content in D2 anymore for many reasons, I do enjoy listening to discussions about builds and the sandbox.
Legend Campaign solo is a very good way to get good at the game for new players, solo dungeons would be tougher imo and not the best intro to getting better at the game
Locking loadouts once an encounter starts would be the best fix but idk if they'd ever do that
Would be very overkill though, would like a less impactful way if possible

I forget the timestamp but on the topic of prismatic being horrible: what is the true extent of that in your mind. I see transcendence as free damage and survivability on a 1 minute cooldown. Additonally celestial on prism hunter will likely prove to be incredibly strong as will song of flame on warlock. You specifically mentioned titans being the weakest because of the overpresence of meme builds and useless aspects and i pretty much agree. If you could provide specifics for warlock and hunter prismatic being weak id love to hear your insight as im seeing only upsides on hunter and a decent give and take on warlock
I don’t rember exactly what I said but Hunter seems op and just superior to regular subclasses. Titan is missing all good aspects and just looks bad imo. Warlock could be alright on Needlestorm or Song of Flame but still pales to Hunter imo
@Saltagreppo yeah hunter looked kind of crazy so thanks for clearing that up lol. Imo warlock nova looks better than needlestorm bc needlestorm is lacking thread of evolution and nova is getting the ~30% buff from the extra seekers. Titan has twilight arsenal which is interesting but I feel like if you're going to use that might as well play sentinel over prism.

Especially when you're in the raid for hours, it's probably a good call to stick with reliable damage choices instead of failing fancy rotations

Starfire is good. Aphoteosis is good for damage. Bracers are sketchy but ok

It's not an Hunter XD
some stuff coming in TFS will help with it, but right now the lack of supers or a reload exotic on par with Rain of Fire, RDMs, Dragon's Shadow holds Titan back.

This is a lot of not taking prismatic into account and the usefulness it brings to other classes like Titan with the general consensus that it is very strong compared to the other classes and I think preparing for how good prismatic could be for the raid is essential.
Yeah I mean I cannot know yet, but imo if you are on Prismatic you are on Hunter. Don’t see a universe where you run Prismatic Titan over Bonk. Can’t really speak of a lot of the new stuff though

@@ExistentialReign Thunder Crash is pretty bad since it depositions you and so does Pyro, I hate Pyro and don’t wanna run it lol. I like using Hammer of Sol for safety. Nothing even comes close to Nighthawk

@@Saltagreppo oh i just tested it, i got it the wrong way around sorry XD the closer you are to the duskfield the higher the visibility; so the strat is still theoretically viable. it's just really hard to see enemies inside one from afar

I think the final boss for Final Shape raid is gonna be Salt. His ability is gonna be he nerfs whatever weapon or ability ur using to the ground.

Yeah? Lmao. Maybe I understand it to a deeper level than you. Needlestorm js very inconsistent and that is something you wanna avoid day 1. Nova might not be great but at least it does it’s job. Autoreloads from Strand have little in day 1s
@@Saltagreppo auto reloads from strand absolutely have a place in day one lol... And you talk about how the strand warlock melee is worthless, completely ignoring just how good unravel is. The entire warlock strand kit can blow up a room better than any other subclass and with woven mail, if you're seriously struggling to stay alive, you have a skill issue.
Nova bomb is EXCEPTIONALLY weak as far as supers go. Sure, if you're too far away from the boss, the strand super isn't the best, but it will still easily out damage void bomb in just as much time to cast...
