Unlike Marcus, Aiden is not a programmer. He was using exploits given to him by others. He was explaining how he isn't good at everything he's doing in audio logs. Still, because of gameplay, he felt like the most powerful compared to everybody else in the series
I think the main flaw with watchdogs 2 and it’s blackout specifically is that the game is naturally brighter, ruining the extremely dark effect that should occur from the blackout, it causes the game to feel like this very big and powerful ability isn’t actually that powerful, but rather another little gadget that slightly increases your odds. This is why games with mods and enbs always make it darker at night because it just looks way better. Gta v, fallout, Skyrim come to mind. I have all those games with dark nights and it makes the atmosphere so much better.
You have to remember that ctOS keeps getting more and more advanced. In watch dogs 1 it was the first ever version so it would’ve been more prone to exploits. Plus Aiden isn’t a programmer and was relying on dedsecs hacks until Clara died.
Wouldn't consider Aiden's System Crash in Legion a Blackout at all, it's a completely different ability. It just makes the whole system go haywire within the area (which is still a great ability in fact), you should've did the "Dark Pattern" mission in Bloodline for the evolution since Aiden actually does a Blackout in that moment. Although I do wish that Aiden at least also has a Blackout ability since it's way too iconic to not be relevant in Watch Dogs.
I think the fact that it's more than Blume holding ctOS, making it harder if not impossible for Aiden to utilize Blackout. Watch dogs: need to craft a blackout. better effect Watch dogs 2: unlimited blackouts but have to wait a minute to get it back. medium effect Watch dogs legion: shitty effect
Watch dogs is my favorite of the series, but I wouldn't say it was made with hackers in mind. When Defalt is hacking the bunker, T-Bone and Aiden start freaking out trying to figure out how to lock him out, when they could have just. unplugged the router.
It's a shame this became one of the most powerful things and also one of the most fun things to use in watch dogs and now it's pretty much useless. Almost does nothing in watch dogs legions it looks like. I'm glad I never played it.
Aiden's System Crash is completely different from Blackout and functions way too differently from Blackout as well. Blackout is not useless in Legion, it doesn't exist in this game at all. And System Crash makes every hackable objects go haywire, including enemies with comms, either they get distracted or disrupted, which either way are great when you want to get away or take everything down (which is basically similar to when you do a Blackout, except instead of enemies being blinded, they get disrupted by their comms, so it's still just as good). It's not Blackout, but it's nowhere near useless at all.
