Apparently in the UK you need a full driving licence and insurance to drive one of these on our roads. Bearing in mind it's about £6000, you could be driving a really nice second hand car for that. So I don't think it would be worth having.😥
In England people have been reporting that insurance for electric vehicles has been getting very expensive, even for the humble Ami. I think that Citroën services has gone down over the years... When you make an appointment for a 10.000km service, they can expect that things has to be done! Letting customers come back for repairs (twice!) is bad service in my view! It has been diverend though....
Another thing to consider is the future obligation for sans permis owners to put their vehicles in for a contrôle technique, from April 2024. Apparently according to a Dutch friend and sans permis owner, France will be the only EU country putting this into place. Whoopie doodar! Not looking forward to the whole thing as my sans permis van will be 13 years old by then!

It may be quite unfair to pay the full new price for something with only few “miles” left, just a thought, nothing else.
For those who had questions about the belt - look under the plastic of an Ami 😁

Ok from Citroën to provide new tires and taking care of the geometry - so it's off to the next 10.000km and many more videos.
Yup we were pleased
What is that song in the background?
wondering why they did not measure the capacity of the battery... (why zirconia bridge? my porcelain one has been fine and it is 20 years old and this week I am going to put one more 3-teeth porcelain bridge for 600 euros. I suppose it is much more expensive in France)
It is sadly!
Crumbs I’m early to your great vlog 🎉🎉
Time for some fresh accompanying music,d’ya think fellas?
Any suggestions (copyright free)
Did you miss the tram trip... my god i was the first on spot this time, now realised
That's probably because of privacy rules! Some (tram companies) don't want their clients to be filmed...
we had sound issues on the tram but fear not we have a tram episode under construction!
Can you jump a regular car (with dead battery) with an electric car including your Ami?
I’d have thought so with the 12v battery
Usually no, the 12v battery is much smaller as it does not need to provide starting current.
You left Twiggy at home today
Yup too much waiting around for the call from the garage etc
Mister Me and Mister Boo and Elton! Good to see Elton gerting sorted at the Citroen dealership 😊 the fish & chips looked bloody tasty 😋 😍 people making comments about your teeth smacks of very rude & uncalled for!!!! As if it's got anything to do with anyone else! Now Are You Being Served was a great TV show with so much innuendos that you zTim would have been well cast in that 😂😂 excellent vlog stay safe and well and obviously stay charged 😊😊🎉
I was born too late....
really enjoyed it...cheers
Thanks very much
As a petrol head I have the say the Ami is such a cool looking car. Typical French.
I Agree I love the design
Tim, I'm not sure I could stomach a ride on Camilla either. I don't know how he does it, Charles, that is. She's just not my type.
I don’t mind it when I’m on it’s just getting the leg over to begin with
squeaking its the same here come with 300 km month old its at the dealer now for some great leaks to the car is filling up like the tittanic
Oh no, we’ve been lucky on the water front and never had an issue. Let us know how they solve the squeaking!
@@MeandMonAmi If tightening doesn't work then I think we all have a problem because here they change the motor and drive
I think that Citroën services has gone down over the years... When you make an appointment for a 10.000km service, they can expect that things has to be done! Letting customers come back for repairs (twice!) is bad service in my view! It has been diverend though....
Yes we’ve no complaints but it’s takes time
Last time I had Creme Caramel I coughed and burped at the same time and spat it into the table centre piece.
Oh dear.
I thought they’d abandoned this?
@@MeandMonAmi Seems the links I posted have been deleted. Shame. Thought they were helpful.
You convinced me not to buy a Citroen ami… too many problems for a new car.
We love ours but it’s not for everyone!
You wouldn't have the door issue with the Buggy 😅
lol true
I’m not buying an Ami if you have to wear a life jacket
I was waiting for the life jacket comment! TBH when I edited it I thought the same;
@@MeandMonAmi 😂🤣
Elton definitely doesn’t have a timing belt.
Timing belt?
Timing belt, no. Drive belt, yes.
I don't think electric cars have belts, the screech sounds like pebble between brakedisk and caliper.
thanks for a great channel.
I don't know about electric cars in general, but the Ami certainly has a belt between the motor and the transmission of the energy to the wheels.
It definitely has a belt
Thanks. I *think there is a belt
That meal was incredible value. I'm finding that it can cost me £40 for one meal with just one beer, here in England. As for people being rude about your teeth, why don't they go watch something else. You both come across as lovely people, you don't deserve rudeness.
There are lots of places here where you will pay that and much more but I think they are mostly for fools. I loved this place.
😊
This looks fast for 25 km/h!
Good that Elton is doing well. Fancy fish and chips in a French restaurant….. u.k.will be getting back in the E.u. Next ? I can dream . Great stuff as usual .
Thanks. Yup F and C are remarkably popular down here amongst the French
There is a chance that The Netherlands are going out of the EU as well! I hope we will!
THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR CAR EXCEPT PLASTIC ! … and, oh yes, you have some PLASTIC ! …and, just to check… LOOK IF IT’S GIT PLASTIC !
Hush!
