thanks soo much! it's truly been a wonderful addition! firing it up shortly actually haha. thanks for all the encouragement Michelle! Have a great weekend!
Miles... you don't know hoow much this means man. I appreciate what you do soo much! haha hope class is going well for you on this lovely friday my dude! talk super soon I'm sure! ayeee!
Your channel is highly under appreciated by the UA-cam world. You have a distinct skill of making folks like me interested and that’s not an easy task nowadays. congrats on the build brother. Keep up the good work. I know if you keep on you’ll get where you want to be sooner than you know. If I could change one thing would be the music covering when your doing random tasks. Sometimes it’s more appealing ti hear you actually working than the random music. No harm intended abd my opinion means nothing. Just one of my observations
LOVE how this turned out!! From the siding to the interior, it's fantastic! Spending the extra $$$ on the cool stove really added that extra kick of cool factor to this project. I hope you get to have many relaxing sauna sessions in there. Cheers!
Great video! Boy what a ton of work, and in the snow! Crazy! I wonder how many calories you burned building this up a hill. Congrats on finishing a super rad sauna. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🙏
AYOOOO big love Jonathan! How long does it take to heat your sauna up? Haha some good feedback from folks on Sauna Design FB groups about it taking 2 hours in this temperature
Looks great man! This has me wondering if a sauna stove would work (better than a standard wood stove) to heat a work space. The stones retaining the heat 🤔
thermal mass is key! soooo i think they would be similar (big ol cast iron and this stove). a cast iron is still a big thermal mass, and with the necessary insulating fire bricks (which act as a part of that thermal mass), along with the thick cast iron, i think it does a decent job. I certainly find it to be the case at my cabin with my vermont castings stove. the key with this stove is that it's built to take on water too, and not rust. steam is the name of the game with this stove, but undoubtedly, the thermal mass with the rocks make this thing pretty sweet too. the firebox is shorter though, soo nothing bigger than a 14 inch log, which is sort of a pain!
Looks Great! I'm seriously considering the Huum Heat for my build here in Santa Cruz! How are you liking it so far? How long is it taking to get up to temp?
ooooh I highly recommend it tbh! it's suuuuuch a treat! it does take some time to heat up in our frigid cold temperatures (upwards of 2 hrs), but it holds heat super well and the steam it produces is top notch! we've been enjoying ourselves sooo much!
killer job dude. I'm taking big inspiration from your series while I plan out my own build. And I wanted to ask why you chose to go with poured concrete footers vs. the easy route of using concrete blocks like Kuhn?
ehhh thank you! soooo i went with concrete footers because my land had all sorts of elevations underneath the building. just figured i'd try and shore it up as best a possible with the footers. thanks again for checking this out!
@@AndrewSzeto that's what I've been going back and forth on actually, single pitch vs. Classic gable roof. I figure if I went with the gable I could make some small storage area above the sauna. I'm building a sauna with a n attached greenhouse and planning to collect rain water from the roof of the sauna. Thanks for the feedback! I'm sure I'll have more questions after I watch your videos over and over until I start my build.
i hear ya! trying to get it hotter for sure! it honestly still throws off really good steam just in general and we're well and sweaty anyhow. gets up to about 45 according to the gauge. It is like -30 outside too. the door is a bit drafty, so definitely still a bit of a work in progress.
That roof action really got my stress levels pumping dude! Epic sauna build man..
thanks brother! love your video today! time to get on projects that are slightly more relatable & more storytelling! 🔥
Congrats guys! You worked so hard and now you have this wonderful addition to your forest home🤗 So excited to see what's to come

Hey Szeto! What is under your Huum stove? Did you put it right on the concrete?
yaaaa! a concrete block to allow a litttttle more separation. not sure if it was necessary
The Huum stove brought me here, it’s my dream to have one of those.
it's a great unit!
Congrats, looks amazing 🙂
thanks a ton! mega pumped!

wow. this is blowing my mind!!!!!!!!

33 degrees? No point to throw anything on stones before like 70-80, otherwise water just cools down the stones.
