This is so creative. I would like to know what are you using for that wool texture? Is that a roving wool? It seems like you are able to put it down with such detail before you start stitching on it? Also how are you attaching it to the fabric? It seems to be somehow glue down, but I don't think its really glue. Maybe you are using a touch of spray fabric glue, like KK 100? Very lightly to just get it to keep from moving around as you stitch on it? Anything you can explain how to set up your background I would be so appreciative of. I understand some of it, but it's not complete. I love to watch you use these different stitches come to life, but I'm a little lost on what you use for some of your backgrounds to get you started. Thanks for all your help.

Hi Anita. Do you mean the little waterlily picture? For that one yes it is wool roving. No glue, just using a needle felting tool that has little barred needles that pushes parts of the fibre through the weave of the fabric to the back. I love it, in fact stay tuned, I am thinking about a series of videos on it. It is a real game changer.

Hola Inma. thank you for contacting me. I am just discovering how to do that now. As soon as I can I will then apply it to all the videos. Cheers Tacey

you have a very long and seemingly thin needle. what type to use always gets me bamboozled. in my mind,I feel I should use the finest needle possible to keep the invasion of the needle marks to a very fine result.

Hi, I have a collection of needles, but quite often it is just what is at hand, having said that, I think I was probably using a size 7 double long hand sewing needle. As I get older I am definitely finding that I need a needle with a larger eye. The double long is good for when I am wanting to do several stitches at once before I pull the thread through. But if I am doing a French knot for example, I use something much shorter. Worrying about the width of your needle leaving marks, depends on the fabric, some fabrics will let you use a much thicker needle than you think. Hope that helps 🙂
