LOL I should post a poll 😂
100%@@FoolishFrankie
Good band name
i am proud
I was at this ceremony and I was so excited to see you guys on stage - you did great! I was plugging the channel to all my friends lol
OMG no way!! Thanks so much for sharing and I’m glad you enjoyed the music!🙏🏻
2:34 - 2:55 might be the most natural I've ever heard you play. You're dug in and sounding great. Happy for you!
Thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
what song is it
@@sageturtl4996 I believe it is Rosalina in The Observatory
Damn dude. The opening alone is awesome. Great editing and music of course
Thank you so much!!!
How exciting to be able to participate in events so important to people's lives. Good job Frankie ^_^
It’s one of my favorite parts of the job!! Thanks for watching as always Kinto:)🙏🏻
I wish you guys played at my graduation. It would've been awesome.
It’s never too late to go back to school!😂
I usually don’t comment on videos but I’m a Highschool violinist and something about your videos really speak to me, I aspire to be as comfortable and natural as you are
Ahh well don’t be fooled I am uncomfortable most of the time😂
man i need the full version of rosalina’s observatory dude, it shall fill the hole in my soul
🙌🏻🙏🏻
We've been blessed by a Frankie vlog today, y'all.
❤️
"Identify the section of the song that can be played one handed and do so while moving to another location": actual video game stuff 😁
LOLOL
A great song for exiting a graduation is "Bills, Bills, Bills" by Destiny's Child. I feel bad for those student loan kids that will take 20 years to pay it off.
Oof, at least all of these people will likely have high paying jobs and will be able to!
Or 'Price Tag' by Jessie Jay? It's not about the money!
One Handed Sax!!!! Mad Skills!!!! I was a fan before… but this sealed the deal! 😃 Love these videos!!!
LOL well thanks!!
I like how this perfectly encompasses the gig
I try my best!!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Came from the reel, I knew I recognized Iko Iko ! Love Dr. John, tremendous playing + the Dean has great taste lol
Thank you!!
This low A at the end went crazy
Haha that one-handed B section definitely deserves a like.
LOL thank you!!
thank you very much for doing these gig vlogs. I find it endlessly fascninating and keep learning new things and tunes. always a pleasure to watch you
Thank you so much 🥺🙏🏻
1:45 Iko Iko is a New Orleans Traditional!
Yo, Perfidia! Love that piece.
Great mix of bts and music
Thank you!!
Bro went from a jazz musician to playing in Carnegie hall🤯
You are going places man
Love from bass trombonist!
❤️
Transferring to a 4 year for music from community college so I hope our graduation is as vibey as this one musically
Awesome video Frankie!
I'm becoming more of a fan each day! I'm glad that you randomly popped up on my Shorts feed earlier this year and I live 20 minutes away from Oakland. That's crazy that the whole band is based in Pittsburgh.
Keep posting more of this content! It's really top-tier. I wish you the best! 🔥🔥
Hey thank you this means so much!!🥺🙏🏻
I went to N. Texas for 2 1/2 years. From taking lessons since I was 8 to going to one of the premier state schools for music, I had all the training that I needed...So I went out there and had a career for 20 yrs, teaching and playing. All styles. I think that the best a student could do is study really really hard for about 3 -4 yrs, play with anyone anytime doing ALL styles.
A little Iko iko
7:20 every time music happens in that room you’re waiting on power from the venue 🙄
Love the videos! Yay Pittsburgh pro music!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
I was a pro musician for over twenty five years and did plenty of gigs like this. I know what this is like. You're a good reed man. Much success.
Thanks!
During the one-handed saxophone relocation in the lobby, I could swear that you were playing “will you be my neighbor?“
I was!
Damn, woulda been awesome to have live music during my graduation! Maybe one day at my wedding. That’d be so coool
Great video, your playing is going from strength to strength. Loved the bit of Passion Dance!
Ahh thank you so much I really appreciate this!!!
"I think its for like the medical class or medical school or something like that" - cue Dr. Mario music 🤣🤣🤣
LOL good ears :)
mercy mercy mercy YEAAAAAA
2nd line groove to pop and circ is 🤯
Nice job balancing the music/dialogue volume between all your clips! I'm used to having to adjust the volume throughout the video but this was spot on
Thanks so much!!
Kudos for the one-handed improv
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Great Vlog Standard. Entertaining but I love seeing how everything goes behind the scenes. And everything you have to put up with.
Thanks so much!🙏🏻🙏🏻
Love the editing
Thanks!!
Hey Frankie, been watching your videos for a while now, I’m 14 and I started playing alto sax about a year and a half ago, I love your videos man keep It up!
That is awesome thank you!!🙏🏻
I've been craving a video from frankie 😂. Any later than this week and i would have thought he died.😭
Thanks for watching:)
@@FoolishFrankie no prob. Keep up up!
Excellent content, as always!
Much appreciated!🙏🏻🙏🏻
You play so well. Always a joy to listen in on.
❤️🙏🏻
Dropping out of school doesn't make you Foolish, Frankie
🥺🙏🏻
Just played at my school's graduation ceremony last night, we made bets on how many times we went through P&C and it ended up being 9
Omg😂
You’re killin it Frankie!!!
❤️🙏🏻

❤️
Always a good day when fool's frank uploads!
😂😂
Wow that was good ! Also the very low A at the end I do for fun too 🙂 !
Solid stuff Frankie. Always love a vid from our resident internet saxy fool.
I can hear why he didn't cut it .... but it must have made the graduates feel like the might have a career
No. 1 again. ❤❤ groovy!!
Thanks for watching!
Класс!!! Тоже так хочу!!! Респект!
❤️
Hahaha caught that low A at the end-- nice job ya'll!!
Ayy thank you man:)
Wonderful gig! I've done it.. you've inspired me - I joined the local music Con and band rehearsals start next week! Unsure if I'll do Alto or Tenor - but thanks for the inspiration onetheless.
Ahh that’s so awesome to hear!! I hope it goes well🔥🙌🏻
You sounded so much like Eddie Barbash in the beginning with you playing pomp and circumstance.
Biggest compliment thank you🥺🙏🏻
Great vid and great playing!
Thanks so much!!
A lot of non musos think a live band works the same as a stereo - but it doesn't.
7:54 Won't You Be My Neighbour!!
Yes!
MERCY, MERCY, MERCY
Amazing video :)
Thanks:)
@@FoolishFrankie every video you make is great like its amazing
loved the video
(it was posted less than a minute ago)
lol😂
Nice take on my famous cousin's tune, "Pomp and etc."
Lmao
I really enjoy observing the life of a journeyman saxophonist; thanks for the great videos. Can I ask what the app is on the tablets; is it something like Tomplay, or do you organize all your music in advance?
Thank you!! It’s called ForScore!
I am one of Frank's fools 🫡
Lololol😂🙏🏻
Hey, love your videos! I was wondering what kind of neck strap you are using, looks a lot like the jazzlab saxholder, but then again not quite. :))
That’s what it is! Just an older model. Thanks for watching!
Your Rosalina blowing 😮💨😮💨🔥🔥
Dude thank you🥺🥺🙏🏻
Letssssss goooooo
👀
i didnt go to school
What school did you drop out of? I did 3 semesters at Berklee and while I had straight A’s, the talent blew me away.
UNT
8:35 sounding nice on everything happens to me, beautiful funny song choice for the graduation when everyone is leaving. Also funny from perspective of musician dropout playing a gig for a college graduation 😂
I find the song is unique because it’s a ballad you could cry to or laugh to. The lyrics have a quality that can come from a place of humorous self pity or tragic defeat. You really can get a sense of it when you hear many arrangements and how they interpret the song so differently.
Check Matt Dennis’ recording singing and playing compared to Sinatra or Billie Holiday’s version. Even the instrumentals like Charlie Parker with strings and Thelonious Monk compared to Sonny Rollins or Bill Evans.
Tell Anton that Victor Wooten juggles - keep it up!
Woah I didn’t know that! I’ll tell him:)
I've always wondered with how good you are at the sax what inspired you to do it? Maybe a bit of a personal question but I also play the sax and have wanted to go into music potentially later in life for a job and I was wondering if doing gigs and stuff like that makes comfortable money to live on?
I’ve always loved music and it kind of just happened. It doesn’t really make comfortable money and you have to work constantly. Definitely isn’t for everyone but it’s extremely fulfilling
Iko Iko indegenous and New Orleans
I would have stopped playing the sax and just have the rythm guys play during the cermony
But then I’m getting paid to do nothing which feels wrong
This is really cool to see. I have always had this idea of wanting to apply gigging in uncommon scenarios, and I feel like this fits right with that! If you're unable to answer how you go about getting a gig like this in a comment, I'd love to see a video about how you go about booking unique gigs!
I talk a little bit about it in this vid: ua-cam.com/video/EYhGvrm2PQA/v-deo.html
Frankie big fan here!! In this video did you happen to turn the gain dial up on the microphones you are using? It sounds like UA-cam's compressors are being put into overdrive from this video :(
Hey thanks so much! I didn’t change any of my settings so I’m not sure why it sounds like that:(
@@FoolishFrankie maybe an editing error? Not sure cus your other videos sound great
I realized what happened, my camera got a software update that boosted the default input volume:((( It looks like I don't have the option to manually turn it down either. I realized because I'm editing a vlog I just filmed last week and the clipping is way more noticeable😭 Sucks so much. Going to try to find a work around for future videos, I may just have to bite the bullet and buy a zoom recorder or something
@@FoolishFrankie yeah that sucks. I am not super sure if there is a work around either. The only things that come to mind is you putting a compressor instead of UA-cam or just lowering the volume of the tracks on the editor (should be lower than around -6db cus thats when UA-cams gate kicks in)
What's the tune around 2:15? It has that nice touch of leading tones and secondary dominants
Rosalina in the observatory
Great video, I like it.
May I ask what's the name of that tune in 1:20?
jody grind - horace silver
Thank you!! And yes it’s the Jody grind
Hallo Fools Mortals...
Oh yeah your Video game interpretation songs from game show evening are my one of my favorite tunes from your channel...Blow me away..🤯🥴
and I hope until to the end 💀one day they can enter my playlist..

thx for showing....
Thanks for watching!!
Aw pomp and circumstance a good song but a pain to play more then once
Eh as long as we don't have to play it for like 30 mins I'm fine with it lol
sorry weird question but why do you prefer alto saxophone?
It just has always felt the most natural to me
Can you please make one on M83 Midnight City from 3:00
I cannot
Normally your sound isn't distorted, but definitely a problem on this video...
Not sure what you’re talking about? Seems to be fine for everyone else?
I also found the sound super peaky on this video.
@@FoolishFrankie Listen again, not on a phone... The musical passages are definitely distorted...
What is the bread on this?
Not sure if I’m allowed to disclose
@@FoolishFrankie be smart and say you each got 2000 dollars plus transportation.
Lol okay, this is weird, because I had a similar gig about a month ago, and I also dropped out 😂
Omg😂😂
@@FoolishFrankie 😂
i have done gigs like this where they basically wanted us to be a juke box , play, stop playing ,play …meh i didnt like it
That’s not really what this gig was, we weren’t taking requests or anything we just had set times they wanted us to play like any gig
7:55 Does anyone one know what song is that please?
Should be in description
Sorry but I can't find it ps: love your videos @@FoolishFrankie
not sure why they kept glaring, yall were paid and told to play then so yall did what you could to not interrupt what was goijg on
Amazing playing, amazing editing, amazing songs, if I get money again I’ll give it to you 🥹
❤️🙏🏻
